Can 1 with possible psychosis remain ok after understanding 😨😱😱😱 Halp
I find the concept of ipseity to be interesting. Although not schizophrenic, I have AVPD and from my personal experience for me it describes the condition similar to where I anticipate aspects or factors in the outside world like goals or presumed roles to be overpowering or too much for me, bc I don't know how to handle them and I'm not in touch with skills to handle them. I understand this is not the actual definition of ipseity but the concept is similar to what I experience bc when I encounter or anticipate coming up to encounter something I understand I do not have skills or mentalization skills and personal skills to handle then I shutdown, avoid it ignore the situation possible experience or opportunity - which further reinforces the lack of my own experiences development and growth. I have boundaries, but an 'impaired capacity to integrate experience'. Thus, it's easier to keep myself separate from that which I understand or realize I don't know how to integrate. And so, I basically typically experience external (beyond typical functions like food clothing shelter and specific transactions I can do) as a threat, or I experience external experiences an opportunities as complete pools or landmines of threats which I don't know how to handle/ was not equipped to handle.
❤
Great! Thanks a million. It was very helpful
This is great ❤❤
Great videos. I am amazed that someone who favours a psychodynamic understanding of mental suffering is so knowledgeable about the scientific explanations. I’m trying to broaden my mind with your videos. I guess my question is, irrespective of whether the aetiology is psychological or biological , which treatment will give the best quality of life? I’m glad I went with long-term therapy.
Next level thank you.
Truly excellent thank you!
can i get slide in pdf dr
This is another made up crock of BS that doesnt happen outside of TV shows. Same with most psychological diagnosis like ADHD, bipolar, etc. Until the replication crisis in science is fixed you should take EVERYTHING with a massive grain of salt. Theres a reason they classify psychology as a soft science, not a hard science like physics. Its because morons like you.
Hi, does everyone with schizophrenia have an ipseity disturbance?
I've had a chronic ipseity disturbance since 1992; it was the first symptom i had before I started having paranoia and delusions. The best ways to describe it are:: it feels like I'm stuck in a dream like feeling; it feels like I don't exist- like I'm disappearing; it feels like my mind is open and everyone can enter my mind and interfere with it; when people get close to me it feels very uncomftorable, like our minds are somehow connected; when I'm talking to people it doesn't feel real, and I ask myself if the person I'm talking to is real, and it doesn't feel like I'm real, either; it feels like I'm connected to everything around me, but it feels like I'm not real. I've chronically had this feeling, even if I'm not hearing voices or having paranoia. I was on Clozapine but it did nothing for ipseity disturbance.
Nice. I finally understand Anemia better.😊
Tq very much sir.. 🙏🙏🤝🤝
Great , one of the clearest lectures on ARDS out there on youtube

I experienced a dissociative fugue state. I cannot recall much of anything about my life from 2017-late 2020. I will have occasional “flashbacks” of those timeframes, but I cannot recall much of what actually went on. What I was saying/doing, I cannot easily recall the details of my marriage to my husband back in 2011, and I forgot most of my childhood, except for the most vivid and traumatic events that took place back then. Good memories are extremely difficult to recall for me. I feel like an empty shell that is waiting to be filled with water, yet no water comes. Dissociation is still really bad, and I feel so disconnected from myself and all of my family. And any “friends” I had before I met my husband, I can only recognize their faces. I struggle to recall names unless something triggers a memory of that person. It’s had severe effects on my life, as I’m physically separated from my husband, and he’s raising our two young kids, with whom I struggle greatly to connect, because they trigger severe childhood neglect memories and emotions for me. I love them so deeply, and I know I do, but I cannot feel it very often. It’s hell. I do remember SOME things from during my dissociative fugue, but mostly that I was quite delusional from sleep deprivation (not what the delusions were at the time, other than generically), and suffering from nightmares and flashbacks so badly I was borderline passing out each day. And because I was dissociating during all of this, I appeared functional outwardly while I was actually non-functional and not mentally or emotionally present. And my husband unintentionally became part of my childhood trauma memories and became the “enemy” in my mind. This crap is no joke. It’s not neat. It’s horrifically traumatic in and of itself, because I feel like I lost all sense of self and purpose, on top of basically losing all of my deepest relationships because of my trauma responses. Hope this helps someone else.
I know my maiden name and my married name, but it was like I forgot how to breathe, walk, and talk. And I mean literally. I have had to practice deep breathing in therapy, and relearn how to walk because dissociation is physically disorienting, causing me to walk into things or misjudge distances of objects and getting hurt. Driving can be extremely dangerous if I don’t ground myself well beforehand. And I didn’t drive for 6-7 months in 2020 because it was that bad. I started coming out of my fugue state in Dec. 2020, and I was confused as heck as to why I was back living with my parents and not with my husband and kids. Scary freaking crap. And the only reason I wasn’t hospitalized for it is because of the lack of support from family and financial issues. I wouldn’t have been able to work and couldn’t work even if I’d wanted to. I was having severe panic attacks and anxiety and I trusted absolutely NO one to touch me or to be a safe person for me. Even those closest to me. I’m sick of trauma. I’m sick of being told to “suck it up” or “that was so long ago” comments. Yeah. I know. To me it literally feels like my traumas just happened and no concept of time changing can penetrate my traumatized brain. I feel like a teenager at times, other times a 5 or 8 year old. Then sometimes still a 3-4 year old when I have flashbacks… I’m a little kid all over again, and God help the person who tries to touch me during a flashback or scares me unintentionally. I’ve almost punched people outright on reflex when I get startled, and I don’t want to hurt anyone. 🥺😮💨
@@Elya08 Thank you so much for sharing your story. Can Dissociative fugue make you act like a different person? I had an episode with no history of mental illness and nothing like this has happened before or sense. For a month I was acting like a different person and going to places/doing things i had no awareness of. I didn’t go missing though and I didn’t change my name or anything like that. But it’s as if I woke up and I realized what I had done mostly because of evidence and remembering bits and pieces. Could this have been a fugue episode?

