TRIMMING THE MIATA'S BUMPER TO FIT THE CORVETTE COLD AIR INTAKE SNORKEL
Sweet!
@torontokyle Thanks, love that sound.
Is the long bolt threaded in backwards then (twist right to loosen)
No, it's a regular bolt, I found spinning it backwards freed it up faster.
Ovlov!!!
I was so excited to use my new hydraulic press that I just shoved the bearing straight on that hub lmao. Now to figure out the rest..........
EXTREMELY ENJOYED YOUR INFORMAL VIDEO HIGHLY THANKS
@IAMONEONLY-f2r Thank you much. Just trying to give back to the community.
Just what I needed. Thank You👍
Any ideas where to find this type of pipe? I checked with local plumbing supply stores and they don't carry anything like this. Most is too brittle and will not flex.
@@djnv I picked up a short length at a steel supply store.
Thank you. My cam am defender has the same plug and a rat chewed all the wires up and and can am said I couldn’t just get the pigtail I needed the whole harness
Dude I love you
LS swap is crazy. What is your favorite mod?
The whole car is a mod, everything was touched during the build.
@@miatajackdiy4293 nice build! Can’t say I ain’t jealous, too bad we have to do smog here.
How do you like it so far? Pros and cons?
I like everything about it, runs like a champ. She still handles like a dream and has power to spare.
Thank you!
It may sound dumb but I appreciate this I was able to figure out the correct Orientation of the clutch disk, thanks
Stellar help, thanks!
Thank you.
No flare needed?
Nope, this is a compression fitting and is self locking.
Nice tools but most folks are going to go at this with hammers. Those bearings are much harder than you think. I have never ruined one.
It's only a hundred dollar press from marketplace and you can use sockets or whatever you have lying around the shop to press things out.
Left a rag in there
Nah, took it out before I put the front timing cover on, I toasted that engine at the track. I've opened it up and no rag.
Racecar? You mean clown car
What is that suppose to mean?
Well done! Exactly what I needed. Thank you.!
By far the video out there for this part of the project, better than any of the manuals even. Thank you!
Super helpful. Thank you for making this so to the point! ^_^
Glad it was helpful!
Just popped mine too: had to use full weight on them the make them spin with the breaker bar! Thank you for the tip! (they were actually seized in the hub; not the sleeves)
Those look awesome. I bet they'll handle great.
They come highly recommended for a dailly driver that can still cut a canyon road very well. Suppose to be an amazing ride. I've decided not to beat up my Ls swapped Miata at the track anymore and just do more driving trips in my car.
Enjoy!
Thank you so much for all the amazing help you gave to make this happen. It only took a few days all the way to Canada.
We’re did you get the tool at ?
Amazon.ca I think. They cost a little money but we'll worth it to not have a sral leak.

Thanks buddy. I used this video and your close ups to de-pin the fuel pressure sensor on my Holley. Thanks
This!!! I have been trying to get this bolt loose for 15 years. I watched this video yesterday, did exactly what this guy did, and it came loose exactly like it did in the video. Thanks for sharing this!!!
15 years, wow, I'm sure glad I could help. That's a long time...lol,
Has anyone tried this with a ‘72 350 sbc? It’s still in the car so I’m trying to figure out how small of a clamp will work.
Dunno, I think the engine has to be clear of the transmission first. The clamp can be smaller for sure.
@@miatajackdiy4293 sorry, meant to say the motor is still in the car. I pulled the transmission and trying to get the new one on but it needs new alignment dowels.
@DeathFromAbove2005 Should be no problem then. What I sometimes do is to tighten it securely then give it a little tap with a hammer and it usually pops like a balljoint.
Trump 2024
I wonder if you can do it with the hardline on the car while it's on jackstands
If the tank is still in the car I don't think can be reached from the bottom and there is not much room at the top through the inspection hole.
I was thinking of cutting the fuel line just before the subframe and connect it with an line to route it to the fuel rail.
This actually worked i can't believe it... I thought that bolt was going to be stuck in there forever ngl.
Both of mine were stuck solid. It took me two tries before I figured this out.
@@miatajackdiy4293 pretty much the same for me, tried before and gave up, but i HAD to get it out now because my rear wheel bearing failed. This did the trick. Thanks once again, i'll share the video.
What paint did you use for the DIff/Brackets/SwayBar? or are they powder coated?
Just some local spray enamel. Eventually I would like to powerboat everything.
So, I removed the rockers before seeing this video. I didn’t follow any method, just loosened and took em off. What kind of issues could this cause?
I don't think taking g them off affects anything. It's about getting the torque right when installing.

Hello there, I have analyzed your RUclips channel and found some problems. Do you want to talk about it for a while? I want to show some problems .
Hi Jack, trying to find a video of yours on it. Did you swap your clutch master cylinder for the CD trans? I am using a cd as well in my v8 swap. Noticed the bore sizes are the same (5/8) for both stock 350z and Miata. My thought is I can use a stock master as long as I build the correct lines to connect the two. Would love your input and what you did. Thanks!
I first put in a Tilton 7/8" bore universal MC then switched to a 3/4", maybe should have used a 5/8", not sure but the 3/4" was better than the larger one. I bought them from Speedway Motors.
couldn't you just freeze the bearing? if not please educate me. i've put in ball joints on my miata and have just popped them into the freezer for a couple hours and they slid right in, no hammering or pressing needed at all.
I did freeze them but still had to press fit.
First time doing head gasket on my engine what you use to clean the surface
Just a razor blade and some breke cleaner. Don't use scrub pads because if the material from the pads gets in the engine it can duk up your crankshaft bearings.
@@miatajackdiy4293 hey, I got a question I was doing a compression test on all eight of my cylinders and one of them was blowing air from the intake ? And the compression was showing no compression
@@safwanhassan1885 If one cylinder has low compression, try pouring about a teaspoon of oil into the spark-plug hole and retesting. If compression increases, it's likely the rings are stuck or worn. The oil acts as a seal and helps close the gap between the rings and the cylinder wall through which the cylinder is losing pressure.
yea that worked ! it got back and i think their was some build up holding the valve open i clean that with break clean i never seen such numbers like 210@@miatajackdiy4293
@safwanhassan1885 Sweet, glad to offer my limited knowledge...lol.

“Anyone who still supports trump, is nuttier than a pile of squirrel 💩”
What size belt did you use for this set up?
I could look up the number but it was a 2002 camero
What is underneath that hood there ?
We put in a 1984 svo mustang 2.3l turbo engine in it.
@@miatajackdiy4293 I had a 2.3 in a Ranger pickup before , and for it to sound like that is very impressive , 8 spark plugs and 4 cylinders
@@becbusman7721 It doesn't have a full exhaust yet, just the down pipe so you can really hear the turbo sing.

Very innovative! Get the group going!
Iv put together a few LS now and i have never used a tool to Aline gasket to crank. Iv just flat edge the cover to the block on both sides. Yet to have a problem thankfully 😅
I'm sure thats ok but I've heard even a slight gap around the crank can cause a leak.
Your right" if the seal is on first, and you straight edge. It's the same thing. Same as the front, use the Hormonic Balancer. People get wrapped up in marketing not Realizing people are trying to get their hustle on and make a buck. I just wish I would have thought of it first lol
Where do you get the punch tool?
It's part of a bearing race press kit. You can use anything really, even the back of a punch, just tap around in a circle.
@@miatajackdiy4293 thanks for replying I planning to replace the knock sensors but Im sure I need replace the valley pan gasket and manifold gasket!!
