A general interrupter to ongoing activity - Evan Johnson
Просмотров 5402 года назад
A general interrupter to ongoing activity for solo voice, 2011 Evan Johnson; performed 18th July, 2022 by Erin Gleason program: "A general interrupter to ongoing activity is a study of the voice as an instrument that is uniquely capable of occluding itself. This occlusion takes place on a number of levels: the noisily tongue-blocked airflow of fricative and sibilant consonants, which comprise t...

All parts recorded by myself. Apologies for the creaking and cracking in the background, I happen to own the oldest wooden chair on the continent. Apologies also for the condition of the score and how the second trombone is cut off; it's the best I could find. Hopefully I have played the correct notes; if anyone has any corrections please comment.
Sax Quartet from Cowboy Bebop - transcription

I made this transcription a few years back and since it's been a while since I uploaded, so I thought I'd make a video of it. There is very little information about this recording so I can't confidently credit any of the performers or the composer. Please do drop a comment if you have information! drive.google.com/file/d/1cfJzTMw9pgZNzLXJTBQ1NbK2zvVRln3S/view?usp=sharing

i asked chatgpt to name me the most brilliantly composed song of all times, this one was the answer.
horrible, je recommande à personne d'écouter cette pièce.
This song is performed by a group called “the seatbelts” that’s all I know about it
12:37 13:03 14:32
It’s crazy how insanely short that Bari is playing those eight notes 😨 so impressive
2:20 to 3:57 is the portion used in Error Detection for those taking higher level Conducting and use the Robert Spradling Error Detection book
Interesting music
sounds like a modular synth
Ives.
Beautiful ❤
One of the great underrated gems from the Cowboy Bebop OST. Thank you for this!
You sound a lot like my friend Shara 🥰
Are there recordings with 2 pianos?
From what I've heard this should be composed by the series composer, Yoko Kanno. I also heard that the lineup of this was the all-star assembly of Steve Wilson (Soprano (?)), Gary Bartz (Alto), Chris Potter (Tenor), and James Carter (Bari), though I can't find any sources to confirm this.
Microtonality x
Almost sounds like Ligeti in some parts
日本のキャトル・ロゾー・サクソフォン・クァルテットの演奏だと思う!なので使ってる楽器は全パートがビュッフェ・クランポンのS1かPrestigeかな。
0:30
I will always vote for the LaSalle Quartet's performance of this from the old Deutsche Grammophon avant-garde series - much more energetic & wild. This performance kind of sluggish/rigid/in the boxes
So good!! Where did you find the score?
It sounds more "free jazz" than "contemporary classical" and that is why I love Ferneyhough
I could hear Dolphy playing this if he lived another decade or two.
amazing interpretation! great!
Performed this with my buddies for their last performance in high school. I played soprano and my friends on alto and tenor both agreed not to do the written solos lol. Amazing piece I had so much fun playing it and now listening to it here
That's crazy, I actually played this song for my last high school performance with a group of friends myself. I recall our soprano player totally killing it on the bandstand... Good times, I hope everyone kept playing for years to come...
❤❤❤❤❤
Molto particolare❤❤❤
Capolavoro della storia della musica❤❤❤❤❤
Worst thing I can hear. It is worser than my brother.
I am a trombone player and honestly happy for the small representation
wow, fantastic
For the 60bpm part maybe write it so it's conduction (eigth note=120) so that it can be read a be easily in four. Don't forget the mute on the trombone right before the finale. That is all my brain can see for now.
I played bassoon in a performance of this in high school. Learning it really taught me how to be a musician.
also while I'm at it, they're playing the third movement completely wrong. They're playing 16th notes in the main theme instead of 32nd notes. Other than that, great performance.
Whole orchestra playing PPPP wonderfull how a orchestra sounds
of every piece in the 'carceri' cycle, this one has always been the most inscrutable to me. Maybe it's the text; or the form, which despite its simplicity at the largest scale still manages to just raise questions.
When I was in highschool, we playrd this peice for a concert band compition. We wowed the judges with this peice
No siempre llega la inspiración...
Who are the performers in this recording?
Who is the clarinetist?
madness
Hi, may I know where can I find the score
Check out Amanda Harberg’s website. It’s all there
Still boring as hell
Harmony? OVER. Melody? OVER. Rhythm/meter? OVER. Motives? OVER. Form? OVER. The Atomic Bomb of music.
All of those can be found in this piece
My cat leapt on the piano and played this piece, less masterful but no kidding.
Wrong
If you're going to insult Boulez's genius, please try to come up with something more original than the tired old "cat on the keyboard" cliche.
there's a rumor that scarlatti's sonata k30 was composed by a cat. they are indeed quite competent.
The flutes poke a little minor-shaped hole in the web at 1:13. Gets me every time.
true master as usual.
Mr Dolphy, you were and still are the best.
I love it
This goes hard on mute 🔥🗣️🚨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 never let lil bro cook again 💪🥱☠️🚨🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Nah, "bro" cooked a gourmet meal
Thanks for uploading this. Great, great music by the Japanese Maestro.
This piece is astonishing. Mature Ferneyhough at his best, treading into the unknown.
some kids from my wind ensemble performed this at our spring concert last year and they did a really good job
I like how each string instrument plays at random and blends. Rather than an organized composition found in most music, Penderecki’s early works went on an abstract form. Having the musicians experiment with their instruments based on the score they see. Penderecki, you will be missed. RIP
