Paul Collins - Paper Dolls (The Nerves)
He still sounds amazing for our times!
Saw him at a small record store in Murray KY a long time ago, he was a perfect gentleman and played a great show!!
One of the greatest songs not many have heard❤p❤]❤p
One of the most underrated. songs ever❤❤❤
Awesome.
you can't help but appreciate these, the guys in the little record store pull a legend's song ! Thank you so much!
Following up on my comments below, it's now been 45 years - did he find his rock and roll girl?
God bless John Wayne
This rules.
In memory of Jack Lee (The NERVES) who wrote this song
Sounds like Paul, looks like Hard Skin!
Paul Collins doesn't have a backing band, he just shows up and says 1-2-3-4 to any recordstore hipster with a guitar
I love their take on this song, makes me want to dance.
It's a Paul Collins original.

Nice to see Paul still doing live shows, even if in a small record shop. The song was written by another Nerves member, Jack Lee. Paul does a good job on vocals, originally done by Peter Case. Paul was the Nerves drummer when I saw them. This song was almost a standard back in the early 1980s for all club bands in the Los Angeles area; if you couldn't do it, you weren't worthy of a stage gig.
A legend….
For all you newbies….Paul is a legend. Go back to his album “the beat”.
Yep!!
Everything about this song is great.
HE AGED WELL
Londern nerds all have that same look
Love this!!!
:D
Wow. Well done!
Who is the backing band?
I like this Muppets version.
The faster the better.
In 79/80 Collins' Beat DESERVED the success and attention that, instead, went to the Knack!
I like them both but The Knack's first album beats out (no pun intended) The Beat's first.
The Beat played Zappa's Brooklyn NY on Dec 22, 1979 facebook.com/groups/zappasreunion
vERY IMPORTANT SONG/ DESIR OU AMOUR TU LE SAURAS UN JOUR; SO/ HE KNOWS DESIRE LASTS ELEVEN MINUTES IN AVERAGE §
Love Paul and the Beat!!
Still good as ever. Saw The Beat every time they played in the Bay Area.
Fantastic! Sounds and looks exactly as it should ! A rick and a tele -- yes ! Young guys playing rock - perfect. Correct tempo, Vocals hitting all the marks and driving tempo -- PERFECTION! Thank you Paul & company.
He's been looking for over 40 years now, did he find his Rock and Roll Girl?
No, he did not. He is clearly stating, he wants to be with a rock and roll girl. Still looking! Glad he is ---sounds great, huh >!!
A sun frock is the perfect attire for beating the shit out of a drum kit
Amazeballs. So f'ing good!!!!!!!!!!
They are all superb
P'tain Paul Collins... J'ai 16 ans en 2019! :p
0:38, who is cute girl in leather jacket? ☺️
Still boring.
If you’re bored then you’re boring.
why are you here!!
Awesome. A bit fast for my taste but rockin
I cant believe anyone could possibly have a fucking gripe with witnessing that. JFC
It’s the same BPM as the record😂
That was a phenomenal live performance! I'm 46 but oddly enough I just heard about this band. Been listening to rock my whole life too....hmmmm.
Yeah buddy...fantastic !
Check out Peter Case
I started off being like wtf these little kids....then i just listened and it still rocks :)
This song was written 40 years ago, I hope he eventually found his rock and roll girl.
He did- the cute girl in leather jacket @ 0:38.
@@crapple009 is that a guess?
Great Band, check out that bass playing,Geddy Lee & John Taylor worthy!!! Oh yeah ROLL TIDE!!
brilliant!
The kid on bass looks like the offspring of one of the guys in Canned Heat.
Thank you
good band
Fantastic, Paul! Glad to see a Power Pop Pioneer (PPP) still going strong!
Paul stills rocks baby!
Brilliant! This is in my top 100 songs of all time and my #1 favorite not-well-known song!!
