Hold on, you did not know there was a road from Mestia to Ushguli? Google map shows it too. 1h 16m drive. Plenty of minivans going to Ushguli from Mestia.
We did know there was a road! But why drive when you can hike?? The hike was beautiful and we enjoyed every moment. After the hike we did drive back and it humbled us to show what took us 4 days was only 1.5 hour drive haha!

I've got a quite bad info for you. Caucasus is part of Europe, even more, it is a home of the Europe as each white people walking in the world, is Caucasian. 1,8 million years ago humans migrated from nowadays Georgia to the Western Europe. Geographically it is Europe.

@@yusufandjun Remembering - my other recollection of the place is that, close to Mestia, somewhat higher up, there is a glacer as well from which there is a nice crisp pristine stream flowing. Our guide took a small bit of ice from the glacier for tasting, while the rocks at the edge kept on sliding, because of collecting the sunshine, thus warming up and the liquified ice lubricated the surface to make the rocks zoom down. Fantastic scenery as well.
