I haven’t died to this guy yet. I am only on my second NG+ and have whooped him 2 times. Just treat him like a pvp fight. Ez. But yeah, not going to stance break him easily if at all

The only things that I've found that can knock him down are the ash of war on the sacred relic sword (which, unfortunately you have to beat the main game first and start on NG+), or summoning a friend and constantly stabbing him in the back
