This Is What I Will Do To Show MY Baby Darling How Much I Love Her.
Being an Epileptic all of my life, going through brain surgery 12 years back, lung cancer removal surgery 9 years ago, suffering a stroke 3 years ago, having throat cancer removal surgery a couple of years back that almost took my life, and now I'm dealing with a hernia, and two fluffed-up hip joints that have 98% diminished blood flow to them making the hip joints bone on bone that requires surgeries to remedy these 3 issues, on the 23rd June 2023, our 15th/Crystal Wedding Anniversary, I wanted to give my wife, Teressa, Tooty, something more than just 3 words of, "I Love You", to remember me by.
I wanted Tooty to have a smiling memory of me to look back upon.

This is how I installed a new El glow lighting strip around my dashboard, and center console, by simply tapping into the already installed factory dimming switch for the dashboard, and the footwell lights in my Dodge Charger. By doing so you are able to use the already installed wiring to power the strips too. Secondly, because some of the El Wire strips you can currently purchase on the market...

      Not really. And a damn sight cheaper to install yourself, or take your vehicle with an installation plan to a garage that works by an hourly rate. MOST installers who specifically install lighting sets only charge hundreds of dollars just for the installation alone, which doesn't include the light kits either. And good luck in getting them to stand by their promised warranties. The majority of so-called, 'Professional', installations are voided out as soon as you drive away from their location.

    Why when i buy the horn from store it only has 1 electrical socket, but that one on the car now has 2 electrical sockets

    • @therhino9661
      @therhino9661 11 месяцев назад

      With the utmost respect, I will Copy/Paste an edited version of my reply to another below for you. Because I can promise you, the installation is VERY easy to do, especially if you're prepared to install an additional, 'Play Time', switch for when you want to initiate the air horn, (By doing it this way, you can keep your original horn installation intact, and all you're doing is installing a new horn system to a new switch): First off I replaced the originally supplied airline that came with the air horn package with a thicker, gas piping tubing purchased from Autozone, and attached that to the horn and to the air tank. I attached the horn fixings to the underside of the metal cross member. I ran the cables through to the firewall and powered it to a fuse in the fusebox that already has sufficient power running to it when the ignition is turned on. I ran mine to an additional fuse box I had installed under the passenger seat. This additional fuse box helps me to power my under glow lights, my roof starliner, and the 2 light bars I have installed too). Prior to the installation I purchased a dedicated horn switch, and attached it to a placement area easily accessible. Attach the wires to the switch as directed, and you're good to go. The above may sound a lot harder than it actually was. I'd say the hardest part of the entire installation was running the wires through the firewall, and that was not that difficult when you find an existing hole large enough to run the small wires through. Again, as mentioned above, I wanted to install the horn to a new and specific button at an easy access point for my use. As I mentioned to the other commentator, "If I can do it, with my limited knowledge of car electronics, anyone can do it. Just follow the instructions that come with your horn purchase, and the wiring of the switch too, and you'll be golden". Hope this helps 👍

    How do you keep your battery from dying at a show when your cars not running? Do they just not use that much power or do you have everything on a separate battery?

