No Sleepless Nights

Добавлен 28 окт 2013
Hi! I'm Ethan. I review and compare sleep tech and bedroom products in depth to help people make informed choices.
I believe in covering every possible detail when I do reviews, and I don't avoid the downsides as I know how important is to people to get the whole picture.
On this channel, I like to focus on practical solutions to common sleep disruptors, such as:
- Sleep headphones for a comfortable audio experience.
- White noise machines for ambient sounds and noise masking.
- Earplugs for silence.
- Sleep masks to block light.
- Weighted blankets for a snug feel.
- Bed cooling for hot weather.
- Mattresses for, well, not sleeping on the floor.
Consider subscribing if that sounds interesting. If I haven't already, maybe I'll cover something in the future that has the potential to make a big difference to your sleep.
Sleep well!

Loop Earplugs Review: Are They Better Than Foam?
In this review, I compare the Loop Dream, Quiet 2, and Experience 2 Plus earplugs. I bought all three, and have spent several weeks using them at home and while out and about. I also did some specific noise tests to see how well they reduce noise compared to foam, wax, and silicone earplugs.

Roffie White Noise Machine Review (Now Discontinued)
Have you tried the fresh me sleep mask? I wonder which one should I get. Fresh me or Alaska bear. I am a side sleeper, and fresh me is around 15$ cheaper.
I haven't tried that one. Which currency do you use that means it's $15 cheaper?
Thanks for the great review. Do you plan to do the same for Ozlo?
You're welcome, glad you liked it! Yes, I am working on it now. I originally intended to publish my Ozlo review before Christmas, but I was ill for a few weeks, so it has been delayed.
Is the Manta hot?
If you live in a warm country and find material around your head hot, then it might be because it is bigger and thicker than many other sleep masks.
Your reviews are really helpful. I've been using my honeywell air purifier for 11 years as a sound machine for sleep. It's gotten very noisy over the years and finally died. I actually sleep really good with that loud racket. So I bought 3 air purifiers, 2 fans, and 3 white noise machines to see which would be loud enough to replace it. All 3 air purifiers are way too quiet. The fans were ok, not quite loud enough and too cold for winter. The 3 white noise machines I tried were the dohm, the lectrofan Evo, and the lecrosound 2. The lectrofan Evo won. The other 2 aren't loud enough. I also learned that I can't stand true white noise, I much prefer brown noise. Oh! I also tried the yogasleep nod, $20 from Walmart. I would've kept it if I couldn't get the lectrofan. It's a good budget option
Thanks! I'm happy to hear the reviews were helpful. Your comments is also very helpful. I'm not surprised the Evo won in your test. If they made air purifiers as loud as the Evo, they would end up with a lot of returns!
No thunder storm. Forget it.
Thunder on small white noise machines like this never sounds good anyway. They struggle with the bass.
Hey! I'm a sensitive sleeper and I can't sleep without complete silence. Fan sounds and some background noise far away are okay for me . But recently I had a roommate change and she always talks on phone, and uses media with speaker. Can you suggest me something that'll block the noise completely? Specially phone sounds?
Hiyah. It's really difficult to give an accurate answer to your situation because the noise is right there in the room with you and from what you describe, consists of different sounds rather than a repetitive one. It also depends on how loud the sounds are exactly, what frequency etc, and your hearing. But, I'd be tempted to say the Dream will probably block some of the noise she makes, but maybe not all. You'll probably block more with appropriately sized foam earplugs with a high noise reduction rating (ideally close to 33 dB). Some really good noise cancelling headphones might help, but less so if the sounds are random, sudden, and loud. Asking your roommate politely to use headphones when you're obviously sleeping would help even more than any product you can buy. She might not stop talking, but if she can whisper or talk quietly when you're sleeping, at least the headphones would stop the media noise. It seems like the obvious respectful thing to do in my opinion, so hopefully she'll agree if you ask her nicely and frame it in terms of you being sensitive to noise rather than her being a nuisance:-)
@nosleeplessnights1 Heyyy thank you so much!!! I've tried talking to her but it's of no use. I'm just stuck with her for now it seems. But I've ordered some foam ear plugs and I'm waiting to use it. Let's see if it works. Hope it does!
