1080р???????????????????
Yes you have to upgrade if you have the ef mount..they can't repair it anymore Mine is busted and that's how i know 😢💔
I was afraid mine was going out, so I sold it while it had value and can see a huge difference.
Why does the video look so blurry??
@@roni_sidhu check your playback quality?
Auto Gain Control.
I ordered this lens as soon as I could once it was announced - that was 5-weeks ago - it is finally set to arrive tomorrow 12/4/24 -
@@TheWildlifeGallery388 Cool, hope you enjoy it!
I've had mine for a few weeks now! it's great and if you're going from EF-RF you do notice a difference in speed.
Want to see more videos on the bike?
The putting it in 4k and getting a crop with video only counts for the EOS R. The other Canon R cameras don't have that "problem". There's a lot of information here that just isn't correct.
@@krelage5397 for other R cameras like the R5 or R6 Mk ii you can adjust your digital IS setting or film in 4k or 8k and crop in post.
@TheJohnAnderson yeah, I know that. I was talking about the crop on the EOS R when you put the quality in 4K. I film with canon R5 and a R3
I am just starting my journey into hobby photography. I am wanting to do horse sports photography. I do not have a lens yet (plan to purchase as R6 ii). Do you think the new Z lens would be worth the initial purchase? I am leaning toward that lens since I do not have any lenses at the moment. Thank you for any advice!
@@MWLS18 the Z lens will give you some more options if you want to add an extender later on to get more range as well as some more customizable button functions.
You may want to rent one out first and play with it before spending over 3K
Anyone know why the black z lens is heavier than the white one?
@@ChristianSangree I read the white lens is heavier because of the type of paint they use.
@@TheJohnAnderson I just can't imagine the paint making a weight difference... Do you think one will be more sturdy than the other?
The white paint is supposably a tougher paint.
@@TheJohnAnderson The white paint is for heat reduction. Canon used to make all their telephoto lenses white to reduce the heat while being outside in the sun. the black version of this lens doesn't have any paint, that's just the color to the plastic lol.
any difference in picture quality?
@@archascents5157 not enough that I noticed. It’s still the L series quality you would expect.
This is kind of a long winded answer, but I hope this answers your question. just to give you a heads up I have been a professional photographer for a while, and I actually used to work for Canon (along with other electronic distributors). If you're coming from EF- RF (depending on the EF lens) yes the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses are sharper than the EF lenses and handle a lot of situations better, will anyone (including most other professional photographers) notice it? NOPE! The only reason I upgraded was because I had the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 version 1 (With NO image stabilization), and I believe the lens was going out due to how it was handling in certain situations and really struggled. I could have purchased a 3rd party EF 70-200mm, but didn't think that was a smart move. I almost bought the first RF 70-200mm but didn't like the way it extended, couldn't use a teleconverter on it, and didn't like the fact that the weather sealing could potentially be an issue due to the way the lens extended (I also have the 24-105mm so I thought I would just get the Z lens). Will anyone notice a difference between this RF- Z 70-200mm and my old EF 70-200mm (with no IS)? Some people have! I just did a portrait shoot and the client noticed how crisp and clean it was! but most people will never notice as long as they love the image. Will you notice a difference between this RF 70-200mm f/2.8 Z lens and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 version 1 or version 2 lens? Yes (if you're pixel peeping and if you have a bunch of colors in the photo you will notice fringing that can't be completely corrected in post! but you will only notice that with a ton of colors and pixel peeping in parts of the photo), Will you notice it from the EF 70-200mm Version 3? Nope! not really! Will you notice the difference between the RF versions? Nope! Not really. only if you want internal zoom, slightly sharper image (that's really NOT noticeable and debatable on the quality because other factors could play a part in the image sharpness). The real reason I went with the Z model is simple: 1. Teleconverter access that I can use in a pinch instead of renting or buying lenses that I am NOT going to use consistently for my work. 2. Z Model, which means when I shoot film, I have a lens that is able to work with the Power Zoom feature 3. internal zoom (very important to me) 4. this is the one that NO one really talks about... It's electronically Parfocal which means focus breathing is virtually eliminated (this is huge for both photo and video work)! 5. This might sound silly, but... I have sold off all my other lenses and as a professional photographer, I only have 3 lenses total (I will rent other lenses as needed, but didn't use any of the other ones consistently enough for my work to justify keeping them), I also made this move because it places all 3 of my lenses at 82mm filter thread and that is HUGE! It might seem like a small thing, but the fact that I own all types and sizes of filters (but the ones I have the most of are 82mm's) and now only need to worry about only 82mm filter threads puts my mind at ease as far as what I need to bring, and purchase in the future. so it's uniform! Edit: oh and... 6. 11 aperture blades which does look better in photos. 7. the aperture ring on the RF-Z 70-200 f/2.8 is fantastic because it allows me to use that aperture ring when I am in a pinch and my thumb isn't on the wheel on the back of the camera, and the other reason why is I can set the control ring for different things! On both Z lenses the control ring is set to Kelvin mode to control white balance (YES Kelvin mode controls white balance and works on RAW images controlling the white balance! I am stating that on here because I usually have to explain this to so many people after the fact in the comments when they tell me Kelvin only works on J-Peg's which is NOT the case). hope all this information helps and if you have any questions, feel free to replay and I will reply as quickly as I can.
@@TigaWould great thanks!
can you compare this quality of the same image to the Z-lens with extenders 2x & 1.4x please
Digital crop will always have less quality than optical because you are simply losing megapixels. So the Z lens should be better
will you get the same quality & sharpness and aperture off the old lens using your hack than the new Z-lens wit the official 2x or 1.4 extenders?
@@orion_cinema you’re going to lose some quality using extenders as well as with using the 1.6 crop so you need to make sure to use the highest quality image setting. On my R with 30mp the crop doesn’t affect the quality too much and you’ll get a similar result with an extender. The extenders will make the auto focus slower though.
yes I got this exact lens the RF 70-200 2.8. and........ I'm really tempted by the new edition Z for only ONE reason and that is .... the teleconverters imagine RF 2X with 70-200 2.8 it's gonna give me 400mm at F4 I think and that is something pretty special if you ask me (sports and low-key wildlife with r6mII). seems exciting 😅😅 pls do some testing with teleconverters 😅😅😅
@@hongkongkong7174 If you’re looking to use it with a teleconverter to get doubled range then it might just be the upgrade you need.
2x teleconverter will give you 400mm f 5.6 1,4x teleconverter gives you 280mm f 4 2x is two extra stops of light and 1,4x is 1 stop 2x TC also decreases image quality more than 1,4x and slows autofocus down slightly more, especially in low light.
I prefer to buy R5 against R6. Now have 320mm for 17MP in 1.6 crop mode 👌🏻
thanks for the reply 😊😊 @@TheJohnAnderson
@@Galeidan thanks for the correction 😅😅 Right.. so it is 400mm @F5.6.. On a sunny day it's good enough I guess, I'm no real (career wise) photographer anyways so it should be fine.. hopefully someone will test the 2X TC performance on a full frame body soon

