Another great video! Glad to see positive comments about re-issues as far too often they fail - I’m looking at you Skinny Puppy’s Cleanse, Fold & Manipulate! I am hoping the re-issue of Too Dark Park is good. I find myself listening to Ministry’s In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up a lot lately but on RUclips because it has the entire show as opposed to the skimpy tracks they released on cd. Here’s hoping one day we may get the full concert on vinyl or cd.
Holy crap! You are back in full glory. Finally 😁
Nice review, I'm tempted to get these now! Have you heard about Jason Pettigrew's LoRaH book that comes out next year?
No! I'll definitely be picking that up, just pre ordered it. Thanks for the tip!
I Love when they throw the rare out of print so buy this shit thing at you - a few seconds it can be on its way to my house - I won't be buying these because I have several copies already and it's not a CD and putting 3 songs on each side is the reason I dislike Vinyl, do I have a lot of Vinyl Albums? Yes, because in the 80s every bloody single came on 12" of them, if I'm forced to get something on Vinyl I will but it will never get played because the record player is way over there and I'm here and the player doesn't have auto return so that last groove plays forever so there is no enjoyment in records. also, everybody Knows ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ is their best album.
So you don't want to play records because it forces you to move toward the turntable to flip the record over? And not everyone knows Psalm 69 is their best. People who only know Ministry's popular music think that's their best but they'd be lazy and wrong.
@occasionalfeelgood23 Of the 54 Ministry Albums, Singles and box sets I have, I feel like "Twich" is where they adopted that sound and "Palsm 69" being their 4th album in that vein they perfected it, the first album of theirs I brought was "Work For Love" and have every album since I'm 52 years old and still think " Palsm 69" is their best.
Love Ministry! Twitch is so good
I have the Music On Vinyl reissues
Wow - never had these on vinyl (only cassette) and I am glad that Rhino did it right vs. Cleopatra wrecking these. Cleo did put out track called “Playground” from the Halloween single that sounds like it was from Twitch that was fun. Was “Tonight We Murder” tied to Thrill Kill Kult in some way? Remember they used those lyrics on Confessions…or maybe I am wrong? Either way, thank you for letting us know these reissues are worth the double dip and awesome to see you back again.
Yeah, "Tonight We Murder" was written with Groovie Mann of TKK who also did the vocals. Al was also in a band with him before forming Ministry.
Yeah, it was a TKK/Groovie Mann thing called Special Affect. One of the many songs Al had kicking around for years before he actually released it.
2 BEST Ministry albums of all time!!
Hell yes, they are!
I don’t know anything about Ministry - thanks for the education. And an even bigger thanks for gracing us with your presence and charm again! PS - if it’s any consolation the weather in the UK is even worse than NW US! All the more reason to get pissed on cider.
Twitch, while not my favorite record by Ministry, is one of the best produced electronic albums- thanks to Adrian Sherwood's contributions. I've always wanted to hear a good vinyl pressing. Thanks for taking a look at these!
Yep, even Al credits Sherwood for teaching him how to be a producer. Total legend.
@@occasionalfeelgood23 Let's hope Rhino gives the same attention to the Mind album and holy trinity will be complete.
Hola, amigo. I had no idea this was reissued with all these extra goodies! I’m definitely picking them up! “I Prefer” and “Hizbolla” weren’t included on the cassette, unfortunately. It’s so nice to see you pop up here.
Ahh, okay, so the CD only. I remember a friend picking up the CD and feeling pissed that I didn't get those extra tracks! But hey, now I have them -- problem solved!
I've got all my Ministry records on original vinyl. Including With Sympathy aha.
I hear ya, not exactly worth it for you, but I also own all that original stuff and was happy to support these reissues. Thanks for watching!
@@occasionalfeelgood23 Glad to hear they sound good. Does the reissue come with I Prefer and Hizbola?
My Original version of "With Sympathy" Has "Work For Love" as its title
Glad you post about TWP. Damn near died when this was announced! Hopefully they keep recording and releasing!
Disintegration would probably be my favorite The Cure album if I was a little younger. The Head on the Door came out when I was 13, when I was ready to feel big feelings for the first time. So it's got a special place in my heart.
Hi. I was a (British) record changer (1986-1995) of eclectic alternative music. I was on the distribution lists of several labels. I have the 12" of 'Mixed By Fear' along with a few other promo only releases by F242. I agree that this 12" deserved to be generally released. I wish there was a practical way to share my (rather large - lol) record collection with people who may be interested.
