80's Windsor Caravan Tour

We get asked a lot while on the road, to see the inside of our van as well as a couple of messages. Why, we're not so sure but we never say no if someone wants to peek their head in. So, here we've hopefully satisfied people's curiosity by showing what it looks like inside our beloved Lucy. As always, feedback is welcomed. #caravaning #caravantour #vintagevans #caravanlife #travelaustralia #van...
Mt Gambier to Melbourne | Dinosaur World | Car problems |
Просмотров 283Месяц назад
In this episode you'll see our oldest boy living out his dream when coming face to face with dinosaurs. We also cover a bit of ongoing car problems we've been having and why we basically spent only 2 weeks in VIC when we thought it was going to be home for a few months. So ultimately we took a little holiday to Vic and then go back to SA to settle down for a while.

Good day friends and family Just a quick video about our time so far here in South Australia. More exciting times to come in the future Please note, we are still very new to this and learning as we go! The Andrew Family
Our first 3 weeks in full time travels around Australia

Hi friends and family! Sorry for the long video. Was going to spit it into 2 parts but decided to just make it in one, and the rest of our vlogs will be shorter and hopefully regular. We have been super busy every day and could only get some editing done in small amounts, every couple of days. In saying that, here's a video on what the first few weeks was like after taking off and travelling fu...
Just want to say You Guys are amazing and we love you all so much ❤️ thank you for sharing your amazing adventures with us
Thank you for your support 🙏 we appreciate you watching all our videos 💚
Im from WA, currently living in Qld and about to embark on caravan living again so watching everything i can find on best van to get.
Definitely some good watches out there on great vans. We personally love the older ones because they have a lot more personality but I suppose it depends on your wants/needs/budget 😊 good luck on finding your perfect van and enjoy exploring again!
Good luck with the new van. That was a huge drive. Well done on not killing each other. LOL.
Thank you! It was massive, not planning on doing that ever again 😅
Congratulations on the van Hot tip If the van is registered in Victoria and If you can attach the registration to a Victorian address it’s about $68 a year Which is considerably cheaper than what we pay in Queensland.
Thanks for the tip! Definitely thankful the seller told us that too so we did exactly that 😁
@@andrews_vs_australia yes it all helps in the end why not save some cash where you can
Good luck with the new van.
Thank you 😊
One day at a time 🥰 Where is that place at the beginning of ur video with the water?
Absolutely! It was the Ewen ponds in Mt Gambier. You can normally swim through it but it's currently closed due to water levels being too low so will try again next time around as it looked absolutely beautiful 😍
Congratulations on your new van. Those errors on cars are for more than one failed component. On error should be for one component failed not more than one.
Thank you! Yeah we've got it all sorted now. The EGR valve was completely replaced and it's now got a PCR update too so problem all solved 😊
Congrats on the new Van !
Thank you! Feels great being back on the road again 🙏
How much p/a calendar year was the insurance for Lucy please?
We paid $83.73 p/m which ended up being $1004.76 per year, but I'm pretty sure you end up paying less than that if you pay for the year up front 😊 really affordable insurance she was
sorry to hear that they wrote your van off shame it looked like a lovely van
We absolutely loved her. She became part of the family, and she started our adventure for us. Was sad to see her go
Try using larger rear veiw mirrors on your vechilce give u better chance when trylng to reverse van
Thanks for the tip! We've got pretty big elephant ears for towing mirrors but unfortunately it didn't happen when we were reversing, it was pulling into the parking lot and the car and van wasn't parallel so couldn't see past the car. The van was turning on an angle. Was just poor judgement in distance 😔
Good luck with finding a new van.
Thank you! Definitely trying to stay on the road
Damn! good luck with whatever happens next.
Thank you! Definitely been a crazy time 😬
Winder service department will have it back up to scratch. You look very handy fix it up like new ! Always good to see the early Caravan still on the road ! Woops right off note do not comment early in video sorry!
We tried to fight getting her fixed but unfortunately the cost was far more than what it was worth so insurance didn't want a bar of it. Definitely wasn't an easy time! We loved our vintage girl.
Nice early Caravan great power setup !
Thanks mate! We really loved the old caravan, such great memories made in her!
Was nice to see another old van back on the road again, Sad to see it go
Agreed! Will be a long while before we have one of those big fancy vans. We love the old ones 😊
No worries guys!! Glad it’s all working well. Great ep guys.
Thanks so much, we really appreciate the effort you put into helping us! Safe travels to you guys 😊
mmmmmmmm😂😅❤
The council prices are over the top and the booking system can be a nightmare
