Always like seeing the Cash man! And of course, Snap and Hot Sauce too, they are beauties.
Nothing better than watching horses come in from a ways away !
Hot Sauce's winter coat looks like velvet. She is a beauty.
lol. White horses always look dirty, but muddy conditions really exaggerate the dirty spots. 😂😂 But, I’m impressed with his temperament. You have a nice group of horses.

Congratulations Dave!!! Now you have a cowboy camper 👍👍🤠
@@billdozer3674 very excited to take it to the trail!
Nice rig! I always admired those pop top campers! Is the fridge electic or propane! Looks like a comfortable way to camp!
@@GC-Hiker it's both! So propane until you plug in!
This will make camp outs much nicer for you! Heat and water especially, lol. You can always cook over the campfire, and sleep in the pickup bed under the topper, but now you can stand up when you wake up. Very nice. ❤❤
Your camper is going to be so nice!
Aw, off the running trail. But that was quite a snowstorm. You are not alone with the sun damage. I hated hats when I was young, but have adapted to them now. I wear a hankerchief under the hat, but that would not keep the sun off your face. I hope you have a great hike at the Canyon, only South Kaibab is open until May 15, so that is the only choice to get to the river for a while. I have always said the best training for hiking Grand Canyon is hiking Grand Canyon.
@@GC-Hiker agreed!

Where do the horses stay if the weather gets really bad ? Can they lay down?
@@pattimartin859 it did get really bad and they stayed in their shelters. I have them out now because their pens are so deep in mud.
Nice snow...pretty snow...I know it makes things harder to get done---but I'm still jealous. I miss our snow in Ohio.
Oh wow thats a ton of snow, stay warm out there!
It was up to 76 here yesterday but we need the snow we are jealous
So thankful I’m in SW Arizona! I was born and raised in Wyoming, and I do not miss those cold, windy, snowy winters! I don’t miss frozen water holes, frozen hay and my frozen feet after I was done feeding. lol. My brothers are still in Wyoming…I swear they’re part Eskimo! Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤

Running makes a great solitary activity. You and the doggies! Run while you can, with age, sometimes the wear is too much. How do you keep that hat on in the wind?

So sorry about the shoulder!
Dave, my cousin introduced me to a Dr that does stem cells. He couldn’t sit at the table and raise his forearm high enough to rest it on the table. Living in Dallas/Fort Worth area, I googled how much stem cells for my foot would cost. I was thinking “How am I going to come up with $10,000 to $30,000?” Well, my cousin’s Dr was a fraction of $10,000 and my cousin and I are both absolutely satisfied. Stem cells are baby cells that don’t know what they want to be when they grow up.

Hi I came over from the farm on route 66
@@haewonyang772 thanks for watching!
Pretty country! I think the wind is problematic, no matter what you do. Sounds good, considering the conditions!
I’m not a fan of the wind, so kudos to you for getting out in it. The sound is better than wind in past videos. Do you ride Cash, or is he strictly your pack horse? Way back when, in the old days, my father and I lived about 12 miles apart as the crow flies. It was about 20 miles by road. We broke colts going across country from his place to mine because it was such good training for them. We had to cross a river and go through big gullies, and even some rocky areas. He’d bring them over to my place, and the next day I’d ride them back to his. By the time we put thirty days on them, they had a very good start at being a darn nice horse. Nice to see your trails. Thanks for sharing.
@@jodiedwards2634 for me Cash is just a pack horse. I think I'm too big for him. But he's not strictly a pack horse. If someone can use him under saddle I think he would be great for someone 150lbs or less. Pretty much anyone in my family but me!
Leaves are mostly gone. I imagine it got some snow out of this last storm, great time to be there. Really nice nightime footage of the moon and lake!

Amazing camp site! Cash decided to stir it up this hike.
@@TaraDenetsosieLovato I'll go back to the original camp site in the spring when the snow melts
That was cool that you took the time to explain good behavior versus bad behavior for the farrier. It’s often lost on owners that don’t know or care to know the difference.
I wondered why more ferriers don’t reuse shoes
I enjoyed this trail ride. When I was young, our family took a two week mountain pack trip at the end of every summer, and we trained our three year olds to pack on these trips. They were always slower, mainly because they were learning where to put their feet and how to keep their balance with a pack saddle. A rider can help with their weight going up and down hills. Pack saddles are dead weight and no help. We had some adventures for sure, but had great sure footed horses by the time we got home. Sometimes, we unsnapped the lead ropes on the pack horses and let them pick their own way on the trail. Particularly if they were pulling and the trail was very rocky or steep. With their heads stretched out, they can’t see the trail as well, but they didn’t like to fall too far behind, so learned to keep up. We had four pack horses, two green and two seasoned veterans. Many wonderful memories in the mountains of Wyoming. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
@@jodiedwards2634 thanks, once mine are trained they can help the youngsters!
