Reeves and Mortimer - Renault Clio Advert
Hey, where was the song at the beginning?
I was in love with Gillian Bailey....♥️
We only had a black and white TV, this is the first time I’ve seen this in colour !
They left Paul’s Band too soon, should have stayed for the second Album, got more well known, then left.
Thanks for posting this, I was off on a Paul Young tangent and looked up who where the backing singers and found your upload.
Can anyone tell me what the song’s called that plays from 45:58 - 48:46? The country pop sounding song. It sounds like a bit of Kenny Rogers to me but I don’t know.
I've been wracking my brains for years over that one - Shazam draws a blank. Kenny just says 'Here's some married bliss' at the beginning. I seem to remember it being played quite a bit as a kind of joke - not sure if it charted If I do remember, I'll post it here
Thanks.
Love this, brings back memories of recovery from a discectomy and lying in bed for most of the time. Watched the series on channel 4 back in the day. This particular item will stick with me till my last day..... Beautiful 🙂
If you saw this logo you were prepared to sleep with the lights on. (If you slept at all😁)
Is Kim on the left and Maz on the right?
No, Kim's on the right
I was starting junior school in UK when this came on.
2:31 who is the british belly dancer lady?
Haven't a clue - sorry!
@@richrootes good guess
@@richrootes It's Vashti (Cathy Selford) is the belly dancer.
What has become of them? Anyone know? I believe one of them went singing for a church, but my memory is all hazy on this.
It’s in the description
@@richrootes Thanks.
Kim became a church minister in New York City and Maz married Pino Palladino the base player in the Royal Family amongst many other groups.
...one of my favorite shows as a kid.
Today I finally figured out who they are. Backing vocals in Cool for Cats was so energetic. Revelation they sang for Paul Young too. Had a crush on Maz.
@@MurgenTemplar I’m not sure it’s them on the Cool for Cats song/video - could be I suppose
@@richrootes It is definitely them in the video. Not sure about the actual song though. They are also prominent in the "Up the Junction" video. I am pretty sure that both videos were shot on the same day.
Me too.......Such a hottie.
@@chuckschillingvideos The videos were shot in what would become Adele's kitchen. Its in Millionaires row in Hove...
@@Jewellerybybarrie Thank you for that nugget of trivia!
"you can get to work, before you get to work." Sounds like the hellish experience we have today in the smartphone era
This is better then Barney.
Still love that music especially when the horns sound very distinctive cheers from America 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
The spoor of Laugh-In is very evident in this episode.
It aired here in the States as well. I remember watching this in '70 when I was three years old. I believe there was originally a preview of the next episode before the closing theme played
Not a bad take-off on Laugh-In either! I do recall the Double Deckers. Fun times.
Love the advert for ' us ' at about 26:00 . Thank you to whoever recorded this for posterity.
I recorded this myself - thank you!

I remember this show in Canada. We often had a lot of children's programs from the UK in the 1970s and 1980s. We still have lots of British TV programs on CBC. There is a very British music hall comedy aspect to this episode with some frantic production lifted from the Monkees and the Bananna Splits (as noted earlier in another comment).
I was at primary school in the UK in London when this first aired in the early 1970s - I've not seen it since then; of course with the advent of the Internet and RUclips, you can re-watch shows like this now. I've got a memory of it as being a quintessentially British kid's show set in London, but, watching it now, it's got a definite American feel to it - a bit like a Hanna Barabara/ Banana Splits live-action type show. I must say it was better than I remembered it as a nine-year-old; some of the jokes are well-written and the choreography is pretty good. I don't think any of the kids went on to great things, but, Melvin Hayes found fame in British TV comedy shows like It Ain't Half Hot Mum. An enjoyably slap-stick blast from the past - Thanks for uploading.
Um...Peter Firth went on to a big acting career on stage & in the movies.
@@steveb1164 Yes and Brinsley Forde a fairly successful music career with Aswad. But, taking them out, apply what I stated to the others!
GLORIA from it Aint Half Hot Mum..as the guy in the suit and bowler hat doin the interviews....
wonder where they all are now and that they are doin.? anyone know?? cheers
I didn’t realise that they were such good writers
What episode is that sooty show from please? And what is it called?
And the funny thing here was that Heaven 17 were ‘the band of the moment’ riding high with their singles and album.Who could have foreseen that within 12 months their hits would be over and Tina was on her way to super stardom !!!!
Tina forever
What year is this? Thanks for uploading, always been fascinated by them.
February 1986
Their vocal work with Paul young was integral to the whole sound of no parlez and the two tracks they contributed to on secret of association. Paul’s sound was never the same when Kim & Maz left.
Agreed
Damn it Nokia, why did you have to fuck up so badly? The N series phones, the Communicator phones, the E series phones, the Xpress Music phones. You were the best, and you royally fucked it as bad as RIM.

Just love them!
Lucky enough to have been a young bloke living in south London from 1973 to 1978 and hearing the very best from Everett and Capital. He was unmissable in a time when commercial, local radio was new and had a great deal of influence.
Phenomenal. But why has she got Chas and Dave in the band?
This tv series was broadcast in Bangladesh Television in the 90s. I watched it when I was a kid. I still use the intro music as my phone tune
I used to watch this, The Bugaboos, HR puff n stuff. Great memories
Fantastic! Golden days for me!