@@azca. I didn’t have any except on Facebook. Initially, the emotional pain from the separation kept me from even looking at those photos. I’ve been able to gradually start looking and remembering how nice it was during those early years.

Such a fantastic presentation, nursing student here, thank you so much 🙏🏽🙌
Hey hi struggling to find a doctor to treat ipseity disturbance pls help me
What do you experience?
Fantastic video! Very clearly and thoroughly explained in a manner where a casual like me could understand. Thanks for sharing!
Can you make a video about Anhedonia and PSSD?
Nice, this is the best short video I could find on this topic.
Great 🤩. Don't stop making videos pliz
Congratulations as an ICU consultant i wanted to tell you that this presentation is wonderful. Be blessed and rewarded by sharing saving lives tools.
I've had somatization disorder now for 12 years being diagnosed only 6 years ago. After hundreds of doctors appointments and multiple tests like m.r.i.s, ct scans, ultrasounds over that 12 year span, nothing has been found from these symptoms that I go through. I've tried meds, cognitive behavior therapy, acupuncture and almost everything in the book these past 6 years yet I still suffer from this debilitating disease. I applied for social security disability and got it right away as have just been crippled by this disease. Scary thing is that you don't know what's real and what's not. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year even though I felt no symptoms for that one particular thing. It was found as I had an m.r.i. for swelling under my jaw. My shrink said to stay away from doctors while my doctor said if i'm dealing with real symptoms, i must follow up with a doctor. I feel real painful and destressing symptoms....what do I do? Any advice would be appreciated?
I’m very much excited to have come across Dr IGUDIA RUclips channel some time back. His herbs medication are really effective in curing Sepsis disease
Finally i Find you
Excellent application of information for nursing interventions.
Clean and clear , loved it, expecting more
Am so excited, finally I got cured of Tinnitus using Dr. Gbenga herbal mixture, after being introduced to Dr. Gbenga on RUclips, thanks Karl for introducing me to Dr. Gbenga, am totally cured from Tinnitus now.
This isn’t a hypothesis. This has essentially been proven. Hell I’ve experienced this myself! I have sibo, gastritis, mild fatty liver, etc. all caused by the Candida diet which ruined me and then exacerbated by antibiotics for h pylori.
What did u do for it?
@@unknownmr5718 I'm interested in this as well since I believe I have mucositis but don't know how to get tested for it since my medicaid doctors won't let me get the wireless capsule camera endoscopy of my small intestine to see what's going on there. But hey, if a fecal transplant into the large intestine could take care of all that I'd love to know where I could find a reputable, cutting edge doctor/surgeon for this!
Newly Diagnosed. Thank You for this. It Explains my Brain Adaptation Well. Kept it short and sweet too. Well Done. 💞
How to cure
did I hear a kitten squeak? 😃
Am glad the herbal mixture I purchased from Dr. Gbenga for my tinnitus, cured me completely, am so happy now, thanks to Dr. Gbenga.
Get a permanent cure for this, using Dr. Gbenga herbal medicine, I was cured from tinnitus since Feb 11, 2013.
What’s up?!! Just subbed to your channel! Have you looked into using PromoSM to help your videos rank better??
I have tested many CBD oils. I think the CBD from Weedborn is the absolute best.
First I was embarrassed, even though the video is from an academic perspective, how often I use some of the defense mechanisms. But then, I realized, I can rationalize the rationalization: if the table would be financially stressful and I therefore say "it doesn't fit the rest of my decor," well, maybe it doesn't, for the price! Perhaps if it were half as expensive the level of matching would have been sufficient. Obviously, not buying a new expensive table is probably adaptive much of the time, so I have convinced myself it's fair to search for a sort of "ultimate reason" not do it (or whatever purchase it is).
I am very glad to be sharing with you here the marvelous work DR. Smart has done in life, i was diagnosed of Herpes virus and ever since i have been very unhappy, so down broken everyday, until one day when i came across a shocking testimony about how DR_ Smart cured someone who suffered Herpes virus, without wasting much time i link him up immediately on his mail address: drsma1968@gmail.com, and he helped me with his herbal remedy and after been on medication for 3months I was tested and am healed. If You want to cure your disease kindly contact him WhatsApp: +2348145898842...
Beautifully explained with reference to theories
is it possible to cure or reverse dissociative amnesia?
Not at all. There is treatment and therapy, but the person usually has it for the rest of their lives, though it may differ in time.
@@fishbonesxx that sucks
What do you mean, the likeliness of it happening? The time lost? What is the part you refer to? I just woke up after 26 years.
@@fishbonesxx that's bullshit. If it's a psychological problem not a physical problem then you can work on your brains proccesing abilities.
@@Minkilo1 There are many psychological issues that are completely incurable. While the severity of dissociative amnesia may go away in time, it can't completely dissipate. That's not how the brain works.
Have my psych final tomorrow that got me here