@pop62 agreed! Definitely not too budget friendly but will be prepared for next time because the booking systems can be very frustrating
great beaches and fishing over Yorke peninsula, also should visit the Wallaroo Copper mine at Kadina... that whole area Wallaroo Kadina and Pt Hughes is a great area...
@@andrewcoulter323 thank you for your comment 🙂 have added it to the list for next time!
I don't think many can agree with many of the comments. I'm a former tour operator in South Australia and having travelled and lived around the world. The Yorke Peninsula is a grain farming region with unspoiled, quiet, stunning beaches many of which you totally missed. It is a mecca for fishing and even surfing at time - neither of which interest me.. the historic Copper town of Moonta is pretty charming and nearby Port Hughes has incredible sunsets the east coast of Australia could only dream of (yeah the sun sets not on the sea there). Innes National Park is where people with any knowledge looking for highlights head, but you missed it???????????????? 30 minutes away is the Clare Valley..totally different, the whole mid north Ranges are pristine and beautiful.
@ButtonPhonics thanks for all the info! We did mention in the video that we wanted to go to the Innes national park and did want to book but had issues, so it was on our itinerary but it just didn't work out that way. We also mentioned that we will give it another go so will take note of all the comments on recommendations 😀
Yorkes is all about the beaches. The council owned camp grounds along the coast are $20 per night and you can park up right above the high tide line in several places. I was at Gravel Bay last week and I wish I could share my photos here. There is the 500km Walk The Yorke trail along the coastline. Squidding is absolutely the thing to do. At Waraultee Beach you can camp on the beach itself for free. This is the only official free camp on Yorkes. If you have a very young family, it might be tricky to find things to keep them happy, but for anyone else...beaches beaches beaches.
Thank you for the comment! This is why we like having people mention this stuff, we couldn't find a free camp anywhere down the bottom. Great to know there is one, we will definitely add it to the list for next time around 😀 Indeed it is tricky with the kids being so young, they tend to want the more adventurous points of interests. We love the beaches though. Thanks mate, good to know there is more.
Lovely Ep guys, We loved the Yorke we spent a week there and could of stayed for 3 weeks. The NP down the bottom was good, the drive right along the edge from the Wind farm along the coast was lovely, Gleesons was awesome spot, so many spots to check with no one around much,
Thanks for the tips! Will add it to the list of places to see next time we do the Yorke. Will go for a redemption round 😁
Yorks is better for fishing, crabbing and surfing.
That's what we heard too but didn't have any luck with fishing and squidding 😏
@@andrews_vs_australia I caught heaps of swimmer crabs. All you need is a rake and a plastic crate. Go during low tide, wear old sneakers and watch for the bubbles. Easy as that.
@@jaydubbelyoo didn't try for crabbing. Only fish and squid, but thanks! 😊
YORKS is mostly about beaches and fishing....pity you missed innes its the star of the whole peninsula
@drewwakelin7149 would go back for the Innes, we were gutted we missed it too, it was high on our itinerary 🏞
Sounds like a bit of a rotten boring place. Thanks, I'll scratch it off my list of places to go. To be fair it looks typically SA a bit backward.
I'm sure if your timing is impeccable, it would be good! We've definitely heard of people having a great time there, but we just had a bad experience. We currently have friends there but unfortunately they had a similar experience to us (apart from Flaherty beach, which was amazing)
I live on Yorkes, best place ever.
@@anne-marieedmonds716 any places you recommend?
@andrews_vs_australia the whole leg is beautiful...it's the weather that can upstage everything. We call it Blownember time.
Awesome footage! Lucy’s all wheel adventures 😂 you can take her anywhere.
@@kellymackie6681 she definitely hasnt let us down! 😆 she's a mean machine
Liked and subscribed! Very creative with the cake 🎉 love it!!
Thank you, it was enjoyed by everyone! 😊
Thank you! Didn't look the best but tasted very yummy! 😋
How cool is the Talia Cave, loved visiting there. Good vid guys, safe travels
It was magical! Definitely would go again. You too!
@@andrews_vs_australia Did you go on to the Tub and Talia Beach?
@barts1286 didn't know about the tub! Will definitely do that next time around. We didn't go on the beach either as we were a bit pressed for time but adding it to our list too
Awesome video! Loved meeting your beautiful family on the road.
To you also Kelly! :)
Thank you Kelly! Was such a lovely time we spent with your family! 💗 hope to see you around again soon
W vid👍👍
Love the yeti cups hehe. Lots of learning still to go guys enjoy xoxo 😅
Sure do! See you guys shortly 🫶
What a sick way to live bro. Seems like a bunch of ups and downs. Scenery around Australia is something else aye. Hopefully everything for the rest of the trip is smooth sailing. Drive safe Andrew’s. 🇦🇺🪖🍻
Thanks Nate! We hope so too. So far the past few weeks have been fantastic 😁
