Nice video! The thick turf does help! We have a few videos on our channel with the good ole OptiShot 2! We beat the sensor pad up pretty good over a span of three years and it never broke!

So you're just using the camera on your smartphone and the traces the shots pretty well? Does it tell you how fast your ball speed is and stuff like that?

Yes as David stated if you don’t have the device in the formulates mat then you will need to choke down on the club to balance the depth of you feet below the pad. You will be okay I’ve had mine since 2011 and she is still going strong knock on wood lol…. Thinking of upgrading to the Orbit

I bought the thicker hitting pad and it lasted one full round of golf (4 players) and was completely destroyed and unusable after. Tried using a thinner layer of artificial grass on top of a layer of foam which worked fairly well however I need to find a better way to adhere the grass pad to the foam; i used Velcro but the backing on the turf is rough so adhesion is a issue and a ""fat" shot will strip the turf from the sensor entirely and with each one of these, the turf has less and less adhesion.

Tee boxes don't look great.

Can the shot tracer app analyze videos recorded on a smartphone, i.e. Samsung Note20 Ultra? Or it is only compatible with videos recorded on high-res cameras?

Good tutorial on the app, but I will say that the app is far more reliable when using it to record the videos vs importing them. I just did a vid of a few range session shots and I imported those into shot tracer and couldn’t figure out why it was so terrible. Now I remember that when I use it to record the shots I don’t have those problems. I agree that it may take more time, but maybe try using it during an unpopular playing time and it is a reliable app.

Hey there! Have a simple question. Each year Augusta is allowed to be downloaded during Masters time. I have Augusta & Pebble on a separate computer and as long as I play off-line, they stay. Could that be done with mini tour courses? Buy the package etc.

Great course, my mate is a club ambassador there and captaining our international team against scotland later this year.

Bought and Optishot on Ebay recently. Works fine, but I really worried about the pad. I hit in my garage. Built a 3X5 raised stance mat with a hole to hold the Optishot. Put a 1/2 inch gym floor pad under to help a little. Still a few bad wacks over the two weeks and the pad is ripping in 2 places. So I've pulled off the original pad, and covered the unit with a regular 1 foot by 2 foot hitting pad I use outside. I had to cut the holes for the sensors of course. This pad has a durable rubber bottom, but I'm not sure I won't be ripping the turf off when I fat the front sensor area. At any rate this should work for a while, and when Father's Day rolls around, I can get the kids to get one of those thick pads if I can't find a great cheap solution. Update: Been playing with the more durable mat for a while now. It has held up well. I am using foam balls, so when I tee upI just use bottle caps. I didn't want to puncture a hole where most of the abuse happens.

Good point. I was looking at this model and was wondering about off shots hitting the sensors. Then my other issue was it reads the club so you don’t know if your shots will have a good ball flight or not. I would like to know if my shot that feels good has good ball flight and direction. With this did that. Good review

60 yards should be bread and butter. That’s where the practice should be focused and also, maybe, lesser distances as this is where the shots are saved.

Got into golf two months ago. Played 9 holes shot 68 on par 36. Now I just came back this weekend and shot 55. Gotta keep grinding. Thank for the video. These help more than some pro videos. Maybe I can document my early game also. It's way embarrassing on 18 hole courses but it is what it is for a newbie. Love the game tho.

I just stumbled on your channel today. I, like yourself, am a terrible golfer who just re-picked-up the game this year. I really like the idea of a "Solo Texas Scramble," I've honestly never thought of it before. My only question is, did you ok it with the club house first or just go out thinking to ask for forgiveness later? As long as you aren't holding up play I imagine it wouldn't be a big deal but I'm sure there are some places that would throw a fit about it.
