    Have you heard of anyone being accepted with great-great grandparents?

  • @DannyDKNYC
    @DannyDKNYC 2 месяца назад

    I live in nyc. I applied to the FBR through descent of my grandparent I heard from the Foreign birth registry July 31st via email. * Here's the timeline for me: * Irish citizenship Application Payment received On 9/22/23 *10 months later On 7/31/24 Fbrentitlement emailed me to confirm my address *According to the experience of people on *According to the experience of people on message boards and forums... After I confirm my address I'm almost done * I will get an email about 1 month later confirming my citizenship * * 2 weeks after that the citizenship and the other supporting documents should arrive in the mail So l'm close. My question is this: will they send me some sort of a document certifying that I am a citizen? s there an additional fee for this? Is it mandatory to go to a ceremony and take an oath, if I get citizenship by descent. thank you

What I mean is LOTS of Black Americans have Irish Ancestry but given their history in the US, the bulk of their ancestry wasnt "tracked" up until 2 or 3 generations ago right around the time they wouldve been classified as simply "Black"

      I am near the end of becoming an Irish citizen because my grandmother was born there I already applied online through the FBR foreign births registrar online, it costs 278 Euros... so I will get it for sure, but I had to provide a lot of documentation and that was costly$$$, a few birth certificates included mine, and they have to be the Vault/Long form not the standard forms US hospitals give out, I had to provide marriage and death certificates, to show name changes do to multiple marriages, I am almost done, ready to send it all over there. I did not need a Lawyer I did it on my own, but decided to hire an attorney for document review only, she said they are ready to send over after they are signed and witnessed, this is where I am at now, she said for Ireland you don't need then notarized or to get an apostille, had I not hired her I would not know this, because Irelands web page is not fully up to date, so just to be sure I called over there direct, and they told me over the phone no notary needed. You can also call your region's Irish consulate too. Also if you are applying for citizenship by ancestry you don't even need to take an oath/swearing-in or even set foot in Ireland ever, that is only for those not eligible that can only get it through naturalization. Still, it's not very likely you would be able to be an Irish citizen by a great-grandparent, it has a lot of big caveats and even if you get to jump through them, it would be a citizen by 'association' not dissent, and you would have to live there for 3 years as a resident, I know because I have already looked into it for my daughter and found out she is one generation too far removed. I looked into that for the same reason as you ask the USA 😱is terrifying to live in currently you may need some legal assistance, but that may not even be worth it😞for you. Though you could likely get a free consult with one 😊

    Maybe if Senator Tom Cotton didn't hate the Irish so much he wouldn't have vetoed e3 visa bill and make it easier for both Irish and Americans to live in each others countries,

    I qualify for Irish citizenship. For health care, do I need to pay a fee to qualify, on account of never working or paying taxes in Ireland?

      Hi Nathan, thank you for engaging on our posts. There are automatic, or near-automatic criteria that will see an individual granted Irish citizenship, including the obvious descent lineage of Parents and Grand-Parents. There are a host of other options and criteria - many of which are not automatic or guaranteed - but they can be applied across a range of circumstances. Some of these are qualification based, and some require a discretionary waiver by the Minister for Justice (e.g. Naturalisation By Association). For a child or grand-child of an Irish Citizen - that’s pretty straightforward. For others, a path to living and working in Ireland remains an entirely realistic option - whether through a registered Foreign Birth, Naturalisation, or Naturalisation by Association - there remain a host of options available for the Irish Diaspora to explore. In fact, there exists a range of options for those without a direct lineage to Ireland to seek an appropriate visa to reside in Ireland. I will also leave a link to the Dáil Debate, which might answer any outstanding questions that you may have. www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2020-09-16/109/

      Hi Nathan, to be clear, we’re not saying that anyone has a right to Irish citizenship because they have an Irish Great-Grandparent. However, there is a mechanism through which individuals can apply for naturalisation. Each application for naturalisation is decided upon its own merits and assessed individually as such. Your opinion on the prospect of the success of such an application is of course your own to hold and clearly you believe that such applications are practically unobtainable. Our experience has shown differently. There are no guarantees, because there is no automatic right and it is through a detailed consultation that we’re able to assess whether there is a reasonable probability that an individual’s background and circumstances are likely to meet the stringent thresholds currently in place. Sometimes the answer from that interaction is that no opportunity to progress a naturalisation application exists, but often there are circumstances which can be argued or indeed other avenues to explore which might include access to work or reside or retire in Ireland. There are many routes to explore and the best option can only be identified following a thorough consultation and assessment of individual circumstances.

      @@GibsonAssociatesLLPSolicitors I have an Irish Great Grandpa. If I were to fill out the paperwork for my mother (her grandfather) would that make me an automatic citizen or fast track my own paperwork?