No problem. Sorry to hear that. It's not easy having a roommate and being the one who sleeps earlier! Hopefully the earplugs will help. If not, try wearing over-ear headphones on top and playing some form of white noise as quietly as you can tolerate. That double barrier might not be the most comfortable, but it can work really well in moments of desperation!
My remote wants to pair to the unit. How do I get the the Home Screen that you have?
Do you mean the home screen on the phone app?
I dont like when I hear my pulse and heart beats when I sleep on my side with my silicone earplugs, Do you think Loop Dream is better?
I can't say for sure, but the occlusion effect is always there with earplugs. If you're sensitive to it, then I imagine you'll still notice them.
Ordered some dreams based on this video as I'm most concerned with comfort when sleeping on side + staying place all night. Are there any foams brands that compare in that regard to the dream?
I think it depends more on getting foam earplugs that fit you well rather than the specific brand. Personally, I don't have a problem sleeping on my side with the right foam earplugs and they don't fall out when I fit them correctly. Sorry the answer is a bit vague, but I don't think it would be right to say 'this brand is particularly good for side sleepers and stays in'. It's just foam after all, so it's more about the right fit for your ear canal.
@@nosleeplessnights1 appreciate the feedback. I'll try some various foams and see what works - I've just never seen any that actually fit in the ear verse sticking out half an inch/get caught on the pillows etc.
No problem. I recommend looking online rather than in shops. There are some smaller ones, like the Mack's Ultra Soft and Mack's Dreamgirl. I'm sure there are others if you look around, but those are ones I've tried myself.
Hi, when you snooze it in the morning, can it stop the sound/ alarm but keep the light on bright? ( as still need to wake up, not fall asleep completely again)
Hi! Yes, all the wake up lights (to my knowledge) only snooze the sound, while the light remains on.
Great thank you
really helpful review . thanks
You're welcome - thanks for the feedback too.
Great review, thanks!
You're welcome!
Which one would you recommend for commuting on a noisy train to go to work?
It depends how much noise you want to block out. The Quiet 2 block a lot more than the Experience 2 Plus. I wouldn't use the Dream outside the bedroom personally. There are other Loop styles which I haven't tried, so it might be worth seeing what others have to say about those too.
@@nosleeplessnights1 i guess thats why they call it dream.
Yes. I mean, you can wear them outside if you want. There's nothing technically wrong about doing that. I just personally prefer to keep bedroom earplugs inside the bedroom for hygiene reasons. It's probably force of habit as much as actually necessary!
Thanks for the response. I ride the train with noise levels ranging from 77 dBA - 89 dBA. Sometimes noise cancelling headphones don’t seem like enough which is why I was looking to wear these underneath. I got the quiet version. Hoping it improves my commuting experience.
If you wear earplugs underneath good noise cancelling headphones it will definitely block out a lot more. With some sounds or music too, you should be able to create a little audio cocoon.
Thank you so much for this nice video! I struggle a lot with foam earplugs since I get sore ears after a few nights of wearing them.. If they stay in at night. I'm considering the Daily Calm Bundle from Loop with the Loop Dream and Engage 2 Plus. Do you have any experience with the Engage 2 or Engage 2 Plus? They wouldn't be for sleeping purposes but for university, like when I want to talk to people , listen to my professor or simply when I become overwhelmed by the noises
i just got them, they are amazing. i struggle with eating and drinking sounds, and they almost completely mute them.
You're very welcome - I'm glad you liked the video. If the foam earplugs feel sore and fall out, it's possible they are too big. It might be worth trying a smaller style at some point. But, it might also just be that you're sensitive to the expanding foam, which many people are. I haven't tried the Engage style, so can't give you any advice on those. I've just noticed someone else has replied though, so maybe that will help.
The sound combination recommendations, and your tests against 65db noise was very very helpful. Appreciate your help in this video!