I just buy the ones from the 70's and 80's along with the old time classics of universal pictures in 4k and really enjoy them now more then ever. yeah new horror just dont stick with me much. just jump scares and over the top gore which the gore part i like but not much else.
You are spot on my friend, they had good moments but this is a brilliant album
You are covering my favorite period of FLA. In fact, I was introduced to their music around the time Caustic Grip came out. I still enjoy their catalogue best from The Initial Command to Tactical Neural Implant, and all the single in that time frame too. I have the LPs and CDs from that era, and the cassettes. All original prints too. To answer your question, Mental Distortion does appear in the track listing on the CD version of Caustic Grip. I also remember being totally blown away when I found out where the cover art came from: Der Henker Und Die Gerechtigkeit (The Executioner And Justice) by John Heartfield. The story behind the image really fits the theme of the songs on the album very well. This all takes me back to when we used to go to record stores, and buy copies of records, CDs or even cassettes, and bringing the album home, and listening to it was an experience. You had the artwork and inserts. And if you had friends who were in to the same stuff, you would all get together for a listening party and pass the sleeve around. You just don't get that with the digital downloads.
just went through your thumbnails… did you raid my music archive??? you have ALL the classics!
I understand why Halloween is important and that it revolutionized the slasher genre but its never done anything for me. I like assault on precinct 13 way more. I saw the 2018 one in theater and although it was shit it was the best part of a bad date. Danny Mcbride and david gordon green should stick to comedy. Modern movies are dead. my only hope now is that independant people start making movies in the same way the grindhouse of the 70's were made. It's never been cheaper to make movies totally on our own distribution is the hard part.
I'm just glad to find this video just 5m after... I'm kinda all over the place just like your old man, and I absolutely love this album, probably my number #1. When I saw the thumbnail I was mesmerized by it. Thank you very much for sharing, your look does show how real you are. Take care 💪🏻
ITS IN MY BRAIN NOW!!
I came across this interview by just searching for some new ASC tracks a few days ago. I don't even know this guy who made it but I must say that I'm really glad to have found it. ASC is one of my favourite producers if not the favourite one and have never seen such a long and deep interview with him. ASC got me into the atmospheric/techy sound of drum and bass around the mid 2000's. Then I instantly got hooked on autonomic/170 sound around 2010-11, thanks to ASC. I was really happy to see him to get back into atmospheric scene, Spatial is something, we atmospheric d&b fans really need these days. I had the fortune to make a written interview with him long long time ago as well and publish it to the Hungarian d&b community. Thanks for taking the time to interview him!
2014 was the last year things were sorta normal. They don't have to even make money anymore. They're getting bailed out somehow. There used to be several hit movies every year and now it's like 2. So many anti woke channels have been grifting off it for years now but at what point would you just stop caring? It's never going back to normal low key propaganda. It's all goyslop now and ugly on purpose. Every white guy is evil, gay or a loser and minorities are holy.
Satyricon is my favourite album of all time. It blew my mind on many occasions and still does to this day. The cd album is the version to own. Sadly the vinyl album doesn't flow as well and misses tracks. I do feel Jonny Stephens really added to the sound and production on this album which is why it sounds the way it does. An album I can truly claim is perfect.
I was 12 when I bought this🎉😊 I can never find my favorite SP album either- it varies.
I cannot begin to express just how important Radio Babylon and helter skelter are for me. Now as a single is right up there as well. 99% is utterly phenomenal and I can't tell you how many people I played this to. I am way more forgiving for the tracks on 99%, probably because I owned it before any of the singles. It is my second favourite mbm album although there are times it fights hard for first position.
Halloween 3: The Season Of The Witch OST is one of my absolute favorite soundtracks. 🎃💀🧙
I agree with nearly every word this man breathes. BUT I do have a soft spot for Halloween 3 - it’s a complete piss take of the whole franchise and shits over all the other sequels! It also has the best soundtrack (more electronic and atmospheric) and improves on the music of the first movie imho. I would not rate Halloween in JC’s top 5 either although it’s his most influential movie. Assault on Precinct 13, Escape From New York, The Thing, The Fog and They Live are my top 5 (with honourable mentions to Christine, Prince of Darkness and his Body Bags segment). PS I too adorned my bedroom walls with (mostly) horror movie posters in the 1980’s including Return of the Living Dead! Freebies from my local video rental store of which there was one on nearly every street corner back then (the video nasty era here in the UK)! Amazing times for movies and music where classics were being released on almost a weekly basis.
