JOAN SUTHERLAND “Spargi d’amaro pianto” {ONE VIDEO COMPARING THREE PERFORMANCES 1962, 1973, 1982}
Просмотров 370Год назад
A comparison video of Dame Joan singing “spargi d’amore pianto” from three different performances. 1962, 1973, and 1982. Different clips from all three years are edited together in one seemless video to show the similarities and differences of her voice and overall presentation of the popular aria over the years.

Joan Sutherland & Marilyn Horne ONE VIDEO COMPARING TWO PERFORMANCES 1979, 1985 “Serbami Ignore”

I’ve taken two videos of “Serbami Ognor” sung by Joan Sutherland and Marilyn Horne from ‘79 and ‘85, and edited them into one performance. See the similarities and differences seven years can bring.
Dame Joan Sutherland COMPARING “Quando rapito in estasi” from 1961, 1979, 1982.

I’ve taken three different videos of Dame Joan singing the same aria and edited them to play as one performance, featuring all three videos. Each video is from a different year, showing how her voice has changed over the years; only proving that she was arguably the greatest soprano of the 20th century. La Stupenda!
Joan Sutherland, Luciano Pavarotti COMPARISON of “Verranno a te sull‘sure” - 1972, 1979, 1987

I’ve taken 3 different performances and edited them together to compare. Also, all three endings are included.
Comparison of JOAN SUTHERLAND in 1961 and 1979 singing Ernani, Ernani involami.

I’ve combined two videos of Joan singing in 1961 and 1979. It’s amazing how little her voice changed over those 18 years.

Wow! Amazing! So Beautiful! 😢❤❤❤❤❤ Jeff❤
Extraordinary. Wonderful. Unforgettable. Thank you!
I love this video. There's nothing like Joan and Luciano belting out that ending three times over the decades and in rabid secession. People can't fly, but Joan and Luciano could soar .....and take one for the ride. Thank you!
Great Otello duet. I rate Pavarotti's 1991 recording of Otello with his Idomeneo as his most committed performance on disc. And he was a superb Otello, totally idiomatic and convincing.
Greatness personified: Dame Joan Sutherland.
This just makes me cry. Greatness does that to me. Thank you!
That 82 performance was her triumphant return to the Met and by God she killed it. The Met audience had been deprived of Joan for some years and of course went nuts when she showed them she still had it....and how! Thank you.
Superbly edited, your series of videos weaving together Joan' s performancs over the years are amazing and very moving. How Joan stood the test of time! Incredible. Thank you!
It's interesting that when you listen to the diction of all three, Pavarotti has the clearest. The chiaroscuro is in my opinion the reason. Sutherland and Horne use mask placement and lack brilliance, squillo, and clean clear pure Italian vowels.
I'm surprised they had to use the score on the Norma selection. Perhaps the trio because I don't think Pavarotti had sung Pollione except in recordings.
his voice is remarkable, hers is as well but his diction is fantastic,
Te amo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a blessing that these telecasts still exist. Thank you so much ❤
3 magmificent voices that we will probably never hear or see again in a lifetime! D
Great great great! Thanks10
Thanks so much!
Cantavano come due angeli. Lei si trafigurava.
do you have more concerts from Live from Lincoln Center series?, I'm searching for a Kubelik concert from 1976
I’m sorry I don’t.
0:33 those opera udders about to pop out and sing
Inarrivabili

Who is the mastro for this concert
Richard Bonynge, Sutherland's husband.
This is technically the second part of the song and it is called "Get Away".
12:11 high C?
High B actually.
Gloriosos!
This is the best part of the entire song, and most recordings on RUclips and other media outlets always seem to stop the song before this section starts! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Fantastic program! She was at the top of her game here.
Wonderful. Thank you. - And the interview is a masterclass!
Tre macchine da guerra. Perfection is only under mytho. They are tutto
At 34:59 Pavarotti looks across at Sutherland and thinks " 'Struth, I better pull me socks up here!!!" Then almost misses his cue. (Just joking - truly the concert of the Century, Olympian gods on high at 36:39, and that's why we go to opera!)
This is one of the best, “mostly instrumentals” rock/pop pieces, ever! Too bad it was only an ending! Thanks!
Marilyn's range is INCREDIBLE...!!!
just extraordinary - - - there's nothing like this any more
The very greatest soprano/tenor duo in history.
matter of taste! Wie wärs mit Rethberg u. Lauri Volpi, Ponselle u. Martinelli, Callas u. Del Monaco/Corelli sowie Tebaldi u. Del Monaco/Corelli!!! Oh, ich habe die Stefano vergessen! Ich liebe die alte Schule!
It is said that Bonynge advised his wife never to sing Puccini, why?
Puccini sounds easy because it's so melodic. But it can take a toll on the voice because the orchestra doubles the vocal line. So it can be hard to project over the orchestra. And anyway, Bonynge's great love was bel canto and French romanticism. There were lots of great Puccini singers, but very few great bel canto singers, and he was determined that she remain at the top. P.S. She DID sing Puccini later in her career: Suor Angelica in the theater and recording; Turandot (recording only)
@@wotan10950 Thank you for your explanation, I knew about the Turandot, I own the recording. And there is a Vissi d'Arte video here on RUclips, with Tito Gobbi!
Amazing!!! First time I see the complete duet!!! Joan Shines with Luciano!! Do you have the Domingo Caballe Manon Lescaut duet?
"We kinda worked that all out." 🙂
"You gotta know something about us up front. We are very committed our families."
"We all are apart of the same family and that we can be of encouragement to one another."
Nicely done Father.
Why thank you, my son. 😊
