Thanks for posting. Awesome.
Darn shame book is out of print. Very expensive on resale market.
Have just rewatched Harold and Maude… again. And, will never stop rewatching. Love this film.
Some filmed in Santa Cruz early 70s
Best soundtrack ever made IMO
Best movie ever made IMO
Well, Alright! ❤😂❤
Thank you for this interview. It's good to know that a non-magician is able to engage magic with so much respect. You demonstrate the qualities of every great magician, which is how I know you are a fantastic entertainer. All magicians would do well to listen to the stories that are told here; it's so difficult to keep our focus on what is truly important within the realm of our art. Eugene Burger's most enduring piece of wisdom was the constant reminder to stay focused on magic's sacred purpose. I was never privileged with an opportunity to meet Eugene in person, and that will be the greatest lament of my life.
Thanks for the note! I feel so lucky to have met Eugene, if only for such a short time. He was one of a kind.
Great interview! I plan on seeking the book out. Big fan of the movie, HUGE fan of Cat Stevens. Only recently heard about Cat's possible cameo appearance. The actor in question's face is obscured by a hat, but it did not look like him to me. IMDb even lists him as "uncredited and unconfirmed" as appearing as a cameo. James Davidson set the record straight for me and should amend the IMDb list.
❤
Classic!! 😂
Love this movie, Bud and Ruth Gordon ❤️ 💙
Another gem that I must listen to when I need a pick me up…I think I worked with this guy. RIP Tommy…one of the all time greats
Play, magic fingers!
RIP Tommy…….
I really preferred it to Eli’s point of view 👏🏻
I’m spending Christmas alone with my dog and Covid. I was vaccinated so I have a mild version. Too my delight I received an early Christmas present in An Opening Nightmare from Leah’s perspective.
I really love the Lake Como players stories. I strongly recommend the audio version.
Harrison Greenbum represents today's feminized ultra-beta males with his feminized voice, weak jokes, woke stance, and his material is based on subjects he doesn't even understand. He's literally one of the worst comedians of all time. I was happy to see Norm Macdonald absolutely destroy him on stage. You couldn't pay me to go see one of his "performances".
I love this movie!
That's brilliant!
AMAZING! Thanx for this rare footage!
Do we get to see them have sex?
Such a great podcast. Why does it have so less views.
Just came out a few hours ago ... give it time ...
Really enjoyed this books, magic really takes you to another world. Can't wait to read another! got to say the narrator is amazing I could listen to him all day!
When I was in 7th grade I thought this was the funniest song I'd ever heard. My dad knew Tom Smothers a little -- great guy.
I love these stories! Thank you
I’ve watched it and it’s great fun
I purchased and enjoyed the book; hearing TTTCBE performed by Jim Cunningham was great. This is such a fun series! I have enjoyed most titles in both ebook and audio. Looking forward to more. 😁
I love this series. It's very unique and so well written. I appreciate the cleverness, creativity, and humor.
4 variations. The Groucho variant, the Chico variant, the Zeppo variant, and the Harpo variant.
My favorite movie ❤
hilarious!
Thank you for this!
Delightful! I'm not so easily entertained, but enjoyed this story from start to finish! The author has a clever wit and sure can turn a phrase. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh yeah, and the narrator is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Satan 🤣
I live near Salinas. In Steinbeck country. Philyis Diller started out writing for a shopping news paper in the East Bay. Reminds me of growing up in 50's Bay Area.
Thanks for the upload. Where did you find this from?
I recorded it at the event. Just recently came across the old cassette.
very cool, do you have any more Mort Sahl not already on your channel?
Hey thanks for putting this up. My parents would listen to this while I was in bed. So even though I'm still a kid of 66 years, I can dig this hardcore version of Saul's act.
This song is from the mind of Pat Paulsen, and if you ever saw him, it makes perfect sense. He would have made a great President. I'm intrigued that Tom Smothers starts the song with the phrase "Play magic fingers", because a couple of years later, Michael Nesmith (of the Monkees) says the same thing in Papa Gene's Blues. I have convinced myself with absolutely zero evidence that this is not a coincidence.
Thanks for that added trivia! (I suspect we are both Firesign Theater fans as well ...)
Thanks so much for uploading this gem :)
Thank you for this bonus interview for us Fools fans. I also think Jon is such a great performer and to hear about his experience was very informative. The plunger routine was a great choice for the show.
What is the Italian phrase? I need to put that on a friend's coat of arms.
"Se non è vero, è ben trovato." If it didn't happen that way, it should have.
p̶r̶o̶m̶o̶s̶m̶
Wonderful! Must have caught him at the garage sale! I haven’t seen that version of DD before. Fooled my pants off the first time I watched it
I was there.❤️
Wow. I’ve got goosebumps.
How awesome!
How lucky you are to have witnessed history in the making. This is my all-time favorite movie and I'm 72 years young! Through all of my years and all the movies I've seen, I've never seen any other movie that comes near how enjoyable Harold and Maude is. And timeless, too.
Are we going to see SPC do Doc Daily on video?
Excellent idea!
How do magicians get killed in a fake illusion? The shooter didn’t rack the slide loading the round into the barrel
He didn't rack the slide after he loaded the magazine
EXACTLY ANY shooter KNOWS now it’s FAKE. They probably broke the glass with the wad from the blank or the glass looked like it was at a different angle
Thoroughly enjoyed!! Great all the way around!! Thanks for the listen!!
