If Rimuru dies, like in this story, Both Veldora AND Milim would declare war against the Holy Church/outright attack it. It’s bad enough what happened with one True Dragon’s Rampage, but TWO? That would completely destroy the Western Holy Church, allowing the Eastern Empire to fully takeover the continent. Let’s not forget that Dwargon and Blumend would declare war against the Church as well. Alternatively, Hinata’s death would trigger a legitimate reason for the Holy Church to attack Tempest. A full backing of the already invading army of Falmuth would destroy Tempest, and the final result would be very similar. This is why the fight, while amazing, was all risk and no reward regarding the whole matter and its fallout.
