In this video, I dive into the prehistoric technique of Naalbinding, which is an ancient fiberworking technique that has been used for thousands of years from Scandinavia to Egypt. I explore the basics of stitching wool into a headband with a large blunt needle.
The end result is a woolen headband, showcasing the interlocking V-shaped stitches typical of this technique. Though the headband is a bit too tight for my use, it’s a great fit for colder weather and would be ideal for a child. In the future, I’ll experiment with adjusting stitch size, working flat rows, and integrating new patterns or colors to enhance my Naalbinding skills.