    • @therhino9661
      @therhino9661 Год назад

      Apologies for the long reply to your comment, but you asked a Great question that many don't even think about prior to installing their own lighting installations, and this reply is going to upset many installers, and here's why. The light strip installations themselves don't pull that much power when they're turned on, and your car's ignition is turned off. A couple of hours of the lights being turned on, 'Shouldn't', drain your battery to where it won't start the car again, and/or you need a jump start from an alternative power source to get your vehicle started again. But, the more items you put on, and in your vehicle that draw more power from the battery, obviously the quicker the battery will drain. (Here's where I upset the bad installers LOL) You can go to many, many installers to have the light strips fitted to your requirement/s. But there are very, very few reputable installers who will openly tell you, "Oh, by the way. Now that you've put more of a draw on your battery, you do realize that you'll need to buy a stronger battery for this installation to work when your vehicle is turned off, so you can restart your vehicle again?" Why don't these un-scrutable installers advise you to upgrade your battery? Because when you go back to them, and tell them that your car wouldn't start after you had the lights on for a few hours, they'll slyly go over your install, acting like they're testing connections, tracing wires to make sure they're not cut somewhere, knowing full well that if a wire was hanging low it was them who left it that way, and the hourly charge rates they're going to bill you for is on them. No. After spending what they may claim is 3-5 hours of labor checking the installation, they miraculously discovered that you still have the original battery you had installed in your vehicle from the factory, and you didn't upgrade it to a stronger CA (Cold Amperage) battery to power your new installations. And if you try to argue the point with them, they'll just tell you, "You asked us to install lighting strips for you. You didn't ask us to install a new battery for you also. Oh, and here's your $300-$500 labor bill you now have to pay us too". (Since having my own installations done, I've heard this same argument at numerous shows from new installation owners who discover their cars and trucks won't start because they left their new lights on for too long). Prior to having my own lighting system installed, I discovered the solution purely at the cost of another show car owner's fault after going to a local car show. One of the other show car owners, who'd just had new lights installed all around his Dodge Challenger, he proudly left them on for about 5-6 hours for all to see, but when it came time to leave he couldn't get the engine to crank over and start up again. Luckily I had a fully charged NOCO Boost jumper pack in my trunk, and I was able to get him going again. While I was helping the gentleman, another meet member who just happened to be a self-employed mechanic came over to help us out, he looked at all of the new lights he'd had installed and asked the car owner if he'd purchased a stronger battery after having the installation completed. The owner admitted that he hadn't, he wasn't advised to do so by the installer either, so he didn't even think about doing it. The mechanic knew the installers and knew of their reputation for ripping customers off with their installs, and he told the car owner not to bother going back to them to have the installation checked because when the car was restarted, and with the engine running, the lighting installation worked just fine. He told the owner to save his money and go and buy himself a new, stronger CA battery that's rated for the maximum of his vehicle. That was how I discovered that there's a little more input needed than just installing a few light strips around your vehicle, and having them running for several hours at a show for you to be able to get back home at the end of the night. For my own needs, after having my strip lighting installation installed, I also self-installed a full 600 stranded star effect into the roof liner of my Charger, along with under-seating lighting, and pin strip lighting around the dashboard and the 4 doors too, I purposely purchased an Optima Yellow Top AGM Battery with a Cranking Amperage of 1000A. Granted, I could have gone a cheaper route and purchased something like a Duralast Platinum battery. But why scrimp and save a few dollars on an inferior battery with 250 fewer CA's in it, when for a few dollars more you get a much stronger, and more powerful battery that will run my entire installations for 5-6 hours, non-stop, and when I go to press the Start button, the engine doesn't miss a beat and starts right up. (Side Note: If you're going to buy a new battery, go to somewhere like AutoZone to buy your battery, because they give you a no-quibble 3-year exchange warranty on your new battery purchase, Just remember to keep your receipt and you'll be golden). Again, apologies for this LONG reply to your comment. But with you asking such a Great question, and with me seeing the bad sides that some installers do to rip off their unknowing customers as often as they can, it's a tale of truth I try to share whenever I'm asked about it. I hope this reply helps you out, and you'll understand why it was so long. Best regards to you and yours 👍

      @@Ballsoutracing22 Glad I could help you, Brother. Your comment deserved a reply to save you time, avoidance of possible troubles down the road, and most importantly, $$$'s. Just keep the battery simple, the more lights and sparklies you install, because once you start you will want more lol, just up your battery's CA rating so it can handle everything from the get-go. Stay safe, Brother 👍

      Thank you. The only tip I would highly recommend to you is, don't go with cheap lighting sets that can't connect to each other on an app. Reason being? After you've put the time into installing your system, the last thing you want them to do is mismatch when they're turned on. I am in NO WAY associated with Korjo, but after purchasing too many cheap sets only to find out they don't match up together, I discovered Korjo lights, researched their app, and it had everything I was looking for. Hense the video of my install lol. Oh, and a quick side note, take your time on your installation. Fix them to your body work as strongly as possible, and hide the wiring the best you can also. You'll be so much happier with your installation if you do. Good luck 👍

    How to combine lights secuence?

    • @therhino9661
      @therhino9661 Год назад

      This is quite easy to do. When you create your lighting setup on your vehicle, and add each set to the app on your phone/tablet, simply make sure each set is running the same colors, speed, and rhythm within the app settings. (On installation, remember to number each set so you know which one is which). Then all you have to do is turn them all off together using the app, and when you restart them together again all of the sets will run in unison to each other. The app makes this setup very easy for you to do it 👍

      Yes, I did. I installed a full under-car body kit, separate from the engine bay, and hood kits too. Both the engine bay and the hood kits are run on separate Bluetooth receivers to each other and are both separate from the under-car kits too. That way both of the engine bay units can be turned off when driving with just the under-car kits working. Hope this helps

    How did you install this horn?

    • @therhino9661
      @therhino9661 2 года назад

      First off I replaced the supplied air line with a thicker, gas piping, and attached that to the horn and the air tank. Attached the horn couplings to the underside of the metal cross member. Ran the cables through to the fire wall, and powered it from an additional fuse box I have installed under the passengers seat. (This additional fuse box helps me to power my underglow lights, my roof starliner, and the 2 light bars I have installed too). I purchased a horn switch, and attached it to a panel I created, and applied to the center console, in the bap right next to the gear lever. The above may sound a lot harder than it actually was. But as above, I wanted to install the horn button at an easy access point. EDIT: IF installing on a Charger, Challenger, or other vehicle where the cars' battery is under the hood, you could easily run the power and negative wires from the horn to your power source, run the wires needed for your switch back through the firewall, and connect them up, and then install the switch to your best positioning. This is NOT a difficult install to do. (If I can do it, with my limited knowledge of car electronics, anyone can do it. Just follow the instructions that come with your horn purchase, and you'll be golden. Hope this helps).
