I’m an American living in the Philippines. I use Apple Pay about 90% of the time. No philippine banks support it but all the local credit card processors do except one. So you can’t use Apple Pay with a Philippine bank card, but you can with any credit card from any country that supports Apple Pay. It’s a huge advantage, with all the scams that pervade the country.

The problem I found recently with Apple Pay was the transaction amount cap. Small amounts, transit fees not an issue...but I had my credit card frozen overseas recently when attempting to use it to purchase a $400 item.

I've already seen someone comment the german: Es ist, was es ist. Which is the direct translation and also something that is said. However, I do feel like the way it is used isn't quite the same as it is in english. Or rather maybe, that there is a second phrase that captures the resignation a bit better. "Ich kann es nicht ändern." (Can vary slightly.) Which directly translates to "I can't change it." Essentially just saying that it is not within your hands anymore to change the things as they are now.

It's "Что есть, то есть" in Russian :)
