New I-40 To Hwy 93 Connector Site (7/5/2024)
Construction is due to begin July 11, 2024 (next week) on this new connector. I thought it would be fun and interesting to see exactly what the construction crews and engineers are working with before they begin.
Shown at 2X normal Speed. Flown the approximate route the new road will be built.
Note: There were fires in the valley yesterday so on top of being a heat wave, there's smoke settling in some areas which is what we see in the distance in some parts of the video.

I have mixed feelings about the sound walls approaching Stockton Hill Rd. They will block the view of Kingman on both sides.

White Cliff Road is a rough dirt road that goes between downtown Kingman and Northern Kingman. Along this dirt road are these magnificent cliffs and Interstate 40 that is a main artery from East to West.. On a rare Spring-like day in January 2024, this ride was made possible. I suspect it will be boring for anyone outside the area but those who moved away might like to reminisce seeing some of the familiar sights. Spotted these while doing a real estate shoot. I have no idea what kind of birds they are but they were doing these slow loops while crossing over Lake Havasu City. Edit: They are believed to be Seagulls. I'm not sure how they found their way to LHC but it looks like they multiplied into a family flock.

used to go there every year for michelin/ford testing at ford test track at yucca. stayed at queens bay hotel lake havasu. remember big 10 year celebration at queens bay hotel. fantastic times

I lived in Kingman a few years ago. They have a very high crime rare, about 52% than the national average.
This was my early 20s going to Parker and Lake Havasu in the early 90s. Awkward kid probably drinking too much and trying way too hard to meet the young ladies. Mostly just trying to figure out what to do with my life. The river did a lot to soothe that stress and angst for a few days before going back to real life. It would all work out ok in the end, but I didn’t know it at the time. I’m going to take a trip back soon. Haven’t been in over 25 years. Might even still live it enough to retire in Parker or Havasu.

I don't blame you. I lived there for a number of years. It never gets better, only worse in cost and dumb laws. The population is being replaced as well. Bad juju for sure.
@@underthedrone2735 Homeless are very $$$$$$$$$, so then they TAX, my natural gas and elec are thru the roof, not as bad as Democratic Nevada Natural Gas. Too freaking expensive and driving a car here that's a whole another story. Pinion Pines looks like my cup-of-Tea.

Yes. A little spendy but it's a very nice place with great views. Food is good too.
Crazy that I've been in Golden Valley since I was 15 yrs old and have not explored. Haven't been to the end f Shinarump. Thank you for this video. I really need to explore. I hated it here for so long and move the WAshington State for 10 years and am now back with a renewed love for the desert.
Welcome home! If you really want to treat yourself, take the back way up to the Hualapai Mountains from Yucca. A 4wd is recommended.

I've done that exact ride several times on my Triglide. Live out in the north end of Kingman. Enjoying the drone videos also! If you haven't all ready check out the Old Trails Road off of 4th street.
I too live on the north end of Kingman. I'm familiar with 4th street but I'm not sure about the Old Trails you're talking about. I've been up 8th street back when I had a Jeep. Really cool trails back up in there.

Can you imagine hanging a 360 camera from the bottom of a robust drone like the Air 2s/Air 3/Mavic 3?
@@underthedrone2735 Kelly did that with a special 360 cam made for an Air 2s. Cool idea, but the quality wasn't that great.
@@SunriseWaterMedia Yeah, that's the catch. The video quality is on par with 480p, maybe 720p. That might have been acceptable 10 years ago but not today. I hope they can improve that. A 5.7K 360 video comes out as 1080p, or so they claim. I'm not seeing it. Cheers Kris! Keep up the great work you and Kelly do.

@@donbrush That's pretty much the reaction I had when I found out we could do this now. From my research, it has been possible for at least 4 years. The only downside is the video quality just isn't there and I can't mix regular footage with 360 footage. At least not yet that I've found but I'm going to keep looking.

Looks like you have had quite a bit of snow.
Up in the mountains, yes. A lot of the homes at that elevation are summer homes. Some are vacation homes. The town of Kingman is a couple thousand feet lower. The little bit of snow we get melts quickly when we do get it.
Looks like someone had a serious fluid leak in front of you. Oil, trans? Either way, not good, and a danger to bikes.
