Love the look of the dash an hvac controls I'll have to buy the kit you sell I'm working on a 95 f-150 xlt supercab short bed
Absolutely! Sounds nice!
Looks awesome I'm working on a 95 f150 supercab
Awsome video, what 3M products did you use on the gauge cover? Thanks, and just waiting for my HVAC cover i ordered from you a few weeks ago.
Hey! Your order should arrive on the 15th! The covers are made with 3m Adhesive backing if that makes sense!
Oh dang, I meant the buffing and polishing compounds you used on the plastic cover, but thanks, it's good to know you used high-quality products. I can't wait to install the climate control face. Thanks for the reply.
Ahh gotchya! I’ll do a small short video with a bit more info and some links just give me a couple of days and I’ll send you a link!
Hey sorry on the late response. Basically I just used wet sand paper starting at around 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 and then used a buffing compound and a polish. I'll try and get a video up in the next couple days another alternative is you could pick up a headlight restoration kit I would only use the drill attachment to polish and would sand by hand as the instrument cluster is pretty fragile. Hope this helps!
What head unit is that?
Hey you can learn more about the head unit here! OBS F150 Gets New Radio Upgrade & Backup Camera! ruclips.net/video/TPNrP4rYEQQ/видео.html
Do you have anymore of the a/c gauge display left? If so how much?
Absolutely you can check them out here chinookauto.ca/product/92-96-f150-climate-control-illumination-cover-upgrade/
I did this and now my needles don't move like they use to. Can you install them wrong? I didn't see in the video how you lined them back up
Hey, you can install the cluster but leave the plastic cover off. Turn the truck on and then install the needles. I found that to be the best way to get your needles lined up correctly. It might take a bit of playing with. Hope that helps!
@@chinookauto sounds good I'll give that a try. Thank you
So I used the pink/yellow for lock and pink/green for unlock and no luck. I'm just curious if I should try the same way you used and why mine doesn't work since that is what everything tells me to use?
I’m not 100% sure what the situation is it’s been so long since I’ve installed it. I know the instructions it came with was trash! Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
I am curious how a 12 inch would look. I should probably take some measurements, but I think it would fit okay in my 93 f250. The 10 inch ones are out of stock currently.
How'd the 12 inch go? Not fitment issues?
Let me know how the 12 inch works out!
@@Pludplug It fits amazing. I would actually recommend getting the 12 inch instead of the 10 inch. It actually lines up better with the dash in my opinion. I just got mine installed a month ago or so, pretty easy except for the backup camera wiring. If you get to that part and have trouble figuring out which wire in the wiring harness under the dash goes to the brake lights then let me know. I can maybe put a Google Drive link with photos of how I did it. Not exactly the easiest way, but definitely the best, cleanest, and safest way. Also, if you want full functionality without the stupid parking brake safety function then connect your parking brake wire to your ground, NOT your hot, even so, I would still recommend checking it yourself, touch the wire to your keyhole or other grounded metal and make sure that makes the warning goes away before you commit to it.
So thats oil pressure not oil temperature?
Yes
Any updates on the truck?
Hey @aaronred01 The truck project was delayed big time due to work, moving, and a few other factors. I'll try to get an update video posted to explain the delays.
Thank you for the update and congratulations 🎉 best wishes to you and the family
I can’t get mine to get the reverse image to pop up when I put it in reverse. It’s hardwired into the reverse power and negative wire, but still nothing. Isn’t it supposed to be connected also behind the radio to wire? When I press the Camera button on the display, the camera turns on it works fine. But does not come on when I put it in reverse. The reverse lights work properly, it’s connected to the positive and negative reverse wires. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Also, it’s not saving my stations and I know I connected the 12 V direct and 12 V accessories. I can’t figure out which wire from my truck is the reverse input that connects to the back of the radio.
Is the positive and negative wires reversed if you’re tapped into the back up light? I know the wires that come in the kit are also really tiny for the back up camera, might be a factor? With radio presets not working it might be worth reaching out to boss audio. I hope that helps!
What size gauge sheet metal did you use?
I can’t remember off the top of my head I’m pretty sure I used the same gauge as factory metal.
