I own one that I bought new about 40 years ago. It is exactly the same model. But the legends are absolutely sober: "PARKER", "Sterling" and "Made in U.S.A." You almost need a magnifying glass to read them. It is true, today nobody knows or has ever seen this piece. Greetings from Buenos Aires (And many thanks to Google Translator!)

Nice review. I love Parker pens too. I have the 51, Jotter and Duofold books, all in hardback, I paid retail when they were published. The Duofold book was about £40 (USD50).

Thank you for your video of the Sheaffer Pen Museum it brought back memories - between April 1977 to December 1983 was head of Industrial Styling Design Department of the Research And Development Unit. Several of the Writing Instruments you showed in the video from that time period I designed the Targa, and many others. That prototype Targa Slim you picked up is all my design you may have picked up one of the prototypes I touched during development. Have wonderful pictures of prototypes that are more exciting than the Sheaffer products that came to market... Will tell you a true story about December 1981 Leslie “Ned” Bishop President really screwed up - Sheaffer at that time it was part of Textron could have been a multi-billion dollar company today and would have never been sold departing Fort Madison had he followed my plan. Sitting at a high level meeting along with the Chairman of the Board. Had purchase my first Texas Instrument Computer writing algorithms at home on my own time to predict within 1% margin of error the number of cycles it would take before our parts failed…I was successful in my predictions My turn came to present ideas for new products and market channels for the coming year. I had researched the computer industry and assessed our production capabilities, with our precision metal working skills and abilities knew we could produce millions of computer parts and hard drive components per year. At the same time the computer digitalization of drafting with a stylist was starting. Had been testing surfaces and points for making the writing instruments writing on glass feel like paper…no one has yet to be successful with that goal. I bought three jotter with metal tip , their barrel are smaller in size and refill comes slightly out from the tip, may they be fake , however steel part have making made in USA and two made in England. Do you have such jotter in your collection.

Hi, I have a Cisele pen and biro circa 1960’s left to me by my father. Love the eraser way to clean but do you have any recommendations for cleaning the inside of the pen? It’s in great condition and obviously used so I guess it’s got loads of dried ink in it. Thanks Rod

Hey Brad, I'm a combat disabled veteran from Vietnam. I love pens and pencils because I have severe PTSD from Vietnam, and use them to draw, do calligraphy, and writing words of wisdom and knowledge into my journals to pass on to my granddaughter at my passing. I recently purchased a Parker 75 cisele .5 mm pencil that I want to use to draw with. Used other pencils with .5 mm lead to draw until I purchased this one. The seller said vintage mint with no dents, dings, or scratches. I received it with a dent on the barrel, and has some of the antique black still left. Do you ever get barrels for the Parker 75 cisele .5 mm pencil that you can sell with no dings, dents, or scratches that you can sell. I do my drawings at night when PTSD keeps me from sleeping, or wakes me up out of my sleep. I live on a fixed income for my injuries suffered in Vietnam, and was sickened when I got the pencil I purchased with a dent. I am getting over triple bypass heart surgery, and not allowed to drive, and didn't have anybody that could take it to the post office to return for credit, so the seller gave me a small refund due to the dent. I notice it every time I start to use it making me sick, and would like to purchase a good barrel to replace the dented one if it is reasonable. We lost 22 out of 31 of us in one day in Vietnam, and that's part of my PTSD problem, but just a part. I enjoy your videos, and your knowledge on Parker pens and pencils. Thanks J. Coleman

I think l like all of them, probably because of the colours, and the different designs. But the coloured part plastic and chrome looking ones are definitely my favourite. Paper Mate knows how to make fun pens. Other manufacturers make pens that look a bit too serious to me. Apart from some of the parkers. I am really partial to the contours. I remember them at school and they were comfortable and had a fantastic refil to write with. I thought they were better then the jotters. Really nice collection thanks for sharing.

I am not sure, but when I was kid in the 1970s, a child in the UK died from swallowing a pen top, so they put breather holes into them to prevent it. I suspect most of the pens without them date to before this period. Parker pens were loved by school kids. So it was sensible to do this. Even cheap bic biros had to have a breather hole as well. I remember it being advertised as a popular safety feature. Pen tops seemed to evolve overnight at the time.

Great review… Gorgeous pen. I love the Parker Brand. I have a modern Big Red, and recently brought a 1990 (i.e. “Q”) Mk I in black, mint condition with original packaging/documentation. And for Fountain Pen Day 2023, I purchased a 1987 Mk I Blue Marble, awaiting its delivery. I love the balance and weight of larger (oversized) pens as well. I think I prefer the older Centennials to the modern releases. I am a sucker for the old style nibs with the arrow as opposed to the Ace of Spade. It could just be me, but the resin/acrylic of the Mk I feels more solid and have a heft that I like over the modern… Again, great video/review. My grail pen now is to find that Mk II in Ivorine.