On the nose with this one - sadly anything with originality from the 80s now needs a prequel/sequel/spin off. Even more unfortunate is that the worse the additional films are, it sometimes tends to cheapen the original story. Image if Halloween was just ONE movie! Hope you are doing well Mr. Feelgood!
Preamble was ALL facts. Thank you for these facts!
The following dismantling of today’s horror movies (and non horror) is as beautiful. Thanks for your time.
Absolutely correct. Movies have devolved into calculated cash-grabs with political propaganda/social engineering. The passion of the artists have been almost completely removed from the final product. Production companies just want a safe product. Now….what has happened with Joker 2 makes me wonder if that was just a revenge project to punish fans, which makes me wonder where the money is coming from to finance such an abysmal product. John Carpenter’s The Thing is one of my favorite films ever made. Legendary director!
It's a shame we don't get to see you as a whole, your face reveals so much about your character, I think. ;)
Brilliant review of the Richard D.James music
YES. Favorite channel back with possibly my favorite band. I cannot explain the excitement for this release, and it did not disappoint. Michael Allen has been a genius lyricist since Rema-Rema, and Gray and Cox have always made incredible music. Yeah, Boomkat is the only place I could find that I could get a physical copy of the record. I haven’t gotten it yet but heard it through streaming. Like you, I was surprised that 4AD didn’t release this, considering they put out the last TWP outtakes record a few years back and alumni Chris Bigg of v23 did the artwork for 2nd Shape. 4AD apparently has not been treating their legacy acts very well, nor some of their newer ones either (Grimes and Torres as an example) due to profitability. Just the fact that a decent portion of their back catalogue is not in print is telling. Whatever, I am glad that the Press are back and that you have done an excellent review on this record!
Coxless though
@@pyenapple Allen said this of Cox leaving: “There were musical differences, and he decided that he didn’t feel right in the group any more,” explains Allen. “It was just the way we were writing the music really. He wanted to write between the three of us, and that wasn’t really working anymore. And what happened was each of us went away and started the bare bones of the track, and he didn’t feel comfortable with that.”
@@johnnyyeshno5230 that’s fair I’m just pointing out he’s not involved
Oh I whole heartedly agree with you that I miss Cox’s input. Maybe someday he’ll rejoin. I am just glad that we’ve got this for now!
Cool album. A nice mixture of old and modern sounds. Reminds me a bit of the new Haujobb album The Machine in the Ghost.
Of course you have a Kraftwerk video! Amazing collection! Love this!
Awesome video, 808 & Gerald are just the best. Massive influence on my life. Creative geniuses.
Masterpiece
I found this album on CD recently at a record store. It’s the 2001 Nettwerk reissue, which seems to be just as hard to come by as the original 1988 Capitol CD release, if not more. I’m glad I got it. This is a really good album.
Original pressings are the best but the re-pressings on Mecanica sound really good. Acid Horse comes on pink vinyl. I think it’s out of print already but you can still find copies at n Discogs.
I’ve gotten into and fallen in love with this album in recent weeks. I have kids myself so can’t imagine his sorrow. Never fallen into his music before but have dipped my toes. Would appreciate a ranking of Nick Cave albums from you at some point. I’m going to try Ghost Teen next. PS I can’t log in to Discord - tried a few times so I’m assuming the group chat thing is dead?
Great point-> club music
I love this KJ record, as complete as it, for me the second half is what really makes an impact on me. I often start from track six Inside the Termite Mount and Finish with Struggle, being my two stand out songs from the Album (everything in between is also very strong). Also its strange how tastes vary so much, but you said that the two previous albums were their weakest.. Many of the Post Punk fans Love Brighter than A Thousand Suns- as i do, maybe my favourite, but yeah its not heavy, like much of their other work.
Forgot to mention, only band who is somehow in the same universe like Pankow, for me personally, is Laibach. And funny, maybe interesting for you, they made also a cover from Warm Leatherette: ruclips.net/video/PlEOsXG619w/видео.htmlsi=tppkP9wjnRntyJUB
Perfect Album. The Story about Rotkäppchen was crazy. Often used as an Intro when a party started. Normally a story for little children and here in an scary „horror version“. Don’t know if you have ever try to translate it in English to understand what they are saying in it. Worth a try. 👍
Nice and thx for the great review! We really appreciate it.
