The Greatest Threat in Roman Republic History
The Roman Empire was kind of a big deal, but there was one man that came close to completely destroying Rome while it was still a young republic....
*CORRECTION* 2:22
Hamilcar was not the king of Carthage, but was a high ranking general and statesman. Apologies.

Do you guys learn more about Waterloo or the battle of Leipzig? Because in germany the battle of Leipzig is way more important. It has even another way more suiting name. Its called "Völkerschlacht" (battle of the Nations)

Waterloo decided nothing. Napoleon was doomed anyway. Gettysburg was most importand battle of last 200 years. Just imagine a world with two american states and without USA intervention in both world wars.

I am surprised the siege of Jerusalem in 1187 when Christians forces surrender to Salid. Didn't make the list . If the Crusaders would have held on to Instabul. The Middle East would have been a mixture of Christians and Muslims. Not just a majority of Muslims. I am just surprised none of the Crusade battles didn't make the list.

The Battle of Waterloo isn't that Important to be honest. Although yes it was the battle the ended his career once and for all it wasn't the defining battle that lead to his ultimate decline (which would be the invasion of Russia). Napoleon didn't have any chance of winning the Hundred Days period at all. During the Hundred Days period Napoleon had to deal with staggering Supply Lines, Organizing the Armies due to the death of Marshal Berthier. Alongside this Army was hasty made up of 16yr Old Conscripts with very few Veteran/Seasoned Troops and Napoleon was contending against the finest Veterans that the Coalition army had to offer. With all these factors it would've caved onto Napoleon. Waterloo wasn't important in that the end for Napoleon was already signed and he had no hope in turning the situation around

200, 000 men in first battle, now that is a big load of bs, in ancient times it was really hard to deal with 10,000 men in a small place, and i am only talking about the amount of shit (literal shit) that people and animals will do that needs to be taken care of andf depose of. stop using the numbers that ancients give you and get your head out of your ass and estimate a more real number.

About Hastings: the English culture it self didn’t exist during ANGLO SAXON times; so the correct affirmation would be “Anglo-Saxons” not “English”, as the English culture only appears after the merging of the Anglo-Saxon and Norman cultures, forming the hybrid English culture we know today.
