Is Diamond Fluorescence Good or Bad?
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.5 лет назад
You will often find that diamonds with fluorescence are discounted about 10% to 15% because many people perceive it as a flaw. That hasn’t always been the case. In fact, back in the days people paid extra to get their hands on a so called “blue-white diamond”. Today, there are still some people who actually prefer diamonds with fluorescence (including me). This leads to the question whether flu...

Some pieces may only be half gold and if you’re looking for totally pure gold, it actually doesn’t exist. What you’re going to find are pieces made of 10k gold, 14k gold, or 18k gold content. 10k gold does not tarnish and in all of you’re looking for durability 10 k is your best option if you are hard on your hands. The fact is when gold scratches it loses gold which results in it weighing less hence losing value.

    Get a White Natural Zircon instead. It has more sparkle than a Diamond as it has a higher refractive index. That is what they model Cubic Zirconium after.😝

    • @edennis8578
      @edennis8578 4 года назад

      White sapphire is harder. It's a 9 on the Mohs scale. The one they showed isn't typical since they chose a very bad stone, so please don't judge by this video.

    I hate that picture that compares a really cloudy and poorly cut sapphire vs a diamond. I have definitely have seen and even own a (lavender) sapphire that is not so cloudy and very sparkly, comparable sparkle to a diamond albeit probably not quite as sparkly. I just think that comparison picture does not do the sapphire justice.

    Mossinate is the best alternative to a diamond. Diamond pens cant tell the difference. And is infact the 2nd hardest stone, not sapphire. With the same fire and brilliance.

    • @mydiamondguidediamond9791
      @mydiamondguidediamond9791 4 года назад

      Totally agree with that! The only other alternative that I recommend are lab-grown diamonds. I just published a new blog post about this topic mydiamondguide.com/lab-grown-diamonds/

    • @theabsolute23
      @theabsolute23 3 года назад

      Definitely not the same fire and brilliance. Moissanite is NOTICEABLY more brilliant and lustrous than a diamond. Many people like that and that’s fine and laymen won’t typically know the difference between the two, but you can definitely tell with the naked eye. To me, moissanite is just a little too… rainbowy and gaudy.

    The price is SOOOOOOOO much cheaper is could be worth it for costume purposes. I rather buy sapphire than lab created diamond simply because I think lab diamond values will plummet over time. Lab created diamonds are 1/10 cost now but I think they will go even lower to 1/25 cost as supply increases. At least the Sapphire price is already a rock bottom price and it is still a real natural stone.

      Milind P White Topaz sparkles “ White” with no colors in sparkles. But still rare & desirable because the White is natural, where as all the colored Topaz is Irradiated to give it the color.

    • @e.michelle2424
      @e.michelle2424 4 года назад

      White Topaz is softer and scratches easily. I get annoyed having to take my ring off every time I wash my hands, too. However, I heard that white sapphire clouds easily as well.

    • @edennis8578
      @edennis8578 4 года назад

      @@e.michelle2424 White sapphire is a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, so it shouldn't cloud up unless you're very hard on your jewelry. That said, you have to keep them clean, especially underneath. Even diamonds look cloudy if they're dirty.

      Or get a lab created sapphire. I paid $10 at Christmas for lab white sapphire stud earrings, 4 cts total weight, from JCPenney, and they look like diamonds. Moissanite is a created stone anyway, so if you don't mind created stones, white sapphires look like diamonds if cut well. Just don't buy from those companies who pretend to sell white sapphire engagement rings, because they're really czs. I know; I have one from Jeulia.
