The melody for "The East is Red" traces itself to a Shanxi folk song in the 1930s. It was picked up by the Communist forces during the Second Sino-Japanese War, and turned into a Maoist worship song "The East is Red" during the Cultural Revolution. Here, I take this beautiful melody and wrote some better lyrics of worship. “東方紅”的曲調最早是30年代的山西民謠，被八路軍傳唱后在文革中被填詞成崇拜毛澤東的“東方紅”。於是我來重新填寫詞玩玩。
