Tech stuff, malware stuff, pretty much anything.
This version of Windows is kinda weird...
In this video we take a look at the "Windows Technical Preview" Microsoft released in 2014. Bearing a striking resemblance to Windows 8.1, it was the first proper glimpse we got into their vision for what would become Windows 10.

I Bought a $20 "4TB" Hard Drive!
Просмотров 873 года назад
I bought the cheapest 4TB hard drive I could find, for just $20! Let's see what turned up.
I had this build installed at that time (when it was released) and I loved those window animations. I think I wrote feedback about them in Feedback app, and never been implemented...
I was actually really hyped for the Windows 10 beta builds and would watch every On MSFT (formerly WinBeta) build video, back when Zac was hosting those videos (around 2014/2015, which was almost 10 years ago).
was this build made before or after the Windows Insider Preview program?
This was branded as Windows 10 preview. I was testing it back then!
this start menu did end up making it into Windows 8.1 RT Update 3 for the Surface RT tablets. That was released after Win10 was, in September 2015. Pretty interesting really. Too bad they completely changed it for Win10, this was much better imo.

4:50 It's easy. Have a Windows installation ISO file and burn it so that you may use it as a recovery media. Open the CMD from it and type "Regedit" and mount the hive which you've played with so that you may undo your change which corrupted your operating system. Do not forget to unmount it later but NEVER DELETE ITTTTTTT AT ALL COSTTTTT!!!!!
using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 since 2022 for work related stuff and not having major issues, but i'm mostly daily drive linux since 2019 when windows 7 ended support
I dont know if its true, but getting cd key for ltsc its pretty hard, if you find it to buy its pretty expensive.
where can i download this antivirus you are showing to us in this video????
Search "RogueAVDatabase Github"
Almost forgot about this thing lol. Thanks for reminding me
Yeah, I would like to see another one of these. Probably add more sped up parts rather then cutting
windows died for me in 2022! never again! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 arch linux suits me much better! (iam a creator and gamer and all i can say who cares windows? i have all i need and much much more at linux) (i can finally play again my console ports who not runs or runs really bad at windows and can play older games who crashed in win11 and only with 17-27fps.... yes i know it gives much mmos who not run because kernel anti cheat but i play no mmos! theyre all boring! (dont ask how much hours i played mmos in my life it will shocks you! i can say theyre boring other guys not really! boring comes at 3000-10.000hours of 1 game all others are newbees!) at linux it runs buttersmooth with 60-165fps. (the worst linux os is simply better then the best windows!)

