Yeah give no penalties to people wanting to dc any game they like, that is super reasonable. I cant wait to play games by myself and 3 bots I got to look after 100% of the time cause they are completely stupid and cant do shit. Probably easier to carry games with less people than with bots. If you're not having fun, quit the game. If you just want to have fun when you are winning then im sorry game is not for you.

You're ignoring the fact that leaving the game as survivor greatly damages your team's chance of winning. You can't use the bots as an excuse to leave whenever you want just because you're not having fun. It would be selfish for every game, at least 1 survivor leaves the game because their standards weren't met for them to have fun in that exact game. The outcome of the game shouldn't revolve around if you had fun or not. It also wouldn't be fair to the killers who play for example legion, for all the survivors to leave the game because they don't like the design of that killer, then not be punished afterwards. It would be better if you could play DBD specifically casually, then not be punished for leaving the game (since you aren't playing to only win) but they don't separate casual and competitive. There are a lot of survivors who actually like ranking up, and you just leaving the game because YOU didn't have fun is selfish. The bots aren't reliable and had to be added because of players like you.

It ruins it for killers and the other survivors that you leave them with a bot. It's actually just as bad as just dying on hook. I play both sides and especially when I play survivor, I can't relay on the bot helping the team. The survivor side isn't for selfish players.

If the dc penalty is removed people would leave at the slightest inconvenience. How do I know that? It already happened during the cheater epidemic where the dc penalty was removed. One person would leave then the whole lobby followed. Just because oh golly gee I slightly dislike this killer and its not on the roster of 5 killers I approve of. Just bite the bullet. If you can't then this game is just not for you. People already give up on the first down quite frequently. This would make it even worse. You would spend then your hour of free time basicaly playing with bots or in the lobby searching for a game that you approve of.

We should at least dc 5 times a day, then get penalties after that. I'd use a free dc for any wraith or nurse i see, fuck those killers. Even slugging killers as well.

If the DC penalty was removed then survivors and killers would DC all the time and games would become fucking boring. If you don’t want to play the game then you shouldn’t have queued up. People DC over just the maps and killers they face. If you’re gonna be a whiny pissbaby you should go to timeout.

If there was a ranked mode, obviously implement a Penalty or even a ban, but literally NO ONE should be punished for playing a match that they’re not comfortable with. Not to even mention most people DC because of cheaters or toxic SWFs who try and hold the game hostage,

Nobody is forcing you to play. If you want to leave, you can. Look at any other conpetitive pvp game (league, csgo, ...). Your absence ruins other players experience and you should be penalised. As a killer player, as soon as I get a bad 1st chase, I would leave. That would be horrible for the game.

I agree that games are for people to have fun, and it is bad when a game makes someone not have fun. However, this argument privileges the fun of one player over the fun of four other players. By and large I find that people are upset when someone leaves them with a bot because killers don't find it fun to kill bots, and survivors feel that they have been screwed because the bots are very weak and so put them at a disadvantage. IMO when you join a team game you are agreeing to have fun in an activity that requires 5 people, and most players have the implicit understanding that dipping on the game and making it a worse experience for the other 4 people is a breach of social etiquette, selfishly placing ones own enjoyment over that of four other people. That said, I agree that DCing is at least better than intentionally dying on hook - a bot, while generally disliked by players, is still better than nothing. The way the DC penalties are set up right now, the timeout you get from leaving 1 or 2 games a day isn't really all too bad, and I think that's actually fine to allow people to dodge an extremely un-fun match while disincentivizing rampant DCing. Ideally, I would like BI to find a way to punish intentionally dying, and in exchange reduce your current DC penalty with every game you play to completion, so people are incentivized to stay in games they find mildly annoying while still allowing leeway in quitting if you're really having a bad time.

ur points are valid and people who disagree are ridiculous. This isnt a comp game. There isnt a ranked mode. And its filled with people who dont play the game as intended. I HATE playing against "friendly killers" its the most absolute boring waste of time. And I CANT leave more than once before it isnt worth leaving the next time. As you mentioned, some people have lives. They log in for a few fun matches and instead get a friendly killer followed by someone who slugs you for 20 minutes. I suggest leave the bots, but remove the dc penalty. i end up just alt tabbing out of troll games and watching youtube until the game ends anyway. Theres no way to FORCE people to play. Only ways to punish those who choose not to. They wont play either way, the punishments only hurt the community as a whole. Never in my life have I played such a goofy ass casual game that had such severe leaver penalties.

DC penalties should be DOUBLED. The fact that bots exist is IRRELEVANT. This "You should be allowed to leave a game you don't find fun" implies you can't leave. You can leave. You can totally leave. You arent objecting to the leaving. You want to leave AND queue up again. Nothing is stopping you from just leaving. If you aren't having fun you can LOG OUT.

i agree, i dont understand why people (mostly killer mains) are against it. sure you'll get bots but bots are in 99% of other games as well it just wont tell you its a bot. Like if BH implemented it and didn't announce it or advertise it or be able to tell in game if someone dced 99% of people wouldn't notice.