Thanks for your feedback. It's always good to know which specific sections people appreciate.
Very good videos. Please make review on Ozlo Sleepbuds thanks
Thanks! That will be the next video I publish. I had a break over Christmas, but will get it done this month!
Does anyone know how to stop the bing bong noise the a20 make when they run out of battery. My Bose finally stopped working 😢
There is a setting in the app to turn off any notification sounds.
Can these be used without an App? Im essentially just looking for a simple pair of sleep-compatible headphones. I've always resorted to using over-ear headphones as there's just nothing good that i can find. And im a side sleeper, so guess who's headset snapped in half and is now held together with duct tape? All the settings and such just seem unnecessary and exist to bolster the price only. Surely they can be just plain old headphones built for comfort without all the clutter and unwanted apps everything seems to need these days.
Unfortunately not. You need the app to pair them in the first place. I haven't tried deleting the app afterwards to see if they would still work, but I doubt it. Have you tried any of the sleep headbands? They aren't as good in terms of sound quality, but they don't need an app usually and can be comfortable for side sleepers.
This video is not only an in depth review about the products bit also a refreshing display of etiquette, presentation and articulation.
That's very kind of you to say - thank you!
@@nosleeplessnights1 you're very welcome. 😄
Amazing. Thank you so much. I am a mature student and live in halls. I lost so much sleep and developed insomnia due to my flatmates who have no self awareness about the noise they produce. They keep acting surprised that I ask them to be quiet at night, after screaming in the hallway or talking so loud I can hear their whole conversation through the wall between 11pm-5am (always these times, even during the workweek). Anyway. I had to admit after being sleep deprived for 2 months and developing physical signs of it, that I need headphones. I recovered a bit now over the holiday, but am getting anxious of the idea to go back there, considering exams are in 2 weeks. I pray to god that the loop dream work to help me survive the next 6 months with them! Kudos!
You're welcome - glad you liked the video. I can understand - it was the same when I was in halls many moons ago. Unfortunately, they are very noisy places to live, and I can't imagine that is ever likely to change unless we enter a world where nobody parties any more and young people all go to bed at 10pm. Hopefully the Loop Dream will help a bit. I would consider getting some really good foam earplugs as well as a backup (or main earplug if you like them) as the noise reduction will be be better. Headphones with sound masking and/or noise cancellation can also be very good. Practical things like a portable draft excluder at the bottom of the door might help too if there's a big gap, and having fabrics / furniture to soak up a bit of the sound energy. Best of luck - with the noise and the exams.
@@nosleeplessnights1 Thank you so much for all the advice! I now ordered the Loop Dream and even got a small Student Discount. The idea with the draft excluder is amazing. Will get one! Especially as they sometimes cook during those times as well, so the smell also disturbs my sleep haha. Thank you! Am looking forward to a first half of 2025 with good daily sleep haha. Wish you all the best as well!
No problem. I hope it works out for you - let me know!
Just got one of these thank you for your review!
You're welcome - I hope you like it!
Thanks for the video. After trying all these products on your channel, what do you currently use most nights?
You're welcome! That's a good question. Do you mean out of every product I've mentioned across all the videos since I started the channel, or just earplugs?
I sleep in a room with a noisy little freezer fan ticking. The rhythm and higher pitch part of the sound hurts my ears after a few hrs. Deeper sounds like brown noise tracks on youtube playing on my iPad all night helps. So I’m looking at buying a devise like this. But the higher pitch white noise hurts my ears but some deeper brown sounds are nice. Why would this be? Thanks for the content.
You're welcome! I can't explain the physiological reason it hurts your ears, but I can tell you it's common for people not to like bright white noise. This is one of the main reasons they started making white noise machines with pink, brown, or whatever it actually is, noise that has more energy in the lower frequencies. I am the same - it doesn't hurt my ears, but I don't like it for extended periods of time. Deep brown noise that feels more like a waterfall or rain is much more pleasant than white noise that sounds like TV static. To get good pink or brown noise, you need to choose one with a half-decent speaker - or just get a good Bluetooth speaker and hook it up to your iPad.
