Very tasty 🎶😎🏁
Just like an exup!
01 Falco 👍👌 🇳🇿 Wheres the stator plate connection.. no probs so far.. needing to do the starter thing though
Omg.. that's not a Haka .. its a Haha .. 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Hi Johnny, great video thanks. I have a 1200 Caponord rally. I've had no issues with it but it's hit 20k miles now and I've always put acf50 on the exhaust valve. I go away to Europe every year and I'm wanting to carry out some preventative maintenance on the exhaust valve (and other things). I was always led to believe if I removed the silencer and the cables I'd have to have it set up using PADS so I've avoided stripping it. My exhaust paint is the same as yours so I'll try the stove paint. Do you have any videos on changing the clutch slave cylinder seal too. Thanks 👍
Thanks for this man helped me out alot
hi sir,my caponord 1200 is blank meter when i on switch, but fuel pump is running,i must pull out the bttery -+ in 5 minute and put it back the meter has come normal and can start as usualy, but if i off engine and turn on back same problem again
Can a new updated loom be purchased
So avoid old Aprilia,s??
Beautiful, should've changed the exhaust too 😊
Unfortunate because it is a beautiful bike bit I'm just not willing to mess with the issues when you can buy a Japanese bike that will go for ever with little to no issues
Can you share a link were I can buy this rubber seal? Pls.
Thank you for this video! Going to check it on mine too👍🏻 Loving the way this bike makes me feel😎
Are you doing the servicing yourself or is there any Aprilia specialist in the republic?
Hi, check out my new video with a new modified setup, seem to work better
Hello Jonny, what exactly do you mean by snatchy? I have this issue, during constant speed, lets say, constant 3000 RPM, the machine is jerky, it stutters. Is that what you mean?
Yes like it missed a beat, not smooth or linear.
i love the accent and the road:-))i simply enjoy aprilia/rotax v-twins-had a few and hopefully about to get a gen1 tuono, happy daze and stay shiny side up
Hi do you fix bikes for a living
good stuff Johnny
Nice video, just got a Rally and have a Tuono v4 too (like you?) Great pairing 👍
Snap😜
Have you still got the 1200? I'm considering getting one as they look like good value down here in France, have you done a valve check on it?
Sorry man only seeing your message now, yes I still have it, and I love it, ride it like a supermoto (high in the revs) and it shines, an amazing exhaust note like nothing else, will fill you with happiness. On my bike I don't need to do the valve check (20km) until probably this winter. Its just a valve check, nothing to worry about, it may cost a bit more than a GS to do, because it's a V twin there's about 2 hours more work involved striping the bike to get to the valves unlike the GS boxer engine, but the job is easy enough. I recommend, buy one, the Caponord is a hidden gem! 1 thing to note: maintain that exhaust valve, and the cables, other than that happy riding!
@johnnygillick3371 😂 sorry man, I don't know how I missed your reply, I must have had the notifications turned off. I didn't get one last year in the end but low and behold, here I am lookin at them again and doing the research. I hope you're still happy with yours and all is still goin well 👍
Are these shit bikes? There's a 2005 Caponord 1000 locally for $3,000....15,000 miles....seems cheap and I'm assuming there's a reason for that.
I love them, ride them like a supermoto and the rewards are big. They do have some small electrical issues but can be easily fixed. Loads of information on the web
I ran into similar issues when I bought my '15 Rally. Luckily the mechanical part was done under warranty, howver there was an electronic issue as well with the variable resistor in the motor unit, which feeds back the position of the valve to the ECU. This caused my machine to run into EFI issues. I resolved them myself by replacing a $2 variable resistor and some handy work. Aprilia charges a couple of hundred of dollars for a new motor unit.
Good to know, thanks for that😁
Great advice, if you have any pics of the resistor, please post. Thanks 👍
@@johnnygillick3371 drive.google.com/file/d/1PQQYu3AtnroXR9043a5lS0M_d3mfNAPZ/view?usp=sharing Here's a picture of the valve opened up and the resistor with its wires removed from the casing, after I used a dremel to get it out. Just make sure not to dremel out too much material, otherwise your replacement resistor will not be seated very snug in the casing anymore. I had to look it up, but I have done the handy work in May 2020 and it is still working flawlessly, imagine I am very happy with the results.
@@CrazyIQ thanks a million for that, great tip
beautiful landscape, interesting Donegal (Ireland) trip, nice bike......
hi, i have 2003 capo with only 400 miles, everything runs perfect , only problem is dash lights not turning on, Neutral , oil, indicators works, but millage, rpm and speed, blue display light not! any idea on what can be the problem, ?
