|| Why do I always get these weird faults?! The engine is running, but the wiper can...

Kawasaki ZRX 1200 Motorlauf im Leerlauf / idle engine run
Quel tour/minute au ralenti ?
Around 1200 if I remember right. Sold the KLR a while ago.
Sounds like you're taking fire from an enemy pill box😂
😄 yeah. The original muffler sounds special.
My dad has exactly the same one. I have a defender 250
Nice job. Shame you couldn't keep this bike. With time, you'll appreciate lighter machines more than bigger/weightier bikes. That's something everyone has to learn for themselves though. Thanks for posting, and with very nice background music to go with the slideshow.
Thanks man. 👍 It's not that I don't appreciate the lighter bikes - besides the ZRX and the GPZ900 I also have a '79 KZ650B that I love. Only 67HP but so nimble and great in the twisties... ☺️ My main issue with the 550 was that I am quite tall (1.88m) and just didn't find a good riding position. She went to a good and loving home though (guy with about 1.75 height 😉) and the GPZ900 I got in return is simply a hoot to ride. 😎
I had an 80/81 GPZ 550. It was a very nice machine.
These truly are great bikes - both generations. 👍 The 550 was just a tad too small for my height, so I swapped it for a just as nice 1988 GPz900R. 😎
I really want one.
Also does the bike has a canister and separator
What do you mean? Can you explain a little more in detail?
@@nordwind501 like an Evos system but I think only the California models had them I just picked up a project with few stuff missing and I’m currently lost routing the carb
Evap*
Ah okay, the evaporative components indeed are particular to Californian models as far as I know. At least the German models don't have them, sorry.
Hey u got a contact on a question with pics
Hi, what's the question?
@@nordwind501 do you have a gmail I can forward a picture of the carb . The vacuum line at the bottom I don’t know goes . I know where the gas line, breather hose that aims down to the ground, choke obviously . Thank u for the reply man really appreciated
Do you have a shop manual? If not, I recommend to get one, it will make your life way easier. You find one e.g. here: www.manualslib.com/manual/998165/Kawasaki-Klr-600.html?page=22#manual
There's no fuel pump. All gravity/vacuum controlled.
What a nice B 😎👌🏻
Thanks Mikkel 😊
hermosaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!
Graciaaaaaas! 😊
Lovely job. The engine is bulletproof, but the frame bad welding, fast bike.
Thanks man. You mean the bracket I had to replace? Yeah, not really eye candy but since it is hidden away, I did not care too much. It is a fast and nimble bike but it was just too small for me so I traded her in for a GPz900R in great condition.
@@nordwind501 thanks for reply, the nine is great as well, its just my friend had a 550 in the early 00s I had a fzr we went all over, great times, anyway keep the right side up, take care.
@@VickersV Cheers, you to Sir. 🤙🏻
@@nordwind501 by the way its not the welding on yours, its just my friend bollox head, at the back over behind the engine we're the welds go.keep it country.
Very cool and congrats for calling the MGB "tourer" rather than the misnomer "roadster". From a '63 B owner in Oregon USA.
Thank you Sir. I struggled with the title, actually. Since most people wouldn't know what the MGB Tourer means, I added the Roadster after the slash. 😄
Like new
Thanks Norbert. Yeah, she's not too shabby for her age. 😊
Great Job Heino.....!!! Love the editing.....,very professional... I just blather on through mine hoping someone can understand me...lol. BG.
Thanks Brian. Since I am pretty confident that no one would understand me, I chose the written form. 😄
Old-school
Angel exhaust when?
Lmfao 🤦🏻♂️
Whats the difference in performance and acceleration ?
Dave Penn Not noticeable, if any. Only sound and looks. I meanwhile actually went back to the original muffler despite the tweeting.
@@nordwind501 what was the deciding factor to going back to the stock exhaust? I’ve been considering the Leo Vince for my klr
@@zacharybalwinski5950 1. It did not improve performance (at least not that I noticed); 2. The stock muffler suits the classic KLR better stylewise (IMO); 3. I felt that the money was more wisely invested in my KZ650B project. 😎
Man, nice to bad these slip on exhaust are so loud 🔊 !
Good work. I have a nearly identical gpz550 A6, same colours. I had one 20 years ago and always missed the sound it made. My “new” one is in great condition but does have some marks on the engine. Did you do the painting process yourself? Is so what was the process/ products used and how did you get the Dohc back to bright after painting.
So sorry man. I have just read that comment right now. Maybe it helps someone anyway. I sanded down the covers and the entire engine. I got some high quality 2 component engine paint in rattle cans and sprayed several coats. I sanded down and polished the protuding sections of the valve cover after the paint had cured.
You're doing god work man. Awesome project, awesome bike, awesome job. I have a dream to get into restoring these old iconic peaces of art too one day. Have one just like this for sale near by. Maybe i will start a project like this too one day and share my progress! Still have a lot to learn.
So sorry man. I have just read that comment right now. It was a very satisfying project and I learned a lot during the process. You're right, it's worth the effort saving these old icons. 😎
