Saw a report that there was a very considerable drop in visitors to Ireland blaming it on the weather ..... I think we all know the real reason.🤔

I was a regular visitor to Ireland, spending money , hotels, bars, restaurants, car hire etc. not any more. The Irish culture is disappearing. I visited Dublin 2 months ago for a long weekend…… what a difference since last summer, I am a man who can take care of himself, but I felt so unsafe wherever I went in the city centre. Once the Irish tourist economy collapses, then perhaps people will wake up and stop this back door invasion.

Yesterday when I went to the bus stop to wait for a bus, an African couple were standing at the end of the one sided bus shelter, trying to protect their baby from the cold Northerly wind. The man told me that they'd travelled from Dublin and had left their baby's buggy in the luggage compartment underneath the bus. He said that the bus driver drove away before they could get the buggy out and they'd been told by the bus Office that it would be on the bus when it returned in two hours. The Green bus was a half hour late it would probably be even longer if it wasn't broken down or on fire on a road somewhere or waiting for one of their constant stream of new drivers. Public transport is bad in Ireland and Bus Eireann's Expressway buses haven't the capacity to cope at peak times once September comes and the Third Level Students have to commute daily due to the housing shortage. The couple were headed for the next town but had to let buses leave without them. They looked cold and miserable as my bus drove away and I bet they were still waiting a half an hour or more later.

Well there goes the tourist industry Ireland looks like every other boring place around the world

The occasional shopper stops returning, the tourist choses another place to visit, the stores start closing and due to falling income the property owners and local authority up the rents and rates for the remaining shops when their lease expires leading to more closures. The area falls into physical decay and the cycle accelerates and what is left are pizza and chicken takeaways, Chinese nail bars and the obligatory Turkish barbers. In today's society these areas will never recover.