WINDOWS 10 WILL NEVER DIE
Windows 10 won't die after 2025 because of how many people have it on their PCs. Microsoft actually tried and made an ok so that's had problems that could be fixed maybe 10 minutes. Also, no one cares about support. A lack of support never stopped anyone from still playing valve games, the NES, or Xbox 360. If some arbitrary update is what's dictating your use of something, that's another issue entirely.
try and give your parents a windows 7 laptop. next thing you know everything on it got encrypted by ransomware. I'd understand if you don't care, you seem to know what you want and i respect that, but you can't speak for everyone 👍
i'm an active user of windows 10 iot ltsc, and i can assure you that this is the windows version that consumers deserve, not whatever crap they're giving away at the moment... unluckily software support is gonna close in the face of this windows version too, despite windows 10 being perfectly capable of running windows 11 apps (considering that microsoft to this day still didn't manage to remove all mentions of windows 10, from windows 11... crash dumps still identify windows 11 as windows 10 XD) unluckily, they seem that they wanna double down on the failure that is windows 11 ugh, i guess the moment softwares stop supporting windows 10, it's the time where maybe microsoft made windows 11 usable, althought i doubt
i got 10 iot and xbox complains about not compatible windows. what do??
Just to let you all know if you're planning to go that way, this version of Windows is NOT for regular users. I've tried to use it on my laptop and basically every thing you wanted to do required at least one extra step compared to regular Windows. Like, if I literally wanted to view photos, I needed to google how to bring photo viewer back in Windows 10 LTSC IoT. Also, it's not optimised for general use so it can be a hassle if you want to setup something like sharing a printer through your LAN, because you need to tweak a lot, enable some services, edit local group policy, edit firewall settings, basically you would need to do 10x more work than you would do on a regular version of Windows, and if you aren't a software technician, you will need to google all that, troubleshoot by yourself and that will take you even more time and patience.
thanks for this comment, i was contemplating this version of windows 10 for a few reasons but with all that hassle i might as well forget it and stick to what i'm doing now
Why wouldn't you just use IrfanView? Issues like these are why I use alternatives: IrfanView, Total Commander (file manager), Sysinternals Process Explorer, Everything (file search), Firefox, Thunderbird, Notepad++, Dropbox, nirsoft AdapterWatch, ImgBurn.
If you ALREADY have "normal" windows 10 installed (i.e. Windows 10 Home/Pro 22H2), DO NOT FOLLOW that advice (yet). ¿Why go through the hassle of installing Win10 LTSC Enterprise IoT 2021 (i.e. 21H2) TODAY (Nov 2024), and finding a few years down the road that an Application you relay on insists on NOT working with Win10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H2)? I do not know if it will happen, you do not know if it will happen, but the risk is there... Also, even with a valid key, using Win10 LTSC Enterprise IoT 2021 for normal tasks will twist the license terms so much, it will resemble a pretzel... If you are inclined to do so today, or (worse) to sail the 7 seas, it means you will have no qualms into tricking you normal Windows into using the ESU for 3 more years, at which time (Oct 2028), you may weight your options. Or, get the ESU for 2026, and 0patch ( 0patch.com ) until 2028, which is 100% legal. And speaking of options, there are plenty: - LEGAL: Move to Win11, either by simple update if your 2026/2028 machine supports it, or by buying more powerful (perhaps used) HW... From now until 2028, you have plenty of time to save £€¢¥$, and hardware will also evolve favourably.... - LEGAL: Stick with Win10 22H2 (2026) + 0patch. I'd not go beyond 2028. - LEGAL: Use Winserver 2022 (very similar codebase) (Supported until Early 2032) - LEGAL: Go to a different (FOSS) OS (be it BSD, ChromeOS, or Linux) - Semi Legal: If you can get Win 22H2 With full ESU (2028) legally (say, buying in 2028 a machine from a company that legally had the 3 years of ESU), go with 0patch (getting the full ESU tricking Windows is Illegal). I'd not go with 0patch beyond 2032. - Semi Legal: If you can get it legally (maybe your employer can get one for you, otherwise, is illegal, as it requires a Volume License for an organization), use Win10 Enterprse LTSC 2019 (non-IoT)... Supported until early 2030 - ILLEGAL: Go for Win10 Enterprise LTSC IoT 2021. But remember that, even with a valid and legal product key, you are twisting the license so much it will resemble a pretzel. Wighing in all these options in 2028 will be significantly better for you than deciding and goigh through the hassle of this "tip" now, just to discover a few months/years after oct 2025 that Win10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 was not the right choice for you, and having to re-install another OS a second (uneeded) time You do you, but REMEBER: If you need some sort of certification or compliance on your machine, because you are a doctor (HIPAA), or you process payments from your users (PCI [Payment Card Industry]), or you do business in California (CCPA), or Europe (GDPR), etc. , is better to be on the up-and-up with your OS and Apps... JM2¢ YYMV
Proud poweruser of this edition. It really reduced a lot of headaches for me for not having to do weird group policy changes and even firewall block rules. Always pissed me off to get jumpscared by feature updates and have my boot entries reset to Windows Boot Manager instead of my own one, so I can dualboot Linux.
you make great videos keep on doing it!
they explicitly said that they'll stop giving updates and you'll have to pay for them if you still want to use win10, just switch to linux, its far better then sticking to an unsupported OS which can have kernel exploits and many more bugs in the system
Last itme I checked, one runs an OS to run Apps, not for the delight of the OS itself. If you want or need the full fat office, Autocad, Adobe Creative suite and such, Windows is the only ticket in town.
@williamyf not really man, you can get libre office for office things, it supports ms office file extensions, you can run photoshop on proton, and gimp is better anyway Theres no reason not to switch, especially for someone who just plays games and watches yt
as a fellow linux user, can we please stop saying "just switch to linux" because its annoying and just makes people want to do the opposite.
@thatoneannoyingtornadosire8755 ion really look like i care, people are fed up with microsoft bullshit so i just say "just switch to linux", if its annoying then you got a skill issue
@@sys_key3287 This version falls under a different lifecycle as I said in the video. LTSC stands for Long Term Support Channel - so although there won't be any feature updates it will still get security patches until 2032.

As a Home, Pro or Education user, we still get until 2025. As an Enterprise or IoT user, we get until 2032. So this video is partially untrue.
Just because Windows 10 won't end until 2025, it doesn't actually mean it won't. Don't get too cocky. Microsoft is pushing harder that we don't like and make us have no choice.