@ thankyou , that helps me understand a little 🙏, peace
You're welcome!
Thanks. It'd be nice if they'd make one that doesn't require the use of a phone to operate. I would buy it.
You can operate it without a phone. You just can't access all the features, which is a shame - but also not uncommon with sleep tech these days. The Yogasleep fan white noise machines don't need a phone, as one alternative.
Can you use just one single cloud sheet on a king sized bed if your partner has no desire or wish to sleep under a sheet? Otherwise i can see the sheet being a bit annoying for the partner that has no bed jet. Also how do you ensure the cloud sheet doesnt bunch up or get dragged across the bed by your partner especially if you normally use two duvets to avoid this happening?
Yes you can do that if you want to. I think that also answers your second question? If you did use a king size cloud sheet and they have a habit of 2 a.m. personal nest making, then it will happen with the cloudsheet in the same way as a duvet.
People who wear earplugs, how do you wake up on time in the morning? I might have to consider using them during summer due to potentially noisy farm animals by apartment but I'm scared that I'll oversleep and be late to work 😅
I use a vibrating smartwatch activity and sleep trackers. I also use a wake-up light sometimes. But, even with earplugs I can hear a loud alarm if it's right next to my head. If you're a heavy sleeper, it could be an issue though.
Sounds like smartwatch works for many people when using earplugs thanks for the help.
No problem!
anything too stop that loud barking german Shepard next door!
Loud dog barking is very difficult to block out. Headphones and earplugs may be a better bet than a white noise machine.
Very insightful and well presented, thanks for this video!
You're welcome - I'm glad you liked the video!
My respect for this review. Nicely produced, intelligent, clear, good video and audio. Thank you. Specifically, as someone who has been dithering about buying some of these - I have various ear buds and sleep bands which are either uncomfortable or otherwise sub-optimal - I think it's time to get my wallet out!
Thank you for your nice feedback, I always really appreciate that. Out of interest, which ones do you have that haven't quite worked for you? I've tried sleep sleep bands in the past, so I know there is a big difference in quality between the better made ones and the cheap copies. It's a bit of a minefield with those! If you do get the A20s, I hope you like them. Let me know if you have time in the future and remember my channel:-)
I have several of the sleep bands which are usually branded with some slightly strange Chinese/English text (Mosicozy, Enjoying, Inktopoint...). Essentially the bands work OK and run through the night without shouting 'LOW BATTERY', like you need to abandon ship or some other emergency! The problem is that they rotate as you change position so you start off listening to an audio book and end up with distant muttering. Additionally, the manufacturers try moving the rigid battery/switch from the front to the side of back: invariably it ends up uncomfortable but the Wonder Woman central front position is the least-worst option for me. I use the night audio to shut up my over active mind, rather than drown out partner snoring (women don't snore, sweat, fart or swear anyway, of course...). I have the excellent Soundcore Liberty 4 NC ear buds and some from Technics, both of which are superb, but unless you're a fidget-free back sleeper (or dead...) these wake you up pretty quickly if you roll onto your side, even on the softest pillow. BTW: I've also tried a couple of audio pillows. These are borderline OK and essentially a badly implemented, good idea! Generally they are too quiet for me and hopeless unless you're right on the speaker. The Soundcore v1 and v2 sleep buds get very mixed reviews both in terms of comfort/useability and reliability in terms of charging. I've ordered some but paid the optional £10 to get swap-out warranty cover. We shall see how it goes, but thanks again for the detailed appraisal: I appreciated it. John
Isn't the Manta mask strap hook too lumpy when sleeping on the back?
If you have a firm pillow, it could be. I found it okay with a soft pillow though. It also depends on how sensitive you are to the feeling of these strap. There is always going to be some material behind your head by nature of their design. The question is where is each person's own line between it being tolerable and uncomfortable?
@nosleeplessnights1 Thank you!
No problem
Will this help with thudding noise from upstairs neighbor?