Good afternoon Great Video Step by Step. Do you have a Speedometer like the one in your Video for Sale ? Thank you so much for your Video and time.
I don't have an extra speedometer for sale! Sorry! Thanks for your comments!
What Model Speedo did your Unit come out of and what Year OBS. My Truck is a 1994 I won't to put a Tack in .
Hi, It is the factory Speedo out of my 92 XLT. I hope this answers your question!
Good job.
Thanks!
Is there a good way to assure that the needles are reinstalled in the correct orientation? Getting ready to do this to my bronco. Great write up!
Hey thanks! The best way is to install the instrument cluster back in the truck but leave the needles off and clear cover off. You can then start the truck and then turn the truck off. Then reinstall the needles in the off position for each gauge. You can then test it again, make any adjustments and when you are happy put the clear cover back on! Hope this helps!
Btw, if you have one of the hvac labels that isn’t dark enough would you be willing to sell it? I wouldn’t mind the red I’m installing bleeding thru. Let me know
Hey, I don’t have any of the old ones that have the black bleed through. The hvac controls we have in stock will shine through red if you use red LED bulbs tho! Hope this helps!
Ok new question, I took off the clear cover then was taking off the black trim before taking off the needles and a little spring kind of fell out. Any idea what that could go to? Truck is a 95 bronco, automatic with push button 4x4
Man I have no Idea! It might be for the 4x4 button on the black trim?
I got the HVAC controls for my 92 and 95 Broncos, I put blue led in they look great ! I think the control face and dials are the same in my 99 Superduty so it will be getting the same upgrade!
Thanks for the feedback glad the install went smoothly!
Awesome video. Good work bro. I need to do this to my extended cab
I appreciate that! Thaks for your comment!
Do you have anymore of the climate control pieces? I'd love to change mine. Ed....sorry I just found web site and ordered.
We received your order and will get this processed and shipped out to you! Thanks!
2 orders went through some how. I only need 1 ordered. Please cancel 1
What is your web site
Here it is chinookauto.ca/
Excellent job. The Ford Flareside I have had a really tough life.
Thanks! Yes haha most of them have had a hard life!
@@chinookauto mine was used as a Ranch Rig and was pretty beat up too. It has a laundry list of issues.
What did you do to align the oil gauge?
Hey, I just put the needle on hooked everything up and started the truck. I then played with the needles to ensure all were positioned right before the final installation. I hope that helps!
I know this video is a bit old but is your 2/4 drop, drop springs in the front for the 2”? And if so how do you like it?
no worries, I’m sure it was 2” in the front and 4” in the rear. I wish the truck sat a bit higher in the rear I would probably do a 2/2 if I could do it over again. I hope this helps!
@@chinookauto so it was lowering springs that you used to lower the front? lol
Yes this is correct. Springs and shocks.
@@chinookauto awesome thank you!!
That's really nice keep up the good work
Thanks my friend! Much appreciated!
I like the stereo and I want to install it on my 1995 F-150 XLT extended cab. I never install a stereo. Do you have a wiring guide that you used on the video so I can copy the color code and solder it the same way…? OR the radio comes with instructions of how to…? Thank you Great video..!! I subscribed and liked..👍
Hey, when you buy the wiring harness and the stereo it will explain which wires to connect. Both the radio and the harness will have instructions! Cheers!
I will check that resistor out thanks
I have a 91, and i thought my voltage gauge was bad... until i replaced the alternator
Hey man I just installed my unit on my Obs. But for some reason when I turn on the headlights, the unit shuts off and then turns back on. Any idea what could cause this?
Hey, sorry on the late response. I would recommend going back over your wiring harness sounds like something might be hooked up incorrectly. I wish I could be more help!
Can you phone mirror on this?
Hey sorry for the late response. No there is no mirroring option but car play works good
Iv got 3 obs trucks I'm not sure what one to start on first the 93 long bed with the 5.0 ..the 95 extended cab 5.0 or the 96 short bed with the 5.8 but I enjoy watching your vids thank you for taking us along the journey have a good one 🍻
Much appreciated thanks for your comment!
If its a short wheel base its a 16 gallon in front and 18 in back. If its a single cab 8ft bed, its 19 in front and 18 in back. 4wd may change that though depending on year.
