In Delhi, my MG Hector DCT sharp automatic gives me an average of 9 to 9.5 with the ac on. This is the reading that appears in the app. Can the app, however, be relied on for accurate mileage? The car is nice though, but some other major drawbacks in the Hector for me as a user, aside from the mileage, is the laggy or very slow response time of the music system screen and the lack of physical AC buttons and pixelated 360 degree camera. Especially the night view of the camera is bad.

Thanks for your feedback. I would suggest CVT if primarily driving is in city.
nope on highways...mostly long drive now and then to my home town 350kms one way:)
@@tmichaelk10 i enjoyed driving my DCT over highways. There is comfort and u get a powerful feeling while cruising at higher speeds. Pickup is average and auto gearshifts are prompt and smooth while accelerating. Its helpful for overtakes where required. I would then recommend DCT for highways.
What about hybrid petrol MG Hector mileage

I recently bought the 2021 Hector Sharp DCT variant two months ago and got the petrol tank fuel which costs me Rs 5400 and the its shows me the Km range of 430Km around 6-7kmpl fuel economy which is more than worst,im really disappointed after spending 20 lakhs im getting this mileage .If ive to travel 1000Km ,this car will cost me around 11K ,i really wanna resale this car but can't find the right buyer.Its going very heavy on my pockets ,most of the time its parked,ive driven only 900km till now before buying i was expecting 12-13 mileage in city ,showroom staffs didn't warned me about this What Should i do sir,can you suggest me Anything.I'll be glad if you'll help me with this
Don't worry brother. I want to know if your second service is completed? I was in same boat for initial few months. I never thought of reselling it though. I have doing trips long and short one with min average of 10kmpl. The company itself claims 13kmpl, so there is definitely a confusion in terms of expectation especially in city. On Highways you can even surpass this average but in city it would be 9-10kmpl. This is was told and was aware before buying it. My i10 gives 12kmpl in city so i have set my expectations accordingly with the much more heavier vehicle 😉 You should wait for few months and evaluate if the milage has improved before considering for resale.
How is the current mileage of Hectar
Post April its lockdown so haven't driven very recently. Mileage from last few trips in April is 10.5, 9.9, 10.2, likewise in this range only.

When i bought only DCT was an option available. Based on the feedback to increase ride quality in city especially CVT has been introduced. Haven't driven it, i would say you have good opportunity to experience both transmission and judge per your satisfaction. Good luck 👍.

I am getting 10kmpl in city and 14kmpl on highway. You can do the cal. considering mileage b/w 8-9kmpl.

@@aryan78698 i understand your concern. Try harrier diesel automatic, See if that suits you better than hector.

Hi. I own a Hector automatic petrol DCT since 18 months now. I have driven on good highways and in Delhi city. Have done 10000 km till now . Tried every thing to improve its milage in city and Highway driving but not able to get beyond 7.50 km and 9.75 km respectively. Have driven very very carefully and kept the excellaration not exceeding ,2000 rpm etc.. and going slow on it. Have been in touch with company workshop manager several times and also met him but all in vain . I think as I was an early buyer the cars sold then were Not what they might be today . What to do now . Please Advise.

Am interested in buying CVT but I have read about below issues, whats ur view. 1) DCT in MG is of dry variant and so the clutch plate heats up during bumper to bumper traffic 2) Infotainment system takes lot of time to boot and no hard ware buttons to turn on AC so one has to wait untill system boots up 3) Infotainment system even in 2021 face-lift is too slow in touch recognition and also response. Some owners have even regretted buying MG bcoz of this. They say its a chinese low quality design 3) Some videos on MG lighting up in the middle of road and they blaming accessories where as there are many videos and complaints on smoke coming out of engine compartment.. that too from MG's few month old..

We have almost finalized Hector Sharp Petrol DCT but many owners are claiming mileage to be 6-7 kmpl in city and around 10 on highways. We have an i20 currently that gives around 12-14 kmpl. That would almost double the fuel expenses after shifting to hector 🙄 How's your experience with fuel efficiency and what do you suggest? And DCT or CVT? Sorry for so many questions
I understand your concerns. Hector is a heavier product and running cost is bit on higher side. I am not sure why others are getting 6-7kmpl. Its because may be the second service stage has not been reached for them. For me post 1k / second service, the mileage was better. I just now again checked the ismart app for last 30 trips and nowhere its less than 9.3 kmpl. Majorly i get average of above 10 kmpl. It could be because the AC is not always on in current season. On full peak summers, it can come down but min 8-9kmpl you will still get. I have not driven CVT so won't give a confirmed opinion here. Do take a test drive of both variants and share your experience with all of us here 😀
I have test driven CVT , it's a beast , quick overtakes in city traffic no problem, always eager to go, also took it up an incline it's just seamless, I think CVT transmission complements hector engine better, hope this helps!!

Go for CVT, there is zero lag as CVT have no gear shit. Mileage of the car depend not only on distance but also on traffic in your city. You also get Eco and Sports mode in CVT. At sports mode response is fast but you compromise with mileage. HECTOR Service cost is low please MG Shield. So somewhere you can compromise with mileage . Hector is more about comfort than performance.