That's an impossible question for me to answer because I don't know how loud it is, how your hearing is, and what settings on the A20 you would happily tolerate. So the only answer I can give is unfortunately a vague 'maybe'. But I suspect if it's very loud banging, you'd need the volume turned up quite high to mask it, with an intense mix of white/pink/brown noise tracks. I would test how much you can tolerate that with normal headphones and pink or brown noise from a service like RUclips or Spotify before buying the A20.
@ thank you for your suggestion. I appreciate it.
No problem
Do you think some earbuds with ANC (for example Sony's) would be better than these since they only have passive noise cancellation? Or they're good enough for the purpose? What are they like when compared to ANC feature?
If you can wear normal headphones comfortably in bed, and they have excellent noise cancellation, then I don't see the need to spend money on sleep-specific headphones. These headphones are really designed for people who can't wear normal headphones in bed. That may be because you sleep on your side or front, or your normal headphones are too bulky, or they irritate your ears after 7-9 hours. Most people change position in the night anyway, so even if you feel you are a back sleeper, it's possible you will wake in the night lying uncomfortably on your normal headphones. But if you don't, and they work just fine for you, then keep those and save your money.
@nosleeplessnights1 l still haven't got any earbuds, l'm trying to decide between soundcore a20 and some earbuds with ANC, l mainly want these for sleep when travelling. If we disregard comfort, are there any earbuds with ANC that can: (1) work when not connected to Bluetooth (like soundcore a20 can), and (2) that have got good battery life with ANC on to last through the night? Thank you in advance for your response! I really appreciate your opinion! (Thanks to you I bought Lectrofan Evo which is excellent for my home use.) *I've just read that soundcore a20 is rather low in volume in sleep mode, is that true? Is it useful then for sound masking?
I'm glad you liked the Evo! That's great to hear. Okay, so if you're deciding what to buy when travelling, if it's for flying, I would 100% get normal headphones with ANC. There are no dedicated sleep headphones with ANC and audio playback. The Quieton 3.1 had kind of reasonable ANC, but no audio. The company also had all sorts of problems, with many people having issues with refunds. They also went bankrupt, then set up again as a distributor, so I'm not sure what their long-term outlook is. The A20 are quieter in sleep mode, yes. But with noise masking and the volume turned up, they can still mask a lot of exernal noise. But if you use them in a noisy setting, like a plane, you'll just end up with extra noise on top of the noise. If you mean for hotels or other accommodation, then you could use the Soundcore or normal headphones. I don't think I'd have a preference. For me, however, the main question would be this: do you want to use them to listen to music or other audio when you are awake and travelling? If so, I would always choose normal headphones with ANC over any sleep headphones. I am currently testing the Ozlo, for example, and will say the same about them: good for sleep, not good for daytime use.
@@nosleeplessnights1 I meant to use these for sleeping in hotels in the first place🙂. I'm used to listening to white noise as I am a light sleeper, and therefore I'm looking for something that would be practical and easy to carry around. Thanks a lot for your expert opinion😊, you clarified some things to me! I might give soundcore a20 a try. In case it doesn't work, I'll get an extra backup with ANC headphones.
No problem. In that case, they might be a good choice. Another factor is the good battery life, which is useful if you're out of your usual device charging routine and on the go.
When fully charged, how long will it go if no timer is set?
It should last up to around 10 hours, but maybe less depending on how you use it.
is the sound leakage noticeable in a quit room?
With the volume turned up, it is noticeable - but it depends what you're listening to as to how noticeable.
Why is the newer A20i model so much cheaper? They are going for $20 on Amazon, yet the older A20 model is getting sold for $120.
Hi! It is not a newer version of the Soundcore Sleep A20 - it is just a normal low-cost pair of headphones from Anker. It is a bit confusing, and probably would have been better if they called them something different...
