This channel is dedicated to Giles County Virginia fiddler Henry Reed. Keeping his music and influence alive in the Glen Lyn/RichCreek area. We also want to feature and give credit to other artists who have Carried this tradition as well. Alan Jabbour was key to all of it. He helped me a lot with some of the bowing style that Henry Reed used. Without his work coming around and recording Henry Reed in the late 1960s, a lot of tunes would have been lost, as there were a number of tunes that nobody else seemed to play anymore, and the style he played would have been lost too. He played a longbow style that he learned from Quince Dillion, a fifer and fiddler in the Mexican war and Civil War. Hope you enjoy this channel of friends and family of Henry Reed.
