    Stupid random question, if stars burn hydrogen into heavier elements, wouldn't the universe run out of hydrogen in a finite length of time or does the supernova split elements into atoms to then form simple elements such as hydrogen all over again?

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      Kepler-452b’s gravity is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 times that of Earth, not 5 times. While higher gravity would indeed have physiological effects, such as increased strain on muscles and the cardiovascular system, humans are adaptable, and with proper technology and preparation, it’s possible to mitigate these challenges. Current research in space medicine is already exploring how to deal with such conditions, so while it would be difficult, it’s not necessarily a death sentence.

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      Interesting point! While loop quantum gravity and quantum entanglement are both part of the quantum realm, they focus on different aspects. LQG deals with the quantum structure of spacetime itself, whereas quantum entanglement involves the mysterious connection between particles. Some theories try to link these concepts, but they remain distinct areas of research. Thanks for bringing this up!

If you launched a car into space and just let it idly sit there the entire time you'd expect it to last far longer than that by default...

    This video is misleading, the cat is not a quanta.

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      Yes, in this thought experiment, the cat is considered to be in a "quantum state" or "superposition state" where it is both alive and dead simultaneously, according to the principles of quantum mechanics. This superposition occurs because the radioactive atom inside the box is in a superposition of decayed and undecayed states until it is observed. The cat's fate is directly tied to the state of the atom, so until someone opens the box and observes the system, the cat is also in a superposition of being both alive and dead.

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      This idea seems "stupid" or counterintuitive because it challenges our everyday understanding of reality. It highlights the strangeness of quantum mechanics, where particles can exist in multiple states at once until they are observed. The experiment wasn't meant to be taken literally but rather to illustrate the weirdness of quantum mechanics and the challenge of interpreting quantum states in a classical sense.

  • @rsb7608

    I think people just keep using this example so wrong

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      Schrödinger's cat became popular because it effectively communicates the complexities and paradoxes of quantum theory in a way that is easy to grasp, even if the concept itself is bizarre. However, some people misuse or oversimplify the idea, portraying it as though it applies directly to real-world situations without considering its true purpose as a theoretical tool to discuss quantum mechanics. This misuse can lead to misunderstandings about the nature of quantum theory.

    Sorry, Proxima B is most likely tidally locked to its red dwarf star, so one side is likely always facing the star, resulting in a baked desert on the day side and a frozen one on the perpetual night side. Unlikely to host life that we could understand. The star is also known to be a very active flare star, constantly bombarding the planets orbiting it in destructive solar radiation. 😢

    • @edislatube
      @edislatube Месяц назад

      Proxima b’s harsh conditions might seem inhospitable, but the ‘terminator zone’ could provide a more stable climate due to heat redistribution, as climate models suggest. Plus, Earth’s extremophiles, like Deinococcus radiodurans, thrive in intense radiation, showing that life could adapt even in Proxima b’s extreme environment.