Hi Seka, Going by my experience, the dash given trouble on the capo is usually a tell tale sign that the main connector from the stator is causing a high resistance, thus effecting the dash, check and clean and check all connections to start with, I hope the dash isn't damaged because of it.
Sorry about the portrait video, I promise next time I'll do it in landscape, ( It was easier to hold my phone in my hand in portrait 😜)
Thanks Johnny!
Mine has an Akro chip and Aprilia sport Evo titanium silencer from new. Goes like wind. Would like to lower the gearing by one tooth though. I did that on my 2002 but the changed the gear ratios on my 2003 model.
I lowered the gearing on my last RSV, down one on the front and up 4 on the back, it was great fun wheelied in third gear all day.
Ey! 99th subscriber. Just got a 04 tuono rsv from my mate, super mint 12k. He had stator issue so got a new one but it wasn't the upgraded part which fixes the overcharge issue. Did you retrofit yours? Cheers👍
Have a look a my other videos, easily sorted,
That's sad to see I took off my stock exhaust on my 2002 literally left it out in the rain for a summer time no rust whatsoever on those original exhausts
The last owner of the bike live in a seaside town, plenty of salt in the air maybe that was the reason. 👍
Great to see these updates and some neat tips too. Would be good if you could film in landscape instead of portrait. Makes for easier viewing. Keep em coming
Will do next time 👍
Good video You also need to trim the ECU by setting the two trim screws to 12pm inside the ECU then set the TPS to zero.
Good advise, but it can mess up your ECU over time
Just subbed. Keep em coming. I also ride a Gen1. Awesome bike, had mine for 7 years 40k miles. Still going strong. I’ve also done the starter cable upgrade, which is well worth it.
Totally agree with the pipe comment - although I have put a full length carbon Mivv on I have left the baffle riveted in. 15 minutes into the ride and the noise is glorious (and legal). Baffle out is too extreme.
Hi Johnny! I like aprilia and I am about to by 2008 RSV 1000 r what do you recommend? shall I go for it or stay with japans bikes? I just hear people complaining about electrics problems! the reason is with the budget I can get aprilia I cant get same japans bikes preference. your advice is highly appreciated
Gorgeous bike 👌 where’d you get that rack for the pillion?
Thanks, rentec is the brand
I have a 2004 tuono same colour, 2 weeks now. Animal of a bike. Looking forward to more vids👌 Where can i get those hand gaurds??
I got them on Wish from China, I had to do a few mods to them, seal the led and wiring and change the bolts to allow better tightening. They make a big difference when ride on the motorway. I'll try and find the link for them over the next day or so for you, 😁
Here's the link for the hand guards. dl.wish.com/wHmd
Good vid pal
We must get out soon lad
Hi Johnny I was about to order the Oberon clutch slave but this option seems better for my falco. Would you know off hand the specs so I can order one for myself fromAbbey seals? Cheers. Very clear instructions too I think this will be well within my skill set. 😁
Sorry man I've been busy moving house, as far as I know the mille, tuono, falco, caponord and futura are the same clutch slave, I'll double check and will get back to you.
All the same!
Alright Johnny how ya keeping! picked up a gen 2 tuono yesterday. I’ll keep an eye out for more tips from you 😉👍
How are You?? Im still riding caponord i got from You. :)
Sorry man, only seeing your message now. I'm good, how's the capo going, I see you're selling it
Hello, Johnny Is that the same seal for the ETV Caponord Cheers.
Hi Mark, it the very same for caponord etv 1000, futura and mille rsv range, cheers
You are the man!!!
Yeah mine improved drastically with a few suspension tweaks. Biggest improvement was dropping the forks through the headstock. Enjoy
Next step, a new rear shock spring, then the bike will be singing
Hi Ja-née. My question is a little off topic but I hope you can help. I noticed that your red beard is very luscious. I too wear a beard but mine is no way near a voluminous. I was wondering if you would tell your subscribers what products you use? Also I would be interested if you would post a video on your grooming techniques.
No problem buddy, try peeing on your hands and then rub it on your beard, massage it in, morning pee it best, try it for two weeks. Let me know how you get on.
Alternative title for video. How to make your Italian death trap less of a fire hazard.
Hai g-eyes! I liked and subscribed. I wouldn’t buy an Aprilia (bags of muck). I just like bald middle aged guys with red beards.
I thought GSA owners are shy, because they never wave, now you're hitting on me 😂
Eeeww
@@Errol.C-nz Don't knock it till you try it. John is gorgeous (although he has let himself go a bit since he made this video, what with the botched hair transplant and the breast implants). I just can't get past this fetish he has for broken Italian bikes.

Capos nice bikes-✌except for charging wires and the fuse sockets - under the back seat. I solved these gremlins -have been no problems for four years.I love my capo
How did you solved that problem?
