Thanks a grand for the visual instructions. My Moen model was slightly different; but close enough to follow the steps. I soaked all the parts in vingar, overnight; then I stretched out that spring and now I am back in business.
I was about to purchase a new sprayer. I noticed a lot of reviews complaining that new sprayers were sticking again after just a few months. I finally found this video which is just what I needed. Thanks for posting this.
Mine wouldn’t come a part so I got the little baby wd40 I have, put the tiny thin nozzle on it for small reaches, and sprayed into under the handle squeezer etc. 10 min later after some wiggling prior, it was working!
This video is 7 years old, but the tip about the silicon grease was spot on. Lightly cleaning the bore and lubing the o-rings fixed our sprayer. Works like new now. 👍
Add another o ring it will increase the spring tension forcing the sealing o ring / plunger back in place ALSO LUBRICATE the plunger it will be back in working order when it hangs up again re grease the plunger with plumbers grease you just have to take off spray cap and nothing else you don’t have to completely in assemble the sprayer it should work fine how long I don’t know hope this helps
Excellent video! I just fixed mine in less than 10 minutes or so, including getting the tools together and going through it. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make the video. Most appreciated!!
I had a replacement Moen sprayer assembly that I only installed less than a year ago, but it started sticking recently and today it wouldn't release at all. So I followed your steps here. There was no grit or anything obvious in there, but using a little silicon and slightly stretching the spring seems to have done the trick and got that plunger working smoothly again. Good to go now. Thanks!
You are a hero. I want to buy you a virtual beer for saving my sanity. Thank you!!! p.s. As someone else mentioned below, depending on your model you may need a hex wrench to remove the bottom part before being able to reach the spring mechanism, vs. what is shown in the video.
Thanks so much for this video and the comments. My sprayer is a newer model. As stated below, you'll need an hex key to get the plastic part out of the bottom, instead of removing a screen. This part unscrews, then comes out. Then you can take the assembly out from the top. After that you can push the plunger out from the top with your finger. Put some silicone on the o-rings, stretch the spring, put it back together, and you're done.
Excellent video. However, my moen sprayer needed an allen key to remove the center piece, so no pliers were necessary. Highly recommend and agree to use silicone grease on the inside rubber O-rings. Thank you!
I was hoping someone could tell me how to unthread the plastic bottom of my spray head. My sprayer is stuck on, and don't know how to remove it I've tried a screwdriver, needle nose players, but it only slightly turns. Thanks.
I have the same sprayer, except as a newer build there's a nylon piece that seems to screw in to the body. There's a hex hole in the middle suggesting an allen key to unscrew it to gain access to the plunger. It won't budge. Thoughts/suggestions?
I wish you had shown all of the steps you did instead of breaking away to the next step. However this was helpful. Maybe I can stop getting sprayed in the belly when I get up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water
I know this is older video but thank you helped so much made mine work again
Thanks for explaining the whole process step by step.
You, sir, are brilliant 👏

Sure appreciate your video! Saved me lots of $$$!
Thank you so much! Cost of repair, $11 and works like a charm!
Can't get the thing to unscrew to get the spring out!
This was very helpful, thank you! I just saved myself about $400.
Finally!!! Someone with actual knowledge of how to repair. Everyone seems to want to just replace and this is so easy to fix. Thank you!!!!🙏 😊
How did you unscrew the thing to get spring out?
Thank you for such a detailed lesson. You just saved this single lady some money.
Excellent~now the faucet still runs when depressing the spray handle. How to fix?
this video was a great help. 7 years later and a different model. But this video helped solve my problem.

Kudos for the video. It helped removing the plastic threaded plastic. I used plumber grease.
Thanks so much, can't even find a replacement for mine anymore and you saved me a lot of trouble!
Just found this vid and it was SUPER helpful, repaired the problem thank you!!
Now I gotta remember how to put it back together again. 😢
Thank you so much!

You might try soaking the spray head in vinegar overnight
@@donco-xn8fw Thank you for this, I'll give it a try. I should add, the unit is less than a year old (if that matters).