@@iMrWaNTeD yes, you can enable built-in mic audio backup to record a backup while recording your DJI Mic audio.
@ thanks
should i choose this or the one canon just released? (the exact same lens but internal zoom) whats the benefit of choosing this one?
@@nachos_lover The new 70-200mm “Z” lens is a little longer, slightly heavier, has 11 aperture blades, an aperture range of f2.8-f22, it has an optional power zoom attachment you can buy separately, and it has an 82mm filter size. The older RF 70-200mm is slightly shorter & lighter, has 9 aperture blades, an aperture range of f2.8-f/32, and it has a 77m filter size. You may be able to find the older version at a discount with the new model coming out. Also, the newer “Z” model allows you to use RF teleconverters or extenders while the older 70-200mm doesn’t fit the extenders. So you’ll have to use the tips I shared in this video to get more zoom with it: ruclips.net/video/091sf9JGlJQ/видео.htmlsi=7RJg0CXyB6ZBUQ5v
The crop is the "digital zoom" feature in point-and-shoot digital cameras. It uses the center area of you sensor but you lose megapixels doing that. Since most cameras these days have much more megapixels than you need it is a good solution if you can't just put on a longer lens.
@@namvet_13e 👍🏼 having more megapixels does help to keep image quality with the crop.

Have you ever tried using a teleconverter? A lot of them are super expensive but some older models aren't too bad, I'd be interested to see how those hold up, I bought one myself and should be finding out in a couple weeks
@@niloaguilar6970 I haven’t tried a teleconverter but that will give you good results and is often cheaper than getting another lens.

Automatic gain control (AGC) is a circuit that regulates the amplitude of a signal to maintain a consistent level, regardless of changes in the input signal. AGC is used in many applications, including: Radio receivers AGC adjusts the gain of the received signal to ensure that weak and strong stations have similar loudness levels. Microphones AGC automatically manages changes in the volume of a sound source to maintain a steady overall volume level. Cell signal boosters AGC automatically adjusts the indoor booster levels to keep up with the constantly fluctuating outside signal. AGC works by adjusting the gain or amplification of the received signal to keep it within a desired range. This improves the system's overall performance
You need to tuck the mic right out of the wind. A chin flap for your helmet would work well and mounted in front of your mouth but not behind the mouth vent if you have one also it depends on what mic you're using. try to make a windsock for the mic to reduce wind noise. Don't use auto gain control and set audio gain to your voice prior to recording, which should be very low if you're yelling while you're riding which you should not have to as the mic will be right in front of your mouth.
Thats automatic gain control, its a feature that was present on older cameras. I never use AGC, because it tries to compensate the audio gain by bringing up the quiet parts, but its not fast enough to avoid clipping on the loud parts, so just dont use it.
Good video but you sound like it's early in the morning and you are trying to not wake the wife 😂
