Sainsbury Centre University Of East Anglia( Avengers Base Age Of Ultron )
My old school, I was there from 1994 - 1998
I'm interested to install one on mg 2018 tiger 1200. Is it a simple unboltand bolt in new job? Ive ordered M5 x 25 grub screws to block off the oil way.
My old University (1972-75). Going there in few weeks time to celebrate our 70th birthdays and will certainly be visiting the Sainsbury’s Centre
I used a 25mm Counter Sunk screw and ground the head down until it fits
Oh I see, u probably used a long screw and cut the head off . I'm using a little bitty set screw that is extremely short and I was trying to figure out how far in it needs to be, but it might be better off using a regular M5 screw about an inch long cutting the head off and silicone it in
I used a 25mm Counter Sunk screw and ground the head down until it fitted then covered with silicone then leave to set
@@stujlad6507 thank you, just did same thing, worked great thank you
No it's not threaded i just used silicone around the screw to seal it but you need to leave over night to let it set
thank you for this
i didnt know if it need to be pushed all the way in and sealed or just in far enough so its flush.where the tensioner and gasket can tighten and seal..thanks for your time
Do you know if that oil passage hole that you have to block is threaded ,I tried sticking a M5 set screw in that hole since it was small and I wouldn't have to grind down the head or anything . But it might have been too small, how far in do you have to put something to block the hole off,
I know this is an older video but I was wondering if an 800 manual one would work because I cannot find one for 2013 tex..just 2016 and up and one for the 800.thanks

Hey can you explain the oil gallery blocking in more detail? Can't see it in the service manual.
Hi i used an M5 counter sunk screw which fits into the hole but had to grind the head down to make it fit then put silicone on screw then put back in hole
@@stujlad6507 I am assuming the oil feed hole is inboard side of the tensioner?
When you remove the tensioner you will see a counter sunk hole beside the tensioner hole
I'm trying to figure out how far in to put that counter sunk screw.
How can we get in touch with you please?
Hi what do you need to contact me about ?
The Hewett School would like to use your drone video in their marketing, with an acknowledgment of course. The headmaster is extremely interested in speaking to you about this, is that possible? Many thanks - Mike.
Hi i have no problem with the video being used in any marketing
Thanks very much! I have let Mr. Little the head teacher know. Brilliant stuff by the way! @@stujlad6507
No problem if needed I could always do a better version with close up's of what you wanted to see. I wouldn't be wanting any payment as it's just history for me as an ex pupil.
Hi is it easy to do ?
Yes just remove hydraulic one block off oil way fit manual adjuster gently apply tension until camchain noise stops
@@stujlad6507 have I got to lock the timing or anything or just simply remove and refit how do I block it off?
@@danielprice9059 No just remove tensioner the camchain won't jump you would have to remove the guides for the chain to be lose enough for it to jump sprockets
Hey why do you have to block of the oil hole when the manual tensionor come with its own gasket ?
Hi, did you block off the oil passage for the original hydraulic cct?
Yes I had to modify a counter sunk screw and some silicone
Is there any adjustment need at the course of riding ? Does adjustment cover the whole life spand of the timing chain till replacement ?
I didn't have to readjust after fitting and curing start up noise it should cover the life of chain as there plenty of adjustment left
How did you adjust the tension? I've just installed a similar looking tensioner (not APE but looks the same and half the price) in my Daytona 675. I finger tightened it while spinning the crank and taking up all the slack. Then backed off about 1/4 turn but not sure if this is too loose or too tight as I had to use a spanner to back it off. Will next try backing it off with a hot engine until I hear a rattle, then tighten it a bit.
Hi that sounds about right just don't over tighten
😂 🄿🅁🄾🄼🄾🅂🄼
did you go as far as taking off the cam chain cover even to keep the chain tensioned or did you just remove the tensioner itself
Just removed the tensioner the chain was really noisy on start up for a second or so but when manual one was fitted I put very little tension on to make it quite meaning this was no tension on chain with the original tensioner and chain still didn't jump on start up
did you have to take the rocker cover off to make sure it was at tdc
No just removed old tensioner the cam chain is not going to jump the guides would have to be removed for the chain to be slack enough to jump
did you fit this yourself
Yes
