Sepsis is a time-dependent medical emergency. 1 in every 5 people that develop Sepsis in Ireland will die. Every hour delay in commencing treatment is associated with a higher risk of mortality.
“Introduction to Sepsis Management for Adults including Maternity” and “Recognition and Management of Sepsis in Children” are mandated courses on HSELanD for all nursing, midwifery and medical teams.