Can I pair earbuds with a white noise machine (bluetooth), so I don't use my phone's battery? I would prefer using a white noise machine + earbuds. Please answer🙏
This is not a common feature with white noise machines. There are lots that have a wired headphone jack, but Bluetooth is rare. The only one I can think of right now is the Sound+Sleep Aquarius. But that one has some other issues to be aware of, and only plays water sounds. If I think of any others, I'll let you know!
@nosleeplessnights1 Thank you very much for the response!
No problem
Thank you for this review! Super helpful
You're welcome, I'm happy to hear it was helpful.
I wish all reviews were as thorough as yours! Bravo 👏
That's very kind of you to say - thank you!
hi, i have dream loops, bu i can listem my voice normally and i keep listening my neighbors dragging their chairs all the time. can you please help me ? :)
Hi! What do you mean exactly by listening to your voice normally? Are you saying you don't hear it differently, as I described? That might mean you either have the wrong size tips or you haven't inserted them correctly. As for the noise of moving furniture - that is unfortunately very difficult to block out sometimes. If it's very loud, I don't think the Loop earplugs will block it out completely. For that, you might need earplugs with a higher noise reduction rating (probably foam) or headphones with noise masking. There are other ways you can look into to soak up more of the sound energy in your bedroom, but then you are into a different area of sound insulation.
Hello, I have sent an email just now :)
If it's about picking headphones, I think I got it and replied.
I love mine
I just got one from my stepson today for Christmas.
What about loud upstairs neighbors stomping walking and thumping hence why im here at 2am becuse of the noise cannot sleep.
I feel for you - I know that's a really difficult noise source to block out. I haven't been able to test that with these earplugs, but I do plan on doing some specific tests for impact noise above a bedroom next year. I know that doesn't help you out right now though! My guess would be that if it's really loud, and impact noise rather than just airborne, you'll have a better chance of cutting more out with earplugs that have the highest noise reduction rating possible or headphones with noise masking.
@dholman5513, I feel for you, I like to use foam earplugs because they reduce the most noise. I like to roll them between my thumb and finger and then slide the plugs in my ear and let them expand. Trying not to go too too deep so I can remove them in the morning. I also recommend doing things to help get deep sleep, like taking magnesium, b complex and zinc, exercising. Stretching before bed, and perhaps very important, having perfect dental hygiene. Hope that helps, cheers
Hi. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Without wanting to offend you, just to mention for anyone else reading this that it's important to carefully research supplementation specifically for sleep:-)
wow a great production video , great review mr
Thank you very much for your nice feedback:-)
Hi Is this all relevant to 2024 any new updates? Any relative videos...link 🙂 Thanks
Hi there. So, I still use the Mack's Ultra Soft and still really like them. If you watch some of my most recent videos, I used them for testing the sound masking compared to the Loop earplugs and Soundcore Sleep A20, for example. The Howard Leight Small and Brison were discontinued. All the others still exist, though there may have been some changes over time to the packaging and colours, as manufacturers seem to like tinkering with earplugs. I plan on doing a more recent update of this video next year at some point. I would probably include some of the same from this video, and maybe include some newer ones like the Loop.
