The Murphy Institute at Tulane University organizes and sponsors a variety of events during the course of a typical academic year.

These range from lectures open to the general public to smaller scale scholarly conferences and seminars that are more specialized and sometimes invitation-only occasions.

The Murphy Institute was established in memory of Charles H. Murphy, Sr., and inspired by the vision of Charles H. Murphy, Jr., the Murphy Institute exists to help Tulane faculty and students understand economic, moral, and political problems we all face and think about. More important, it exists to help us understand how these problems have come to be so closely interconnected.
