I have a pro app it looks like a speedometer but really it does G-Force recordings and it can tell you through every gear what you're pushing it does race times and all kinds of stuff it's actually wicked but you should have started out by timing your truck. Cuz now you could have bought something that did nothing and you just feel like it did something by the way most trucks don't have it mine came stock with 556 rear gears that makes a big difference plus your torque converter on your transmission makes a big difference on performance

Think you got a slow truck mine is way faster than that and it's not that modified... you have something wrong with your truck, unplug the maf sensor you might have some hp

I've been in one 3.0 Ranger with a few mods and a tune and it surprised the heck out of me. (Ported and polished heads updated with hardened exhaust seats, mild cam, headers, twin throttle body intake, gutted cats) Was 5 speed auto and it felt every bit as strong or stronger than last gen 4.0. Would that be worth it? depends on your strategy. If intend to keep your Ranger for the long haul, I think it is. As far as reliability, I like both the 3.0 and 4.0 but...the 4.0 can be a big problem in the long run because if you do run into timing chain/tensioner issues and it happens to be on the rear of the engine, engine has to come out. The 3.0 on the other hand, the cam synchronizer (40 bucks) and the heads are the only things to keep an eye on. Stock heads don't have hardened valve seats and exhaust valves can sometimes regress. (Not a huge deal because engine doesn't have to come out) Synchronizer can be a problem because oil pump is run off of it but no excuse because it's cheap and easy to replace as maintenance and if you do that, NEVER will be a problems. I've seen 300-400 k on Vulcans....don't think a 4.0 will ever be able to do that. Cheers.

Iva towed 7200lbs with a 2.3 rwd single cab ranger, all I did was get stiffer shocks in the rear and it was fine. Drove from Ohio to Michigan with that.

Use a razor blade to scrape the stickers off and use acetone or paint thinner to get the residue off if you want to get rid of them

Other than a intake and exhaust mods my 11 Ranger XLT super cab 4X4 is stock mechanically. Twice I’ve raced it against Chevys with the 5.3 v8. We can’t pass each other until the Chevys hit 105mph and their Governor kicks in and then my Ranger takes the lead. I always let off the gas when I hit 110mph and give my competitors a Thumbs Up. But I’d like to have more hp and torque from my 4.0 V6
