How To Demo Carpet (correctly) and Get Subfloor Ready for Flooring Installation!
Ready for a new floor?! Usually the first step is removing the previous one . And carpet, is usually the previous flooring many want to replace.
This video shows my method (I’m sure one of many) on how to where to make your cuts , how to cut it, how to roll it up for easy transport and dumpster storage , how to properly sweep(yes that’s a thing) and a few other tid bits - a very simple video but may be helpful to some out there .

Curious about how to cut angles on your flooring without needing a tape measurer? Watch this short video! Hopefully this helps you with your next project. This works for marking all types of flooring. Hardwood, LVP, Laminate, Tile, etc.

Super easy. Thanks. I was looking at videos on how to determine the angle using a speed square. Glad I clicked on a couple of videos and came across yours.

Have you gotten it figured out? In order to get Angle right , make sure the board you are trying to transfer your scribe to is either locked in or at least parallel with your flooring that has been installed. Or else it will make the wrong angle . 📐

Thanks for this. I was putting an anti-fatigue mat in an approx 45 degree corner, left and right. It was going in front of my sink. I got the first LH cut right, but cut the RH side about an inch too short. Not perfect, but better.

DUDE :D I just spent last two days laying these panels in a room and it had a very similar angled nook. I did it using tape measure. I'd save so much time with your method, it's great. Although I'd still cut the angle using a jigsaw.

Do you have a video on cutting around the trim around bedrooms? The hallway is laid out but my problem is where the bedroom entrances are. It would be easy if the doorjam wasn't smack in the middle, but for obvious reasons we need it so the door stops. How could i get a perfect cut without having to measure over and over? Or is there no way around it?

@@whalenflooring5479 Haha same here man!! I'm 36 and started with my father in this business since I was 20 and now he's retired but he's always been a perfectionist and I've always made it a point to even try to go beyond that. My new hurdle is I lost my helper of 4 years who was a great helper and it's been really tough finding a new helper. Already been through 2 guys that didn't work out so for the time being I'm solo which can be tough. But on the bright side I don't have the stress of having to babysit and watch over the work of an inexperienced guy. But as you probably can too it's easy to spot a quality tradesmen who takes pride in their work and you my friend obviously do! If you ever find yourself in RI I'll buy you that pint! 🍻🍻👍🏻
