Dancing in the Street (1985) Workprint, 35mm - David Bowie and Mick Jagger
Просмотров 8 тыс.Год назад
This isn't something you see everyday. This is the workprint to the 1985 music video "Dancing in the Street" starring David Bowie and Mick Jagger. Compared to a final print, this version is only missing its opticals, which means those shots run a little longer. While the music video was shot in open matte, I'm presenting it here in 1.85:1 because it seems like when it was shown theatrically, it...
Take on Me (1985) 35mm Print - a-ha
Просмотров 10 тыс.Год назад
Scanned from my personal print of Take on Me, this includes the Riverside bumpers at the beginning and end as well as the Music Motions logo that the official upload is missing. I did a single pass on color correction (really just to get the gamma in the right place) rather than scene by scene correction, to get a gauge at what the colors originally looked like. Take on Me, releasing in 1985, w...
Moonage Daydream (1973) 8mm Print - David Bowie
Просмотров 489Год назад
Truly this is some of the worst quality footage I've ever come across. Only labeled "Bowie", this silent regular 8mm reel contained David Bowie performing Moonage Daydream from the final Ziggy Stardust show on July 3rd 1973. This show would become Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture some years later. Upon closer inspection, it appears this film wqs shot off of a TV. While it may seem amateurish,...

Haven't been this early, ever? Nice video!
how the fuck did you manage to get your hands on this? Also why don't they finally remaster their music videos for fucks sake. The Bowie channel should upload this
Is that him unalived at the end?
Linda película. Un poco rara como dicen algunos. Pero la música que tiene es espectacular. David Byrne es un grande. Saludos desde Argentina 👍🏾
Remarkable quality!
Sooooooooooooooooo camp!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
real
Damn this is historic.
Why?
That’s the one of the cheesiest video I’ve seen . But still good
This is insane, thank you!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is legendary, thanks man
❤❤❤
How do u trip over a whole car 💀
He tripped over and fall down with revolver. All knows, that old gunmans loaded only 5 bullet in 6 ammo-place revolver. Because only 1 weak or rough move-and revolver shot in gunmen's leg.
@@ZomboHead :nerd:
WMG should consider releasing their entire A-HA catalog on Blu-Ray
Absolutely fantastic!
Thank you so much❤
NGL this is a lot better stabilized scan than the official 4K did, the official was jittering the whole time while you're is so butter smooth. the only take I can say about it is the colors faded, so it would be awesome if it was corrected.
Thank you! I heard this show at age 15 in my little hometown and was wowed. Wonderful to hear it again.
one of my favorite trailers ever. thank you for uploading this!
Talking Heads tracks were recorded at CBGB's on 10/10/1977. It was an invitation-only show for the recording session, and ended up being their last appearance at CB's.
Thanks for the info! I'll fix the description!

Can You bring space oddity or china girl?
I love this movie, and had never seen this trailer! Thanks for making such an excellent scan and uploading.
The quality on this is CRAZY!! What a find, thank you for sharing!
Thanks! The quality is so good because this is only a single generation away from the negative!
Wow!! This is incredible.
Just decided to look and watch for the 35mm version of this music video again; it was uploaded on YT back then, but got copyrighted and removed, though I managed to get and keep full frame 35mm video that got uploaded. Still, this looks better than official remastered.
I know the one you're talking about, I snagged a copy of it too. Always a good idea to download videos you like, you never know when they might disappear! 😉
@@AnalogAnarchy99 that was my copy! I continue to be surprised for how long the video stayed up - it wasn't until the "official" 4K version was uploaded that they seemed to care. I noticed the link to the remastered version I had up was posted on Rolling Stone which probably tipped off Warner's legal dept to look into it. Glad people got to see it and glad to see another version up!
@@alittlevoice That's awesome! Excellent work with your upload!
Yeah! Wasn't the full frame version an unlisted video or something? And it was only available from the comment section links or something?
@@alittlevoice a few years ago i made a parody video of take on me that used clips from your version (because it was the highest quality upload i could find). my video is still up and amazingly now has over a million views, so in that sense your copy lives on
I like the 4K remaster, but there’s something magical about seeing what is likely the closest thing to the video’s source in this scan (outside of maybe seeing an off-air recording of an original MTV broadcast). Not a shitty low-bit rate video from 2008 nor a total polishing for modern screens, just the best experience available for its time (and still looking really cool, too). I’ve also always loved how the music ended in this video, like a satisfying ending to a satisfying tale, rather than the official song where it kinda leaves you in a weird auditory limbo. 😂
Thank you very much for your work. This is incredible. Do you think you could get a print of the Let's Dance music video? That would look amazing.
Just came across your channel and let me tell you, you are doing amazing work. Immediately subscribed, can't wait to see more
Thanks for the kind words! Will definitely be posting more!
This is incredible, thank you so much for sharing
Not a fan of the blue tint of the Criterion....
I'm okay with the color but many scenes ended up way too dark
@@jobrown95 That too. The opening highway bit just looks completely wrong.
absolutely beautiful holy shit
Cool! Thank you.
Didn’t see this movie could you please post 35mm theatrical trailer of 1994’s Bullets Over Broadway please it’s my favorite movie
Sorry, but I don't have a print of that trailer.
This is a gorgeous scan!! Thanks for uploading
This is one of my most favorite Bowie songs. I love this.
