Thanks buddy. I just started E92 project from bare shell and even worse it’s RHD. Last few times I was working on it. I got scared if I can do it. There is a lot of electric components a RHD to LHD differences. I really started to get worried if I am just enough to do it. Also with progress I want to record it. To share it. Hopefully I will make it one day! Thanks for this video. Gonna be awesome when it’s done.

Thanks for this. Something I'm trying to convey in my videos too. The main car RUclips channels give a false sense of time. When other people can't get a car done anywhere near the day or week that is constantly shown on RUclips, it makes them feel like they've failed. You haven't failed, just keep working on it, like this video says, one step at a time. 👍

The government should provide every household with a hydraulic lift to work on cars. When I get older, I will buy land and build a garage where people can rent out hydraulic lifts to work on their cars

Only reason my car is on ramps is because it's not lifted high enough to get under there effectively (my stands are bad), I have to work on a sloped surface, and I barely have the tools to work on it.

My project cars can't sit because I borrow my dad's shop and I can't leave anything in there for more than 2 days so I have to go in with a plan and attack it. That's what I've realized slows so many people down with their project cars is they don't have a plan, or if they do they don't stick to it. Plenty of times I've gone over to help someone with their car only to end up drinking a bunch of beer and not doing anything we planned to do because "Fuck it, we'll do it next time"

My problem is I've got 2 cars and 2 motorbikes, all projects (3/4 are roadworthy and driving tho). It's not the time or motivation, it's the ££ plus I'm like which one do I prioritise? Then is it worth spending a bit on all, but then I'm less likely to finish one sooner. The solution, probably have less projects lol

Finally brought my car back on the road from the jack stands two weeks ago after three years with about two years of almost no progress. It´s a great feeling. But i have another one with even more work to do. 😅

Lacking motivation im lacking the dam money$$$$ to buy the parts and to pay someone to fabricate. I work in a diesel shop and we charge 100$ an hour how are regular car shops charging 120, 140$?an hour and i do alll my own work but this is getting out of hand now

Thank you for that great video. I restore an old bay window bus from 1977 and the first thing I did, was to paint the front of it, to see how it will look like at the end. If I loose motivation, I always take a look at the front and then I am back in the race 🙂Kind regards from Germany, Ralph

So well said. Thank you for this man. I've said it before, just do something. Most of my project car (e30 touring) has been done 5, 10 or 30 minutes at a time. Some days you get a few hours but you'd be amazed what can be accomplished if you're persistently chipping away. The time is going to pass anyway so don't get discouraged that it isn't going RUclips fast. The reality is you won't care how long it takes when it's done and done right. Happy wrenching!

right now im stuck with 4 cars that can all be classified as projects. all of them need copious amounts of money and time to be right. but im just putting my head down, hustling and letting time do it's thing. something is better than nothing. this video actually got me out of a not so good headspace feeling stuck in life.

After a wreck, my Fiero looked a lot like the car in this video. Now I am working on the finishing touches. It's hard though when you are waiting for parts, that was what killed me.

I think no matter how skilled you are youll definitely be a little stressful seeing your car completely apart, parts sitting on the floor or in shelfs, and thinking how much work your going to have to put in rebuiding it but its important to remember that taking it apart was a series of little steps, so all you have to really do is one or two steps in reverse order. It sounds like an obvious observation but i think our brains like to look at the big picture instead of the little, forgettable in-between moments that it took to get there.

Thank you so much man I needed this owned a 2000 Honda civic for about a year now and everytime I try to fix something on that poor molested car bc the motor isn’t original dumbass me at 18 bout it thought it was gonna be easy thought I would restore that car fully and now I’ve just realized with 400,000 on the body it ain’t worth restoring it fully making me lose that ambition for the project but your so right man I just gotta keep thinking of that first day driving that thing home thought it was the coolest car in the world I remember had so many window stickers that I thought were lame but the only one I kept on was a sticker that said one day or day one and damn that butch keeps me going because I could’ve kept waiting for the perfect car that I wouldn’t have to do much work for it to be where I want it to be but it’s a double edged sword bc this car has taught me more than I ever would’ve known buying something that was mint I regret buying that thing some days but it’s hearing things like this that make me wanna push through and follow that dream of what that car could be instead of selling it to someone else who had the same dream as I once did

My solution: I sold my E6 which needed a full restoration, and picked up a rolling restoration E28. That way I can work on it and enjoy driving it.

I find it helps to prioritize based on the system in greatest mechanical need: e.g. cooling system corrosion never stops on its own -service needed to intervene.

I needed this. My MR2 hasn't ran in close to 2 years now, currently in the midst of an engine swap. I'm at the point where there's just a few "little things" preventing me from attempting to fire it up for the first time, being the vacuum system and some electrical connections. There's been multiple weeks that I tell myself "man, I want to work on my car this weekend", and then the weekend hits and I don't want to touch it. Recently I have worked on it, setting little goals like "ok, if I can get the coolant hoses hooked up, cool" or filling and bleeding the clutch and brake lines.

Money and room is the issue. So now I’m rebuilding my whole garage to make room, but then I don’t have money.. atleast it’ll look good on jack stands then

Solution? send the wife to her mums house for 6 months and order a Pallet load of beer!

Its money.. and ordering online and waiting for too long to receive. everybody wants me to do jobs for them. its hard. but mainly income is slow.
