What a perfect song. I always felt that the first season showed that Michael and Alex were still stuck at 17 and it was somewhat toxic. Michael needed time with Maria to be in a real, soft and loving relationship. And, then Alex was with Forrest who showed him how to comfortable with who he was. When Michael and Alex get back together, they have left most of their dragons behind and what is left they learn to handle together. I also believed the three of them loved each other deeply, each in their own capacity.
