I'll go through these questions in order. With dan tests, when you go in, the hotbar is set to a premade hotbar setup by the devs. You can either remove the skills from the hotbars and set it up the way you like or you can just switch to a different hotbar and set it up to your liking. Similar to the hotbars, going into the dan test you will be provided with an inventory setup that is premade by the devs. For life dan tests, this is going to mainly be bags and sometimes materials. For any of the combat dan tests, it will mainly be potions or things that you will require for the test (Alchemy Crystals and such) Sadly no. Depending on the test, you will either start with some materials or no materials and have to buy materials as you go through the test. With regards to the wiki, it is better to use it as a guide or a means of direction. There are a lot of parts of the wiki that still need updating, especially in regards to dan tests.

@@Licorious_ Thank you so much for the reply, you have cleared up a lot for me. The closest I have been to that kind of thing so far is when I was doing the chainblade quests, and my inventory and hotbars were completely taken over for the duration of the scene. As to the wiki, yeah I was surprised that it was not comprehensive, based on how old Mabi is. Fortunately, the person who got me into the game has been playing for quite a while, so I use them pretty heavily as a learning resource. Anyway, thanks again!

@@Licorious_ Honestly, videos and voiceovers of exactly how to do ingame mechanics would be helpful. I only learned 2 days ago that you have to wait for the bar to turn green before hitting in the blacksmith minigame. Then i went back to the wiki, and sure enough it was mentioned - but I missed it. There's an archery skill that I have tried using twice, but I'm not sure how .. Final Shot I think? Trying to level Production Mastery one of the req's was 'craft something with a poison herb' so I made purple paint ... but that didn't count?? I had to grind Potion Making to 3 and make Poison Potions??? Trying to levelup Tailoring from Rank 5, so I decided to make some Level F items to "Use the skill successfully" and "Get a very good result", but that doesn't count?? Stuff like that drives me batty because I don't know the criteria for "using the skill" lol.

With certain crafting skills, which I wish it was explained more in game, the skill will only recognize items within 1 level of the rank when it talks about "Use the skill successfully". (excluding Dans, training crafting skills through dan1-3 is the same training as rank 1) And after I finish the dan test videos, I will be making skill explanation videos and training guide videos for them. Those videos will be straight voice overs instead of text on screen.

So at the start it will ask you which rank you are going for for the test. If you are going for Dan 1: select A, Dan 2: select S, Dan 3: select SS. Once you get enough points for the selected rank, it will auto complete.

I am glad to hear that this video has helped someone get through the dan 3 portion of this test! And I will say kudos to you for sticking through the test instead of skipping it!