Yeah dasfood outed me to his community as an azzhole because of me commenting about this same take. And the thing about that is he asked for the feedback and opinions. My opinion on this is that now that there are bots who play very well i think dc penalties should be removed. Because if they stay it just forces me to kms on hook to avoid the penalty hurting my team more. I am tired of games trying to filter in ways to force you to keep playing, at first dbd was the only game like this I had played. Then Overwatch started to also add in that same deal where if you leave too much in unranked games you gave a timed penalty. It’s just so stupid in my opinion. Dbd isn’t a ranked game it’s a game you play for fun, and with how toxic some matches can be not being able to just dodge that leaves more room to get more and more pissed off because I’m forced to just deal with it. I’ve had days where I didn’t even dc but my internet cut or something along the lines and behavior can’t even tell if it’s an issue on their end or if I actually dced so I had to eat a 24 hour ban because it takes a full day for each dc token to be removed. And last but not least this isn’t a free game nor are the chapters I paid for. I shouldn’t be told when I can and cannot play a game I’ve spent so much money on. It’s just ridiculous.

as a killer main if survivors are just free to leave matches all they want that then ruins my fun because i might aswell just go play a private match with bots. also bot and player skill is so different bots can easily be juked into going over pallets and after the first couple hours of dbd are incredibly easy to down. You also ruin the experience for everyone else playing that match too/ If 3/4 of a survivor team are having fun but one person leaves they are essentially a player down because now they have a braindead bot and its less fun for the killer too because they get nothing from actually outsmarting the bot either.

It's not "I don't want to be forced to play an unfun match", you can leave at any time. It's "I don't want to be forced meet the expectations this game enforces to be able to continue to engage with the rest of the playerbase" If the majority of players don't want to be queued against people who leave when they don't have fun, (because that would ruin their fun) then the devs are just developing the game for what the majority wants. You're not forced to play through the rest of the match you feel is unfun. You forced are to meet the expectations set by the game in order to continually engage with the other people playing it. If the majority of the community want the these expectations to be enforced, to enable an experience they find more fun overall, hey have the right to prefer that, and so that's what the devs enforce. If you don't want the same expectations to be enforced, that's your right, but nobody has to engage with those ideas. If you don't mind playing against bots, that's fine, but most people do. Your right to a fun game doesn't trump other people's right to a fun game. If 4/5 people are enjoying a game, and 4/5 would prefer that game to remain bot free, they expect you to keep playing. You don't have to meet those expectations, but if you don't you lose the right to queue with those players.

Personally I think it should be removed as well because I get overwhelmingly annoyed when I lose connection to a game and get penalized for like 15 to 30 minutes for something that was out of my control

Instead of removing the dc penalty they need to remove the things that make matches so unbearable in the first place like map offerings, broken tool boxes, then rework busted maps etc. There's nothing more frustrating in this game than loading into a match as trapper only for a swf to bring eyrie of crows with 3 or 4 tool boxes, gen rush you then bm at the gates like they're any good. Or loading in as survivor and a full slowdown nurse or blight takes you to midwich camps, slugs, tunnels then bm's you for no reason other than doing your objective. It's broken' shit like that in the game that pushes people to want to dc because why would you stay in a match that is already rigged against you with toxic people who are trying to ruin your experience? I think removing these things for the sake of further balancing would greatly alleviate the amount of dcs you seen now. Sure it won't stop those people who dc against killers they don't like, but I believe they are a minority in the player base anyway.

[by title alone] Been saying since they brought in bots that the DC penalty needs removed, or capped at 5min. People let go on hook to avoid it, rather than letting the bot take over. The roster is big enough now that we really don't _HAVE_ to go against a particular killer/build. Fun and peace of mind is more valuable than someone's holier-than-thou attitude about DCing. I'm not in a $5000 tournament, it's just a public game, I promise you'll be fine ETA: Shoot, when I play killer and someone drops out quick as can be, I get it. Remove the ability for survivors to kill themselves on hook and make the dc penality kick in on the third strike. One week ban. That would quickly put a stop to this nonsense. Also afking would count towards the DC 3 strike rule.

Bro just added a new rule to the survivor rulebook: Survivors should be allowed to leave the game at the slightest inconvenience imaginable, even if it ruins the Killer's experience. This is why I personally think DbD is shit, because 80% of the playerbase seem to be massive fucking babies.

Bad take imo, you keep forgetting that if theres no dc penalty what stops everyone dcing if they dont like the killer the map the survivors? To me if theres even 1 bot its still sorta 3 v 1 so doesnt rly matter

removing the dc penalty, what? anyone who has played while it was disabled knows that's an absolutely stupid idea, the problem is a lack of punishment for this behavior for the sake of avoiding the dc penalty.

if dc penalty gets removed a killer plays a map offering with good killer combo full squad of survivors just leave the game and insta requeue that is not fair at all to the killer plus the killer doesn t get anything he used refunded and the counter map offerings become useless

I find Trapper fun. RPD however, no. Boring map, and I love RE, but in DbD? Godawful map, doesn't matter if I'm playing killer or survivor. Worst is how many people send you to this map. BUT. It's part of the game, you don't decide it all. You may bring a perk in a match and get 0 use out of it. Also part of the game. You're meant to play and do your best, not be a baby and refuse to play the match. I don't see people playing Mario Kart 8 online refuse to play on a track they don't like. They'll try even if they hate the track. But DbD? Big babies. It's one thing to complain, really, I would say it's even fine to complain. But you've joined a match, you've agreed to try to complete your objective for your team.

i get where your coming from but the DC penalty needs to stay because players like this, the right fix is to increase it every time someone afk's / RQ's a game during the monthly season, removing the penalty just lets players know they can DC for any reason and not suffer any consequence and that is a terrible solution tbh.

I think you are completely wrong! The problem is the players playing dbd, why play a game if you hate the killer or the map? There is a reason for the DC penalty because they can eventually get banned! All you have to do is at the end of the match is report the player!
