I had a thought it would be similar to like the ds to 3ds as well but the additional concepts are interesting. I never got the OLED as I had no need for it so I never knew there were already compatibility issues. Hopefully if they do that, they make sure you can somehow port over save files even though they are not typically compatible.

Wouldn’t even be the same game, there is a reason wild Pokémon give EV’s and breeding has IV methods, they want you to do it in game. Using external devices to create Pokémon to use in a competition is not legal and never should be. If you don’t have the old games then you don’t get to use the Pokémon you’re missing, there are plenty of options just in SV, if you don’t have all the games then you’re not serious and should do poorly against someone who is experienced like 99% of chess games with un equal skill level.

@@drizzho the thing is though in chess your skill isn't based on factors like, do you own other chess games like 5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel because your opponent might pull a Jurassic rook move on you.

@@sam7559hacked Pokémon won’t be an issue with set 8 Pokémon team with moves items and iv Ev and nature all laid out on paper. Those 8 are Pokémon are allowed to be used for said event. Honestly don’t know why Iv setting isn’t a late game feature yet.

You have a 1/5120 chance to roll a 0 atk 0 spe legendary, so the requirement is actually the ability to rng manipulate.

I have absolutely no idea how the hacking actually works. If you plan on playing competitive, it would be strongly advised against so you do not run a risk of paying funds to enter a competition only to get disqualified. It is currently against the rules so don't do it.

Now, only if the pokemon does not already have a nickname, then you can nickname the pokemon...but only once so you have to have the name just right. I truly enjoy naming my competitive pokemon. However all pokemon that I use have my trainer name attached to them. Of course the ID number is different depending on which actual game file they came from but the nostalgia is still there for all of them.

Gamefreak literally gave permission for showdown to exist lmao. Also all VGC players use it to team build before making it in game. I love how you went full mask off and just don't want anyone you don't like to be able to enjoy the game, even if it ruins it for people you supposedly like.

That would be quite excessive and would probably only hurt the company as a whole. Though they do not run Showdown, if they were to put a stop to it they will lose a great deal of revenue. Especially when some people play with all pokemon on open formats to enjoy full pokedex access.

The issue isn't with perfect 31 IVs, it's with when you want 0 IVs (which you want on special attackers in order to minimise foul play and confusion damage, or on trick room mons for speed) which you can't obtain with bottle caps. This is especially an issue with pokemon such as enamorus who come from Pokemon: Legends Arceus which is a game that doesn't let you see your IVs, which means you can't see if your enamorus has the correct IVs until you've transferred it to Scarlet/Violet where if you want to reset for IVs you'd have to play through the entire game again as you can only get it once.

This hasn't been an issue since gen 6. As of generation 7, you can use bottle caps to increase your Pokemon's IVs to 31. You also can make your nature whatever you want and switch to whatever ability you want as of gen 8. Even shiny hunting is a joke now. The only real valid complaint left at this point is if you want to change moves you have to use more PP ups on the new move. In terms of skill gaps, you can always use showdown as a tool to practice before you make your team.

But the thing is, there is no other E-sport where you need to farm to get stats into your "character". You don't go grinding into CS GO to be able that in the day of the tournament you have an AK47 unlocked to be able to buy and use that day. Same for idk DOTA 2, you don't have to farm to grind items to be able to use them. The only thing close to this is FIFA, but pro's just spend money getting X cards to use, they don't "grind". Pokémon is one of the only E-sports where you spend 90% of your time grinding for Pokémon and 10% actually playing the game. The newer gens are making things easier, now you can catch a Pokémon and for "free" just max is stats, it takes 10 min to get a good Pokémon. There is the "Oh Pokémon Home is making unobtainable Pokémon legit for tournaments" and there is kinda of an argument there, because VCG is more than just the "fights" we also have juniors and you expect a kid who is 11 years old, when he was 6 to have a Switch, at least one copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield AND it's DLC, it's kinda stupid. Is hacking Pokémon ok? Ofc not, BUT it's strange that ONLY a few are getting caught while bigger players are still out there playing, advertising to the game like nothing is happening.

@@ricardofernandes9207 this fair my point was more about it take effort to compete. Everyone I’ve seen says they don’t have time to grind reset for an ideal IVd Pokemon… ok then don’t compete. These “pro” players spend thousands traveling across the world to compete but they can’t drop a few hundred to make sure they have all the games? Juniors I get but again if they are willing to travel to compete they can also be expected to have the games needed. As to why the bigger player didn’t get caught is either A. They have harder to spot jacked Pokemon or B. They only had 1 or 2 hacked moms on their team. But it is good that Japan and TPCI put their foot down and said this is bullshit because legit nearly every “pro” player has been caught cheating using PKHex Pokemon before. Wolfey, Brady Smith, Cybertron and the list goes on and on.

Having it as an in-game system will definitely keep remove the issue of loss of sales of the game itself. So for a business aspect it can be a win-win.

Well the game is more accessible than ever you can change stats of your Pokémon and obtaining bottle caps mints ability patches is easy you just have to just play the game

It is no longer true that the only way to obtain pokemon is by soft resetting. You can now use hyper training and mints.

Of course I do! Been working in the ICU and dealing with a lot of Covid patients during this pandemic so the hours have been extensive. After the robbery last year I have been slowly rebuilding the last 15-20 years of lost work. I plan to start streaming again soon, especially now that VGC Regionals will be returning next year (provided the pandemic calms down). How are you?
