Just finished the anime today, im so glad i watched such peak anime over a song i remembered as a kid

I would always put this song on while I was going to my shitty job and enjoy the bad feeling I was feeling for no reason.

I just finished reading the manga and anime as of this week, and the feeling of emptiness I have hurts man. The emotions aren't exactly the same as when you finish reading your favorite manga and it ends off in a positive note. Both the manga and anime adaptations of the NHK LN are somewhat bleak and bitter-sweet, and it leaves you unsatisfied because you want Satou to be with Misaki-chan and have a solid future ahead of him. In certain ways, the manga is a lot more depressing than the anime because at least Satou has a solid part-time job; while in the manga he's just some freelancer living with his parents. Although he solidified his love for Misaki by confessing to her, he still hasn't gone back to Tokyo to meet her. The only ones who get a clear "good" ending is Megumi and her brother, and Hitomi with her husband. To be honest, I think this was for the best. I feel like the tone and vibe of "Welcome to the NHK" would never allow for a clear-cut happy ending for all the main/supporting characters. It seems like the different creative directors in charge of the manga and anime both wanted to maintain a melancholic resolution to both adaptations, and it was probably for the better. I'm glad I went through the anime and manga, because this series has made me feel things I haven't in a while. I spend most of my time every day watching shitty anime and obscure doujins that even my friends find to be weird. Even though I found Satou to be frustrating at times, I still understood his motives and how little willpower people like him can have. Yamazaki was even more impactful though; I wanted to have a friend like him that I could rant on about otaku culture and laugh with. I wanted to have friends that I would hang out with and have deep conversations with. I'm not sure what i'm trying to do with this comment of mine, but I want to express my feelings about this series somewhere even if nobody sees it. I hope everyone that's watched/read the anime, manga, and LN are doing fine today. I really hope I don't forget this experience, because there really isn't any other kind of anime like "Welcome to the NHK".
