Lived there from 2014 until I sold my place in 2021 in Potrero Hill. I'm glad I did and moved to Northwest of Sacramento. Planning to retire and move back to Texas in 5.5 years which I am originally from, the DFW area. People who move to the bay area typically dont live in SF they live in marin or south of SF and commute to SF. it's a metropolitan area that pre- pandemic attracted all of northern california to do business and nightlife. That’s pathetic. When you stop arresting shoplifters and incentivize stealing, why would any business want to pay those astronomical rents around Union Square? When you tell criminals that it’s okay to take what you want up to $950, you get this. This is what you get with Progressive Politicians. Crime, empty storefronts, and ultimately people with money decide to leave, tax revenue goes down, and cities turn into outdoor flea markets for drugs and that’s about it.
