Thank you everyone for watching. Please send this to all your buddies who have a trailer. We have all been in this scenario at one point or another. Thanks again.

Dcf891. That extension is killing your power. I hope you replace that bolt after annealing it.

I was able to get it replaced thanks to your video. It was a bit of a pain for me being 6’5 to work up under the dash. There was also an extra layer of sound barrier padding that made it harder to get the cage out and the new one back in. All good thanks again ! I order the part on Amazon for $59 next day delivery!

Thanks for posting this, you most likely saved me $200 plus to have a shop do it. I have the same expedition the replacement looks pretty easy

John, what exactly was wrong with the lower unit? Or was it the suspension pulley. I’m hearing something similar on my F150

It’s easy getting it out but hard getting it back in. I think I am going to have to take mines to a shop to get it put in.

As easy as described. Getting the blower out was a little tougher for me; there was some sound-deadening material in the way behind the carpet. Pro tips: If you have to wait to get your motor, try whacking the old one while it's still in place. Bought me a week while I waited for mine to arrive. Percussive maintenance! My wiring harness was a little corroded-looking, so before reinserting it, I shot it with some WD-40. Lastly, I ordered my motor from Amazon and it was about HALF the cost of AutoZone etc.

Thanks, I had to pull back the deadening material and it slipped right out. Thanks for the insight… and yes I was slapping it for 3 months before it died 100% on me.

Did you use the balance clip that came with it? I got the same blower but the balance clip wasn't installed. Mine seems to be fine but not sure if I need to use it or not.

I think it's the Flux Capacitor recharging, or the tensioner pulley. It's one of those for sure.

I had this problem and fixed it yesterday. First I took everything out and vacuumed all the ash out of the bottom, then i put the pieces back in. made a big lump coal fire inside, opened the bottom vent all the way, closed the lid, took the cap off the top. I let it get as hot as possible and let it burn off for a few hours. Took care of it just fine.

Covers that don't breath well can also cause this issue, but any place that has relatively high humidity throughout the year with a porous surface is gonna have issue with mold with anything that even remotely seals up tightly if it doesn't get used for a while. Don't ever use liquids, the surfaces are porous & any trapped liquid, when it turns into steam, can generate enough pressure to damage the brittle inside components plus possibly leave lingering traces that can be harmful and/or affect flavor during cooking even after many cooking sessions. The very same reason why should never use lighter fluid to start one up (weird chemical orange/citrus aftertaste). The fix is easy, fill up fire ring about half way up, run it very hot 700F or so until all the coal burns up, let cool, remove the inner parts & brush off, it'll come off like a fine dust (including rust, but cast iron needs to be seasoned afterwards) & damn near look new. Re-construct & it'll prob run better than it has in ages, because it's extremely clean. I do this once a year just to do it. It'll clean up all the air passages around the fire ring & air will flow through it like the waters of the great Mississippi. LOL. Now this sounds like allot, but it really isn't hard, the only part that takes much time is the burning & cool down.

Had it more than once even with the daisy wheel. Just burn it off 800 plus degrees good as new
