I'm Chris Lee. A Metal Fabricator out of Bay Shore NY. My work has been featured in Television, Magazines, Retail Stores and private collections all around the world. Come spend some time with me in my personal shop where I cut up classic cars, help owners get their projects moving and just have a good time making stuff!
Porsche Powered 1971 Ford Bronco
There are a ton of classic Broncos out there, but this one is going to be a first of its kind. I'm taking a Porsche Cayenne, ripping out all the mechanical bits and shoving them into a 1971 Ford Bronco. I'm also going to make this thing a 4-door with rear suicide doors. This truck will be a twin-turbo, AWD, monster with the Porsche air ride, brakes, steering, and more.
In this video, we'll start by tearing apart the donor car, building a few jigs, and getting some metalwork done on the Bronco.
This is a huge project with a ton of custom work.

Metal Fabrication, Welding, Bead Rolling, Body Dropping and more on this 1989 Chevy S-10
Просмотров 15 тыс.3 месяца назад
In this video I take this 1989 Chevy S-10 pickup and get a bunch of work done to help the owner move the project forward. Watch as I use simple methods to template, fabricate and install custom metal parts as well as repair existing metal. If the thumbnail looks familiar, its because I previously put out a video with a nearly-identical one a while back. Originally, it was going to be multi part...

I've taken 3 skins off a mini before lol
@GlenRose-nq4lr omg lmaooo
Oh man, what would you have gotten if you picked door #3? And what was behind door #2?
@@KenP3536 a trip to the Bahamas!
Behind door number one …. Is door number 2
The 80s were a primal time
That was a good patch job all those years ago
If it’s a nice truck I get finding another one but if it’s a mud bronco I say put another patch on it and send her in her way 😂
haha it was going to be used for a mockup on the Porsche powered Bronco I'm building
Educate me what’s the problem
many years ago, someone welded a new door skin on top of a damaged one lol
@ Oh thank you man I appreciate it
👍 makings of a great ride

Nice parts, thought the 1st one was going to be a jack stand holder. I just bought a new plasma cutter a few weekends ago, next is making plasma table unless I can find one dirt cheap.
@@twofortytwo congrats on the purchase! It sure does open up creative possibilities
How many holes or how many metres of flanging will it do on a single canister?
@Arcade-tm2ck sorry, I dont think I understand the question. I have a 30 gallon compressor so I can get hundreds of holes before it kicks back on
I found this being sold on fb marketplace and they linked this video 🔥🔥🔥
A tool that I had no idea about, would have been good for my big body work on 1992 rusted Golf (they had injected wax inside body panels, but left nowhere to drain condensation or leaks!)
You mean, just a fancy thing that spins and goes red and provides nothing?
Chime in when you create anything worth mentioning 😂
Oh nice it’s ready for the thieves to take it in one go
@Nickfulcrium ooh I double dog dare someone to try 💀🤣
It's one of the best jobs I have seen done to the tailgate. I hope you painted it with rusty primer first inside.
Loooove this.
All primer is weld through if you turn it up a bit and believe in yourself

Only for aluminum ?
This tool, yes.
The welder comes with all the other welding tools you need. This aluminum spool gun is sold separately
What wait a minute here. About 3 yrs ago I wanted to transplant that same drivetrain out of my 05 Cayenne Turbo into my Jeep TJ. Doing the work, not an issue. I called at least 6 places across America and they all said it can't be done, the computer system is too complicated, ECU, BCM and security are near impossible to transfer. One place quoted $30K to start with no guarantee. Others just passed. Stand alone companies said no can do, sorry. I really want to see how you do this. For real.
Nearly every one of my wild builds, I was told it couldn't be done, then poof, done lol. Definitely stick around to see how I tackle it. Would be cool to see other cars using this drive train, the potential is huge
@ bronco, jeep, basically the same build
OG! That's beautiful work! Just found your page and subscribed! You're doing exactly what I'm tryna do in my garage right now while in engineering school. Keep it up fam!🤞🏽
@koolpapiadam nice bro! Thanks for watching and congrats on continuing your educational journey 🙏

Love all of the detail work shown here. I think a lot of guys watching are wrenching on one project or another. My next job is going to be tail-light corners on my EB. Was curious about what that job looks like. It’s educational to see how a pro works up a body restoration. I could have used a video like this when I first started on my EB 24 years ago. Keep up the great work!
@Jimincalgary thanks! In episode 2 I actually replaced both corners. FYI, its easier to just replace them than try to fix them lol
Not sure how I stumbled onto your site but you definitely have a new subscriber! Was a nice change to watch a video without a YT dropping in a commercial every 20 seconds.
Crooked shit box is actually pretty accurate. Full size Broncos did not improve any, the amount if shims I've seen to get the core supports to look right is pretty amazing.
I'm only 3:12 in, and mannn it looks like you have your work cut out for you on the body work. You may answer this question further in the video ... BUT! ... is alotof that floor new metal, and alot of the spots look like fixes.. crappy ones at that. Or is that just how it was done In the late 60' early 70's.
Oh yea the work on this one is extensive. There's about 3 different occasions of "repairs" done by others back in the day. None of them were done properly and all of them are being cut out and replaced with new metal. In defense of the "last guys", they were definitely doing the best they had with what they had. Also, these trucks weren't exactly done well from the beginning. Thanks for tuning in!
Good car Ideas i like The work you put into it
You are awesome
I agree with paulwignell9733...people need to see you work to grasp the level of expertise that you put into a project. I like the way the project moves along at speed during parts that might seem redundant to the viewer, then they slow down to highlight crucial steps and issues that are pertinent to the build. It keeps the viewer interested. Can't wait to see the next video!