@ thank you! Timely 1st time buyer What brought me here was researching the loop options 🙂. Quiet 2 and the Dream...for example. On the higher budget side. I may go w the Mack's Ultra for now Any thoughts on the Loop products or have you tried or tested yet? Dream or quiet 2
I recently did a video comparing the Dream, Quiet 2, and Experience 2 Plus. You can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/77fhevHUv7A/видео.html
@@nosleeplessnights1 thanks
Silicone tree earplugs are simply the best, better than my foamies and loop exp+. 3M earmuffs are the only better but can't sleep or shower with those
I haven't tried those, but I've seen them in Boots in the UK. My experience hasn't been great with that style in the past, but if they work for you, that's all that matters:-)
Just echoing everyone else's glowing praise for the review, I'm pretty happy with my A20's but the only niggle/query I have is regarding the Graphic Equaliser function within the app. I have stored the maximum number of custom sounds (4) within the "Sleep" mode and wanted to tweak them further with the Graphic EQ but can't seem to apply the EQ in real time, it's the only part of the process that seems a bit sketchy, I can fiddle endlessly with the sliders but there's no way of hearing the resulting effect on the sound to determine what's happening, the side and bottom graphic info also isn't illuminated as seen in the video. Any step-by-step advice would be greatly appreciated!🙂
Hi, thanks for your kind words, and for sharing your experience with the A20s. I just put them in to see if I could work out what the problem is, and I think I cracked it. Basically, you can't use the EQ when you're in sleep mode. Once you load the 4 sleep sounds onto the earbuds, they will stay as they are. You have to delete one of them, go back into Bluetooth mode, enter back into the audio library white noise options, choose or mix your sounds, and then open up the EQ to refine them in real time. Once you've done that, go back into the white noise sounds in the audio library and load the final masterpiece back onto the ear buds. Let me know if that works, and if not, I'll have another look. As for the graphic info, which one do you mean exactly? It may be your phone being different from mine, or a recent update, because I didn't edit the lighting of the app at all before I published the video. It may have been the way my camera picked it up as it's tricky to film the colours of some app screens, so if you tell me which one you mean I can double check.
@@nosleeplessnights1 Thanks for doing due diligence, I've been too busy with the final run-up to the madness of Christmas to rejig the stored sounds but will definitely attend to it post-Dec 25th and report back. I do find the Soundcore App a bit clunky for my liking though, it's hardly a seamless user-friendly experience for someone who's of my generation and stuffing around with it on a small screen only compounds this for me. When I use the tap function to control volume for example, the output seems to lower or raise by a massive amount, not incrementally, which then forces me to grope around for my phone in the middle of the night to adjust the slider within the app, anyway I'm actually very happy with the the earbuds despite all this and will get back to you in the New Year, hope you a have a good one ....
Oh just remembered the business with the Graphic Equaliser function, it will probably change when I go to use it in Bluetooth mode but the Hz and dB graphs are greyed out even though the sliders themselves are functional...
I know what you mean; it's a busy time of the year! I also know what you mean about the app...it can be confusing to use for sure. I hope you manage to get the sounds sorted out when you have time. The tap controls are a bit hit or miss, as I mentioned in the video. But at least there are tap controls! I've been testing the Ozlo sleep buds, and one thing that annoys me is the lack of tap controls, so you always have to use your phone to change any settings. As for the equaliser, I'm still not sure what doesn't match my video. I just checked again, and my equaliser still looks just like I showed in the video. And that is with the sliders brighter, and the dB and kHz levels more greyed out. That's the way they are meant to be. Maybe they just look different on your device?
Very impressed with these buds. They're a bit pricy imo. But they work well. I've long used Galaxy buds 2 for sleep as they're smaller. But these are much more comfy in that regard. Great sound quality as well. Sound much better than i thought they would given their size.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I never imagined my channel would be visited by John Wick, but I guess hitmen need to sleep too😉 It's all relative, but I can see them being viewed as pricey compared to many standard daytime use headphones - if you want to compare them to the entire range of available headphones out there. At least they are less expensive than the Kokoon and Ozlo sleep buds. There seems to be a bit of a premium put on this style of sleep headphones at the moment. Perhaps because there just aren't enough competitors making them to bring the price down.
No video has ever shown the ties!!! How do you attach the ties of the cover to the insert with the burrito method?!
That's a good question. My duvet doesn't have ties, so I couldn't do that. I believe you tie them once you've laid the duvet cover flat on the duvet. It might take some experimenting with to see how it works with your particular duvet.
Thanks for this in-depth review! Maybe you can answer how well these headphones will mask the sound of someone speaking in the same room. Or in that case it's better to use regular headphones with ANC.
You're welcome. I think that depends on how loudly they are talking, and which settings you use. I think it is definitely possible, but might require higher volume levels if they speak loudly and close to you. Regular headphones with ANC can work well, but only very good ones and again only if they don't speak too loudly if you only use them for ANC without music or other sounds.
@@nosleeplessnights1 Thank you very much for your answer!
@neligio6167 no problem at all.
