Ive lived in tx my whole life and i genuinely agree. Litterally all we have is gun rights and no income tax. The only thing cheaper in tx is fossil fuel. Every other service or product is the same or even more expensive. Wages are far less making the cost of living the same if not higher then say california. In turn in Tx there is little to no public infrastructure. Every road is shit unless you pay which your almost forced to use tolls which makes up for those gas savings.... most of texas is absolutely rampant with cops and they will make up those taxes with tickets and fines. The most fucked up criminal justice system in the world incarcerating more of its own people then even soviet russia. And theyr majority nonviolent drug crimes like wtf. Its hot and dry asf. Everybody may be polite but they damn sure aint kind and everyone has a stick up theyr ass. Everybody lives a terrible quality of life here and having lived here my entire life i still cant tell if texans believe its better here or if theyr in denial and just really jealous. I truly dont know. Dont move to texas. And please do not raise your children in texas if you want them to have a decent quality of life. Texas is by far the most tyranical state in the usa. Unfortunately its also the most powerful state in the usa economically, resourcefully and politically Tx has a stacked deck. If you own a large business or shitons of land move to texas. If not (95%) dont... If you think you ever will you wont. Dont lead yourself on. Ive actrually compared my small tx town to most parts of california and the cost of living is lower in california💀😂. You essentially trade gun rights for a 3-10x higher quality of life.