How noticeable was the difference before and after
Hey, I haven’t gotten to really drive the truck yet. Just finishing some bodywork before paint. So in the next couple months hopefully I can provide you with a better answer!
@@chinookauto only downside is its alot of weight. I put ten pieces in my van and they were heavy.
Liked commented subscribed?
Does it have the reverse sensors that start beeping at you faster and faster as you get to close to something in reverse?
Hey, No there are no sensors in the system. Cheers!
I can see light through my whole cab side on the drivers.. it’s very bad.. it’s an extra cab and I think one day it’s just going to rip apart and the cab will flop around. I need to replace the entire cab corner and whatever is in between and floor, door jams and rockers… it’s so bad 😭🤣
I feel your pain! It’s a process for sure!
how much square feet of it did you need
I purchased two boxes but I think you could get away with 1 box! Links in the description!
looks amazing. inspired to modernize my OBS interior.
I appreciate the feedback! Absolutely worth it!
Helpful video. Exactly which module did you use and where did you buy it? Thanks!

i have a 95 flareside that i got new on my 17th bday in march of 95. it is light opal according to the window sticker that i still have. 4.9 with 5 speed 187000 miles. it still wears original paint and will outshine new vehicles.
That’s great Bob! Would be great to see some pictures!

What filler neck and hose assembly did you use on rear tank....???..do you have a link for replacement part...
It was just the factory neck I cleaned up. I only replaced the tanks! Sorry I couldn’t be more help! There is lots of parts on Amazon as well!
where can i buy the front fuel tank? i can only find rear tank
Hey, I got mine from Partsavatar but I also see them on Amazon! Hope that helps!
Great video I appreciate you for uploading this!☝🏿🤞🏿
Thank you for your support!
Dude, I'm literally doing the exact same restoration, even bought the same Boss system. Your videos are a massive help!
I'm glad to hear! That's great how far along are you? It will be a while before my next video i've started the body work which will take me some time!
@@chinookauto I've got the interior stripped down the the metal, floorboards prepped for sealer, and all of the interior plastic re-dyed. Im actually going to be using the same sound mat that you used as well. Next after that, I've got the bed removed, and have begun wire wheeling the frame to get painted with raptor liner, replace the shocks, add a cold air intake, retune, body and paint. Then she's done. I'm looking forward to seeing how you approach the body work, are you going to paint it yourself?
Dang man! You've been busy! I found when doing the frame using a needle scaler worked really well! I was debating about painting it myself but I don't have a great setup for paint so as of right now i'm going to most likely prime and block sand it and then take it to the painters!
Looks good. 👍🏾
Thanks!
That turned out great, I did mine in Red but I will plan on getting your H/Vac parts, I hope they last cause I cant quite swing it right now, the Radiator core support job on my 95 Flareside I'm doing ballooned out of control and I had spend more on parts then I planed, great video
No worries, jobs never go to plan! 😂
I have always used Frost King duct insulation, it's self adhesive foil/foam, same as the sound deadner but 1/8" thick and much cheaper.
Good recommendation I’ll keep this in mind for the next project!
This channel is just a wealth of knowledge and information on the obs FORD... excellent job!!
I appreciate the feed back! Thanks!
My camera will turn on in reverse, but it doesn’t automatically go to the reverse cam view. When I go to the camera app on the home page, the camera is working just fine. Think you can help?
Hey, are you hardwired into the reverse light wiring to trigger the backup camera turning on?
My truck is a 1994 flareside f150, I took the bed off sandblasted frame, por 15 frame, all rear suspension is new leaf springs, shocks, new fuel tanks and fuel pumps. I got take it to the a/c shop and then it's paint. Love the truck! Good luck to you. Also I'm putting after market lED headlights on it because for 175$ it's a really cool upgrade.
That’s fantastic! Let me know how the headlight turn out and which ones you go with!
Watch on the front tank, you can cross the feed and return lines, then when you put the bed on it will crush the 2 together and restrict the fuel flow and you will think you have another bad pump, if you look close at the way Chinook has them, that would be correct, I crossed mine by mistake, one day I'll fix it LOL, but that means removing the bed again
Nice tip!
